Hey, I couldn't leave a comment on your National shorts from Merriweather, so I'm leaving one here. Do you happen to have the end of System from that show? I was on the rail not far from where you must have been. Matt ended up grabbing me and pulled me in to sing the last chorus with him, then he put my hat on his head. No one around me caught that, so I thought I would ask. Thanks.

So much better hearing Oteil sing Jerry songs than Bob; he sings his own songs fine but him doing jerry just sounds wrong! Oteil has a whole cd out of his beautiful versions of jerry songs...

But he clearly sings "fateful" in the early studio versions, and that is closer to the traditional versions of this song. Indeed, in some early versions (eg 16 July 1966), Jerry sang "... where she met her fatal doom" (3) Phil sings "I married me a wife, I love her more than life" with Phil & Friends
