We are not stationed at JBLM so I’m not sure if any guidance can be afforded…but thought it was worth at least putting it out there. My husband is active duty Army (warrant officer) and at his duty station while I am in another location due to medical issues and ongoing treatment. Initially I was with him, but got sent on MTDY for several months which was abruptly canceled for reasons not entirely clear while still pending appointments. My husband flew back and I stayed to continue working my side of things and also included a compassionate reassignment being approved based on circumstances of my case. However, upon reporting back from MTDY my husband was placed under investigation. GTCC related, flagged, halting issuance of orders based on compassionate…interestingly we were to have gone to JBLM. He didn’t seem too concerned and thought things would be cleared up quickly so I continued navigating personal affairs as planned and communicating with my doctor back at my husbands duty station. Unfortunately a couple added events delayed my return; eviction of tenants in family home, witnessing the untimely death of a dear friend/neighbor/extended military family member on a Saturday morning due to massive heart attack, and a few days later the frantic call that my uncle (only father I’ve known) was admitted to emergency surgery out of nowhere. All within 2 weeks. Still communicating with my physician, I was met with instructions to find a local physician as “it seemed there’s no end game”, in reference to my return. Of course this changed everything and with thousands of miles between the locations, I had to miss services for my friend to get to my family as well as expedite reestablishing care, housing and oh yeah, all things related to my sweet little 4 yr old (at the time) being along for her mommy’s crazy ride. Long story short, 2 houses in separate locations = big expense even with me working as well. Some options were talked about with my husband in Aug/Sept 2023, but none were very clear on what was entailed. Questions were asked but responses and guidance were vague and slow to receive. Not sure if the investigation may have had an influence, and fair to say is speculation, but nonetheless The situation was financially burdensome with any requests for assistance to include AER access being denied. The option for ERD came up and processing began in Jan 2024, with orders finally issued in May 2024 for me and my daughter. In between that timeframe my husband was arrested at a bank by civilian police, taken in and released. There were also several instances of missing pay, and questionable behavior surrounding finances that often leaving me and baby without any added support. Amidst this process, I was informed of my Doctors suspicions that what I may be battling is a lymphoma related to implants. Lots going on, and decisions needed to be made as to best course of action for my care again and would involve another move. We started receiving the additional entitlements for housing and where it was thought would be a positive started the complete erosion of all stability. Initially it was missing mid month Aug pay, a check that would help complete my relocation. Weeks went by, no updates, no return of funds and no command approval for AER. Then there was the second check for October 1st. Same scenario, Weeks went by, no return of funds for either check and no command approval for AER. My husband filed a complaint with IG, I contacted command directly, explaining the impact to us and begging for consideration. Then the final chapter, the third check for December 1. Gone. I immediately contacted the unit and my husband requested it be elevated to the approving authority and the meeting was scheduled for that afternoon.… Then I watched it all unfold in slow motion, reading my husband his rights… in a meeting he’d requested to discuss obtaining assistance. They came in with A different topic in mind and armed with several months of printed LES statements. I was so angry and disappointed in feeling that my husband was being targeted simultaneously dismissing our desperate pleas for help. I spent several hours on the phone with DFAS corroborating routing and account numbers. My husband filed the police report, changed his email, planned to change his number. I sent the reports to his command and then made a call myself to utilize the open door policy and speak to a Major General to advocate for my spouse, our circumstances and address the lack of help and support from command. It was a little too late, so I could only leave my contact info and given how exhausted I was decided it best to just get some rest. I snuggled up next to my little girl and think I was asleep before my head even hit the pillow… But woke in the middle of the night out of a dead sleep, gasping for air… not realizing that oppressive, constricting, and unwelcome feeling in the pit of my stomach were actually all the lies, manipulation, and abuse I’ve been enduring finally reaching me in a space free and safe from all of the gaslighting and blame. No more denial, only the revolting, truth and overwhelming belief I’d never be in disbelieved again.. “Are you certain you didn’t get the…”….”look if there aren’t going to be any checks to be returned. Please just tell me. Please, so I don’t have to go through this anymore.” …” You’ve gotten more than the BAH in this last month alone!” Says the man that’s deliberately hidden an extreme amount of money, Made the decision himself to send pay to my account because he cannot have a regular checking account, has derailed relocation efforts for my medical needs, changing plans entirely and placing me in an area that is half the amount of the BAH being received, and NOW with the information known and corroborated being reported to his command by me, the poster child of betrayal in a wife, can justify the enormous degree of suffering as my consequence. A week before Christmas, my account is overdrawn, he refuses to follow a direct order to pay, doesn’t feel compelled to speak to me currently but does feel sending me a portion of rent for December is sufficient. Oh, The entire time this has been going on my husband has been speaking of only his support and willingness to do whatever is necessary for his family. Sadly, I think he has me confused with someone else or simply had a better plan for himself. nonetheless I have been requesting help through the installation I’m closest to, as well as through his command and services at his installation. I contacted FAP several times and have not received any returned calls. Since then, command informed me my husband would be separated from service, and the info I learned and reported which they were already tracking (Think back to reading him his rights) would be turned over to CID and combined with the prior (pending) CID investigation initiated by local PD. I am not sure what I need to do to properly advocate for myself so I can take care of me and my daughter. To think that this is just my version of a brief overview is a little unsettling and I do apologize for the length. There is indeed a lot more here And ultimately, I just need and would sincerely appreciate any guidance to steer me in the right direction. It’s already been almost 2 weeks and we cannot sustain much longer. Whoever is reading this, thank you for listening…

I’m a scout member in troop 62 in jblm, good friends with his son Josh Brunson, Mr.Brunson is a great man who pushed me to do my best to strive and to work harder, same thing with his with mrs.Brunson who is a judge for the military. I’m so happy to see him getting his rightful promotion
