All my life I've been a "doer". A self- taught.
But last year I got a 3d printer and it changed my life completely.
On this channel you'll find some of the things I've designed and build.
Enjoy!
私は生涯ずっと「実行者」でした。独学です。
しかし昨年、3D プリンターを手に入れて、人生が完全に変わりました。

Going well fella nice
That's really nice fella
Thank you! I really appreciate it.
@3dPrinterdude top job
Beautiful work! What is its weight without motor & electronics? What lipo do you use (2S, 3s...)?
Thank you!, appreciate that. I love vintage speedboats. 2100 grams approx. I use a 1500 mAh lipo 3S - 100C. It's a drone battery. Have a good one.
@@laurentnouvel1244 this is the fella who made the file on the scarab. Ie vice boat I just printed it made brushless all I had at the time if build
Good idea and very nice boat! You could also slightly modify your rudders (with a more triangular profile) to avoid too much resistance in the water th-cam.com/video/O9P2vBhsC7Q/w-d-xo.html
You're right! Thank you! And thanks for the video too.
@@3dPrinterdude I sent you a mp on thingiverse
Awesome ..! I have one in progress.. currently in the sanding stage..
Great!
Hi! Very good job! How long does it take to print it? Did you use existing RC shapes to design the hull or just did it based on pictures of he real boat? Did you also try with brushless motors and lipos? Bravo!😎
Hi! thank You! Printing time is approximately one week with a 0.4mm nozzle; but if a were you I would print it with 0.6mm since it reduces the time considerably and gives it more strength. No, It was entirely designed based on pics of the actual boat. I tried to reproduce it as is the original. Yes! I've changed the configuration to use it with a Tamiya TBLM 02S Brushless Sensored Motor and it performs a way better!!! ( I'll be uploading a new video to show the difference). Take care!
@@3dPrinterdude Very nicely done! the shape of the hull can be tricky to design in order to work well on the water. I thrill to see your new video!
Hi fella really liked your build so had to do it too pop over an take look ......thanks for the motivation..to the same
Cool! Thanks! I'll check it out.
them boats are cool 😎
Thank you!
How did you make the railing that runs down the center?
I used a 3mm galvanized wire. In turn, they are glued to each other. You could solder them with tin as well, taking care not to melt the plastic.
Just started up my printer for this one!
Good luck and patience! This model will not disappoint you
working on the boat as we speak, could yo tell me how you make the stainless steel rail going down the bow? thank you.
Easy! It is a 3mm galvanized wire. In turn, they are glued to each other. If you dare, you could solder them with tin, taking care not to melt the print.
That is awesome!!!! I just found your files on Thingverse!! Going to give it a shot! Thank you.
Omg amazing! I just watched the show I collect guns and cars from movies for my youtube channel. I since i can not buy this i will make this boat. My friend can 3d print it Can you tell me the best fillement and settings ?
Sure! this is printed in PLA, but I consider that PETG is better. Print with a 0.6mm nozzle for more resistence.
@@HappyDude1 hi fella see your wishing to print the scarab vice boat I do have a spare sticker sheet for it you see it on my build of it if interested
@@dooce100 I'm going to paint it 😁
You did a great job on it ! I'm still making one in fiberglass in the same size with 2 small brushless motors
Cool, thanks! I think it's going to go faster
For sale? ...
Hola! No, no está a la venta. He publicado los archivos en Thingiverse para que puedas hacerla tu mismo.
Seriously awesome boat, nice work!! I know it’s partially hand built but can you share some the stl files for the detail bits?
Thank you! Yes I can! Here you are: www.thingiverse.com/thing:6368501 Enjoy!
Wow, awesome build! Thanks for sharing ✌️
My pleasure!
