Visitors are encouraged to interact with the aircraft's and exhibits which enables them to have a fully immersive experience. There is a selection of cockpits open for you to be able to take a closer look at. As well as the vast array of aircraft on display, there are exhibition rooms, a gift shop and an onsite cafe.
SWAM also hold regular organised visits from schools, cub groups, beavers groups and clubs. If you would like to organise a group visit then drop us an email to info@swam.online or give us a call on 01446 789787.

The fascinating history of kidwelly castle
มุมมอง 25314 วันที่ผ่านมา
Kidwelly is a mighty and imposing monument of Norman power. It is also a beautiful example of castle development, as the castle was dramatically altered on a number of occasions to conform to the latest thinking in military science. Roger, bishop of Salisbury, the justiciar of England, established Norman power in the area and the ringwork castle (shown below) that he built here was one of a ser...

They stole that land from the welsh , built there castle on a welsh hill of princesses and princes pure welsh who owns that land have lived fought and died for that land and they shout this is for princess Gwenllian ! when they charge the invaders, gwenllian ,s headless ghost haunts that land ,never to rest.😮up the lords of the castle as they are dirty rascals😂my family live locally ,it can be seen from all around ,there’s a Roman fort footprint they say not far picked up in June Julys 2018 drought from the air map on line and story of its discovery. So then 2,000 years of history Roman road between Kidwelly and loughor fort lacurum.,check it out go in search of the trace of a fort that’s below ground mark in landscape from aerial photo shows where Kidwelly,s Roman fort was.

So interesting, and your narrative is enjoyable. There are so many castles in Wales, most in a state of disrepair. Would it not be amazing to see just one sympathetically restored, roofs and floors replaced, glazed windows in the Great Hall, not just preserved but brought to life again. Only a thought...someday I'll go back to Wales

oh wow i googled it based off the castles name, and man, what a swanky pad. add a small industrial arts cottage at the back end of the property for glass and ceramic arts as a sort of lords folly for me, and hire up a solid farming crew, and do up lots of green energy, and man, that would even today be an amazing and self sufficient property times a thousand. the social order might not have been remotely fair, but it sure sure spit out some amazing craftsmanship. those old time workers were so so good, god bless their memories.

just imagining the potential of a property like that run under todays rules of work and environmental care and so forth has my mind racing alright. so much slumbering potential locked in there. Not that id knock down the ruins, but I comprehend why they had a more clinical view towards architectural latest and greatest stuff. they had a work force that was second to none in all fields. as a glassblower myself every time i see an empty window in a place like this a cant help but grin, knowing one of my predecessors had paid work. such wonderful places, even in ruins they fire the imagination like cannon shot.

The green fencing is to either prevent incursion into an area from small mammals, usually protected rodents and or amphibians; or to contain small mammals, protected rodents and or amphibians within an area; or to allow passage of protected species, while preventing them into what would be a danger area for those species. The erection and placement of such fencing, is often a legal requirement, if the landscape is to be changed and or building works are to be carried out. Where such works and areas border land inhabited by said animals. Unfortunately, the checking of the continuation, stability and condition of such fencing and the animals the fencing is meant to protect. Is usually less important to contractors and landowners, than the initial placement and that box ticked. Fencing is not just for people. And is in most use-ages, either to contain, segregate or protect livestock and or wildlife.
