Communicating constantly with spiritual beings ... relatives or anyone. They're not your Creator, The Creator. John 15:26 is The Way. The Relationship with God, your Creator, The Creator, needs to be a person's goal in this life - traveling alongside God is important to assure a best path in our eternal journey.

I love this kind of thing. The blending of author's work passions into Sci-Fi writing. I read an indie book (soft sci-fi) called Engaged at Dawn, which was written by a 20 year veteran of the Coast Guard, and was about a cutter doing drug interdiction and finding aliens. No mainstream publisher would pitch or buy that, but indie is able. I've been interested in ants, and now am writing a serial called Space Ants, (audio released serials on my channel) which is a zero-tech biological novella.

Lot of comments I have for this episode haha. Definitely can't resist some good space trilogy references. It's crazy how many things Lewis and Tolkien retold in their own way, or just straight put up in their works. Tolkien's inspirations were wide and varied, maybe not as much as Lewis in some sense though. With stuff from Beowulf, the concept of Middle Earth, and even Earendil being another myth that was a large starting chunk of his world. Lewis is much more blatant with it, which is also interesting. I was just reading through Prince Caspian the other day and Bacchus (Dionysus) of all the random old roman gods shows up. And of course the Merlin stuff, or even in the Magician's Nephew, the rings are said to have their origin in Atlantis. On the note of transcendence. I totally get that. I feel that not only in the creation scene in Magician's Nephew, but also especially at the end of the last battle. It is truly stepping outside this reality and seeing things as they truly are/could be, and it's quite emotional. I have been switching to writing more in poetry for that very reason, to try and express those things better. An interesting thing I picked up in regard to Lewis was a book called 'Planet Narnia'. It's some scholar kind of tying the different Narnia books to different planet attributes that Lewis was into. Also tying in some of his space trilogy and poetry. It's quite fascinating and gave me a new appreciation for how well versed Lewis was of the world and old stories and ways of thinking. Anyways, thanks for the episode. Cheers

Thanks for the comments! You're in good company if you like those authors :). You bring up an interesting point regarding taking something that already exists and extrapolating on it creatively, vs. creating your own thing. Every artist has their own niche.