Sir, I grew up watching that show, and I was always disappointing when they changed world craft models, but then I fell in love with that turquoise blue, the black and purple screen machine on the water. Is there any way that I can purchase a set of the instructions and the code, so that I may duplicate that model as you have done? That would probably be the last model that I ever purchased or that I work on. If you follow that boat and the history of it, the full-size craft was purchased by a gentleman out of Puerto Rico, but I believe that boat began its journey here in Florida and was salvaged. There were two of them used on the show, and one of them was so far beaten to hell that it was not recoverable, but the one that the gentleman has down there in Puerto Rico it even sports, the plaque of which episodes it aired in and for how long it ran and worked on the show. It wasn’t scarabs or Wellcraft’s fastest cigarette. I believe it only had twin 550s, but being that perfect size of 38 feet which I believe is the perfect size for a cigarette and yes there are many who are going to argue 40,45, and even 50 truly do make, an eye-catching vessel but further maneuverability and just pure wave jumping fun there is nothing like a 38 foot, I don’t care which brand you get cigarette powered with at least 12 to 1500 horses either fully abreast in the transom or staggered in the center line, but for it to truly be a cigarette, it’s gotta have that through the transom water cooled exhaust . The go fast boat as the Bohemians call them. facebook.com/38ScarabKV/
First of all, thank you for sharing all this knowledge with me. I don't have any doubt that you are a huge fan!!! I'm glad to know we share the same passion for this Speedboat; and Miami Vice as well. I personally think it belongs to a museum for all of us to admire as a piece of TV history. Sincerely, when I replicated it, I thought of fans around the world like me. Unfortunately, I don't have instructions or "step by step" but, I´ve published the files for you to download for free. With those you can build your own!. Just you need a 3d printer and a lot of patience. Go for it! www.thingiverse.com/thing:6230116
Fantastic work, that's beautiful model and nicely made.
Thank you! Glad you like it! It took a long time...
This is really cool, nice work! If you want to go a huge amount faster (as it doesn't seem like it is really planing) then a brushless motor and esc of the right size would turn it into a comparative missile. Think the prop on it is a surface drive one from the look of it so won't be the best thing for the job compared to a sub surface drive prop, but either way it looks great as it is, am just giving a few tips in case you did actually want it to go fast. Thanks also for sharing the files - keep up the good work!
Thank you! I really appreciate your comment. Basically I wanted to keep the scale as much as possible in terms of speed as well. Nevertheless, a little more speed perhaps would suits it well... But yes, I could try by changing the hardware as you mention.
Where did you get the kit from? I love this
Well, thank you. This is not a kit, I've made it with a 3d printer and you can build your own if you want. Just go to www.thingiverse.com/thing:6230116 and download the files. These are the items I recommend to use: Transmitter and Receiver amzn.to/459tcJr Brushed Motor 27T (lower T values, like 4.5T, will results in a much faster boat with less torque) amzn.to/48tMuMF Brushed Marine ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) amzn.to/3EZUpUm Standard Steering Servo amzn.to/3PZKeFq Battery NiMH amzn.to/3EXlQ0X Battery plug adapter amzn.to/3PVKgOP Transmission Coupler amzn.to/3rxgLcC Stainless Steel Straw (as Shaft Tube) amzn.to/46qN8ct Bicycle Spoke (Shaft) amzn.to/46xWOBA
That's sweet as hell, well done! Two questions... PLA for the hull? I would have thought PETG would do better.. you think the paint/finish is sufficient protection? Also.. what about the electronics? As someone who has a 3D printer, and loves Miami Vice, this has me genuinely stoked to make - but I have no knowledge on RC boat kits (I assume such things exist). At a minimum (in terms of monetization) you could add affiliate links to such products, or, build up your own website/store etc. but a hint would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! Thank you for leaving your message! I'm glad to know that you liked it and you want to build it. PETG is definitely a better option, besides is water resistant. In terms of protection that the paint provides, it is sufficient; but I also added a clear finishing coat. The hardware on this boat is simple. These are the items I recommend: Transmitter and Receiver amzn.to/459tcJr Brushed Motor 27T (lower T values, like 4.5T, will results in a much faster boat with less torque) amzn.to/48tMuMF Brushed Marine ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) amzn.to/3EZUpUm Standard Steering Servo amzn.to/3PZKeFq Battery NiMH amzn.to/3EXlQ0X Battery plug adapter amzn.to/3PVKgOP Transmission Coupler amzn.to/3rxgLcC Stainless Steel Straw (as Shaft Tube) amzn.to/46qN8ct Bicycle Spoke (Shaft) amzn.to/46xWOBA I hope this information is useful to you. Be well!
