THE DOUBLE BOB GRAHAM ROUND DOCUMENTARY/ ONE OF THE UK'S HARDEST 24HR CHALLENGES!
The Bob Graham round is a historic route that is 66miles, 27,000ft with 42 lakeland peaks. The route completed by Bob Graham in 1932 has an increasing number of runners attempting the challenge with the primary aim to complete the route in under 24hours . It is an epic challenge that requires meticulous planning for an optimum day out on the fells, however, when two athletes undertake the challenge, the logistics for such challenge is a complex endeavour. Mike and Craig, runners for Belper Harriers took on this challenge and executed their schedule and are now honourable and proud members of the Bob Graham club

THE ULLSWATER WAY TRAIL RUN: 20MILES / SPECTATING THE 7.5 MILE CHILSWIM ULLSWATER END TO SWIM
มุมมอง 1412 ปีที่แล้ว
The Ullswater way is a well signed, low level trail running route. It is a great introduction to the lake district where you are rewarded with some beautiful views of the fells including Helvellyn. There are a few place on route to refill bottles including Glenridding, Patterdale and Aira Force as well as the Lake itself! It was great to see the swarm of swimmers tackle Chillswim's monumental 7...
THE CHARLIE RAMSAY ROUND RECCE / A BRUTAL 24HR ULTRA RUNNING CHALLENGE THAT INCLUDES 23 MUNROS!

We backpacked a portion of the route with a wild camp in between at 900metres. We took a clockwise direction and climbed some of the hardest terrain that Great Britain has to offer. The Charlie Ramsay round is brutal, and is part of the big three Ultras in GB which include the Bob Graham which I have completed and the Paddy Buckley which is the other round to be recced and attempted in the futu...

This is a research informed presentation delivered by sports scientist, PhD student and strength and conditioning coach Alex Van Enis. The presentation dispels misconceptions of strength training for runners and the importance of it for all athletes. The Belper Harriers provides two strength and conditioning sessions per week at the University of Derby Human Performance Suite; they consist of a...

NOW THAT'S WHAT I CAN CLIMB!
Git oot a Scotland
Awesome video, well filmed and a great snapshot of what we have installed for us on our BGR round this June. We're not able to recce the routes so this is very helpful.
It used to be a volcano, and most of Scotland and wales mountains were volcanoes! Glencoe was a super volcano
i’ve been there it’s so cold at the top there’s sbow
Its less than 500o feet , Looks like bigger mountians peaks
That's the first thing you learn about British mountains, they tend to be very rocky, start from low elevations and are exposed to extreme weather conditions on top so can be a lot more severe than higher mountains further inland in other countries
love it
Mountain?
Ben Nevis Scotland
Longer climb than the Matterhorn and K2

What's this wee tune?

I have a fact Ben Nevis is a actually a volcano well is a dead volcano but is used be very active and have big eruptions like if it was a super volcano
Wow
Well done. Good running by the look of it
Halls Fell is a tricky descent.
Amazing accomplishment. Well done. And to the support crew.
Well done, fantastic achievement.
Thankyou, it was a superb day out
Watched this in total awe, what an unbelievably amazing effort! I so wish that was me standing ready to start ay Mott Hall and then finishing at the same place, after completing this superhuman effort but at 67 years of age and two knackered knees, I somehow doubt it. I first head of the Bob Graham Round about 18 months ago when I was going up Halls Fell with a mate and three lads ran passed, two in from and one a few yards behind and a fellow hiker we bumped into told be he was attempting the break the BGR Record, we found out later he missed the record by about 6 minutes (I knew I should not have stopped him for a selfie). I have been fascinated by this run every since and just cannot commute how anyone could complete such a run! I went up Kirk Fell last month with a couple of friends, coming down the same way, then up Great Gable before going back to the cars, I was exhausted, so when I saw that part of the run I just shock my head in amazement! I take my hat off to you but please look after those knees, when they go they give you so much pain. Very well done YOU!! Cheers Alan
Thankyou very much for your kind comment; it was a wonderful day in the fells, in-fact, the best day of my life!
Feel that pain. Well done!
Nice video. Quite a nice day for it. Not always like that, is it! I've put a fell running comedy up on you tube if you would care to check it out. Best wishes.
Nice film m8 👍
Glad you enjoyed it

Sublime. Some lovely climbs and scenery here. Thanks for the overview.
Thanks for the upload 😊
No problem 😊
Watched this morning, and back for another watch - brilliant stuff. Congratulations again to Mike and Craig. (Also to you Wykeham for your prior completion too). The drone / quadcopter aerial views were a nice touch.
That is really lovely to hear, Thankyou 😊. Yes the drone was a great addition, our bags were getting bigger every time I thought of something else to bring on the fells in addition to normal support kits for the runners 😆
Outstanding! Congratulations. Having just ran Leg 1 yesterday morning on a training run, I salute you! Between Great Calva and Blencartha, it felt un-runable! Swamps up to the shins and heather up to the knees! Seriously, what a huge accomplishment lads. 👏🏻 💯
Thankyou, if you don’t already know, today there is a Bob Graham record attempt. Leg one the runner did it in 2hrs 15minutes 😳
@@thederbyshireadventurer wow 😮 That’s insane. Kilian will be lacing up his trainers now. 😂
Congratulations!
All out films are from Wales or the lakes. Take a look when you get the chance 😊👍
Very uplifting video, leg 3 is great!
Glad you like it; I am fortunate enough to be supporting a round in a few weeks where I will be navigating leg 3/4
I am watching this video now. I only appreciated the strength training properly after I got injured so much that I couldn't run.
That is very common practice; runners tend to have a reactive rather than proactive approach to injuries.
@@thederbyshireadventurer I know, learning hard way unfortunately
Brilliant video. Very interesting to see all the beautiful views around Ulswater and the swimmers while you were running. Weldone on your 20 miles. Did you have a dip at the end of your run? And what's your name, if you don't mind me asking. There wasn't the name in the description of the channel.
Thankyou; yes I had quite a few paddles on route to cool down. It is a beautiful route 👌
Hi m8, how did you find the parachute drop compared to halls fell, always fancied recce'ing it, me and a m8 have our attempt on 27th August, going unsupported,
On my round I didn’t do the parachute and stuck with halls fell instead. I personally think there isn’t much in it. If killian did halls fell, then that’s enough for me. I’m supporting a round on the same date 😊
Great achievement! Looks awe-inspiring!
Thankyou, it really inspired me when I supported a round. Such a great day!
Just wow ! Congratulation, this is stunning, maybe one day I run there (not the BG round though :), scenary is fantastic !
Thankyou very much, the Lake District is a beautiful please with endless views.
Enjoyed that, it’s a toss up between leg 3 and leg 4 for my personal favourite. Good luck with your round 👍
Thankyou; I am glad you enjoyed it. My favourite is leg 4; it just seems a more runnable with flow.

Should add some commentary… be good to hear about your experiences.
Thankyou for your comments; this is definitley an element i aim to input in my future videos. Overcoming the youtube, talking anxiety to a camera is definitely an important one to overcome. Any questions about the route, I will be happy to help :)
@@thederbyshireadventurer just enjoyed watching and would like to see and hear more :) happy cycling!
Nice scenery!
Thank you very much! It is beautiful in the Peak District
@@thederbyshireadventurer it is! Beautiful place for cycling and walking :)
Where is that place?
It starts at Monsal Head in the Peaks and heads towards Mam Nick and loops back round. It is a beautiful route
