Bikepacking across South Korea
(*useful info below*) I cycled from Seoul (Incheon) to Busan in 6 straight days, making approx 105km a day. This happened between 22-27 May 2022, shortly after South Korea reopened its borders to visitors.
_______________
Where I rented the bike:
Green Bike Park. 19 Itaewon-ro 20-gil, 용산구 Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It’s ok, but make sure you choose a comfortable bike suitable for elevation. They also transferred the bike from Busan back to Seoul.
_______________
Where I bought the cycling passport and some accessories:
Bike Nara (Giant). 414-1 Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea
_______________
Where I stayed:
Day 1: Dream Gungjeon Motel (1649-2 Gyeonggang-ro, Yangpyeong-eup, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do). 40,000KRW/night. An ok option.
Day 2: Rexy (or Lexy) Motel (5 Sangbang, 7-gil Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do) 30,000KRW/night. Another ok option.
Day 3: Yes Motel (16-1 Seongdong-ri, Nakdong-myeon, Sangju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do). 30,000KRW/night. The dirty one.
Day 4: CF Motel Seongseo Branch (90-12 Hosandong-ro, Dalseo-gu, Daegu). 45,000KRW/night. The nice one.
Day 5: M Motel (975-9 Namjijungang, 1-gil Namji-eup, Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do). 40,000KRW/night. Absolutely avoid.
Day 6: Gray Hotel (82 Bosu-daero, 124beon-gil, Jung-gu, Busan). 40,000KRW/night. Very good location.
_______________
I used TRAILFORKS app to stay on the track.

Ko1eans are a people of s1avve with no self-esteem. They criticize themselves and their country in every comment, but they act like s1avves to all fore1gners. I have pointed out tens of thousands of times more, but they don't even realize what they are doing
I love the video! Looking forward to seeing more videos uploaded.
I was watching Nick K's channel and the algorithm brought me here. This is one of my bucket list to visit and cycle my home country. Thanks so much for your detailed info and the absolutely amazingly beautiful videography.
Very nice! What season? It looks like you chose a great time weather wise. Currently living in Korea and considering doing this at some point.
Congratulations you did it
you`re so cool !!
10:37 What a beautiful road made just for bicycling. If I don't bike on that road, it would be a wasted life! I am gonna get myself a nice sturdy bike, get all the gear that is necessary and do the exact same travel that you did! Can't wait. The drone shots of you biking are awesome. Actually they seemed like drone shots but they were just shots from high up hill. Still very panoramic.
Awesome!!
Dream!! Thank you for sharing your journey!

how many km per day?
Thank you for making this wonderful video. Hope to ride there soon.
HI, May I ask if there were a lot of bugs during the ride or at night? i am thinking if i need to get a mosquito head net. Thank you.
No, no mosquitos as far as I remember. But it was May, there might be some later in summer.
@@ainepetrulaityte thanks a lot
2:52 Those tunnels used to be part of the railway, but refurbished into tunnels for cyclists since a new railway has been built.
I'm starting the trail in 2 days, I hope I am as lucky with the weather. I'm debating whether to take my tent or not... Thank you for the useful information, and especially for giving us a good idea of the feel of the trail. I'm even more excited now!
Hi, does anyone know where I can rent a road bike with accessories (lights, pannier bag and rack). My friend and I want to do this trail from Seoul to Busan. :) Do let me know if you know of good and inexpensive rental places.
Hi! I rented my bike here: maps.app.goo.gl/WCs8mth9Kbw3eSom9 It's an ok place, but you need to double check that the guy is giving you everything you need and in decent state. There is another place that might be a better option, but everything was rented out when I was searching: bikenara.modoo.at/ Good luck!
lindo vídeo + 1 inscrito e boa sorte
I was really wondering how cyclable Korea is. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for visiting Korea. and congratulations on cycling from Incheon to Busan. I will always support your next challenge.
Thank you for putting the towns and hotels in your notes. I plan to do this by myself next Oct.
I hope you make another video. Thoroughly enjoyed this one
Thanks to the algorithm, I finally saw this. Thank you for your hard work. And thank you for enjoying Korea. 633 Congratulations.
Amazing achievement! Hope you enjoyed staying here.
awesome ~~ you are super great. thanks for your visit and posting.
So great 👍
keep rocking! I really like your movie!
Hi Aine, great video and thanks for sharing. Just wondering how did you transport your luggage during this ride? I assume you didn't return to Seoul after your ride.
this is so epic! Thank you for sharing. I'm going to SK next year and look forward to doing this bike path
i completed the same path 5years ago remember having fun watching the video thank you for the good video
Our ancestors did this on foot carrying guns and 60+ pounds of equipment so that South Korea could remain a free nation, seeing the difference between North and South today I hope they all know their sacrifice was worth it, and i hope we all remember what they gave for this great country.
