Sernftalbahn, von Schwanden nach Elm
Die Sernftalbahn hat im Bergkanton Glarus, Schwanden mit Elm verbunden. Die Bahn war von 1905 bis 1969 in Betrieb.
Diese Normal-8-Aufnahmen meines Vaters stammen wohl aus dem Ende der aktiven Zeit der Bahn. Wir begleiten den Zug am Schwanden bis Elm, und dann wohl zurück nach Engi, dem Heimatort meines Vaters.

Am 7. Mai 2021 hat eine Gruppe Modellbahner die grossartige Anlage "Chemins de fer du Kaeserberg" bei Fribourg besichtigt. Wir hatten eine "private-Session" und somit genügend Platz. Der Film ist entsprechend ruhig von den Hintergrundgeräuschen;-).

Great Layout from Bruce Chubb and his Team, located in Grand Rapids. I visited this model railroad twice with my son. This is the part 1, chasing a Southern Pacific freight train. The layout is located in the basement of Bruce's privat house. We where very proud to "be a part of the team". We hope, to visit this great layout again.

Cruise ship MSC Opera is leaving the port of Katakolon. We chase her with our DJI Inspire 1. But there are also other ships in the harbour. The norwegian Jade and a smaller cruise ship. Cool aerial Video, filmed with a pilot and a camera operator, last october (2015) in Greece.

Schöner film
Die Sernftalbahn war in mehrfacher Hinsicht etwas ganz Besonderes, aber deren Zeit ist eben auch vorbei, zumal diese großenteils nicht auf eigenem Bahnkörper, sondern in Straßenseitenlage trassiert war. Übrigens ist das Dach der elektrischen Triebwagen nur deshalb stets blitzblank geblieben, weil die Sernftalbahn bis zur Einstellung mit Aluminium-Schleifstücken statt mit solchen aus Kohle gefahren ist.
Ich hätt die Bahn nur zu gern erläbt, findes hütt na mega schön das wenigstens d Bahnhöf erhalte sind. Gruess usem Chlytal
@@Samuel.BachmannIn dieser Form hatte die Sernftalbahn keine Chance mehr: Von kurzen Teilstrecken abgesehen, verlief deren Trasse weitgehend im Straßenplanum mit örtlich extrem engen Stellen (Matt!); dazu kam die der Bahngesellschaft per Konzession auferlegte Räumpflicht der Straße im Winter - nach der Umstellung auf Busbetrieb hat sich jetzt vermutlich der Kanton darum zu kümmern.
Unscharf und die Tiefenschärfe fehlt komplett. Schade.

Hallo Roland Tut mir leid, dass Du von Smilestones enttäuscht und wütend bist. Weswegen bist Du enttäuscht und wütend? Ich bin übrigens nicht Smilestones - und habe auch keine Verbindungen dazu. Mir persönlich gefällt die Anlage mit den vielen Schweizer Details sehr gut. Ich finde, sie habend es gut umgesezt, mit viel Herzblut und Humor. Das Personal ist freundlich und manchmal haben sie Zeit für einen kurzen Schwatz. Würde mich freuen, wenn Du Smilestones eine Chance geben könntest. In meinen Augen haben sie die verdient. Wünsche Dir einen guten Abend und einen guten Wochenstart.

Danke😀. Ja, es macht immer wieder Spass, dort zu sein. Ist nicht ganz das MiWuLa, dafür viel näher und ebenfalls mit viel Herzblut gebaut.

It certainly gives the hobby a reason to exist: to run trains prototypically. Many don't have this kind of space but there is still a way to operate in the same concept and spirit. By getting Bruce Chubb's book, "How to Operate Your Model Railroad" you will be able to synthesize it to fit your layout too.

I saw this at the Grand Rapids national convention. Although I missed the op sessions, Bruce allow me to run a train across the system during my 4 hour (!) visit. I would love to go back and run on this layout in the future.

Nice to see the Sunset Valley's F units are still working.
The Stewart and Hobbytown units on this layout will likely never die. Especially if I'm around to continue maintenance on them. I just wont allow it lol. Well, maybe the Hobbytown RS units in SV paint... but only because I have better detailed and sound equipped Kato units to replace them. Of course, they still wont die, just retire.

4:36 Those Sunset Valley F units are good pullers! Even a single locomotive can still pull the entire train when they cut away the first two for whatever reason.

Hallo Sehr schöner Film . Was ich allerdings als störend finde, ist das die Elektroloks auf Strecken fahren wo keine oberleitung vorhanden ist, und bei Strecken mit oberleitung fahren diese mit abgesenkten Panthografen. Ansonsten super Gruß Frank
