brief summary religious walks are common in certian cultures and religions, for example, the catholic camino de santiago in spain. the 88 temples is a walk done in shikuko in japan. it is a spiritual walk through which pilgrims experience a deeper conection with themselves and the buddist principles. it is a beautiful practice that inherently follows principles in japanese minimalism, such as a connection with nature and a reduction of material possessions. on the walk, you can take only what is necessary, and must have a humble disposition to complete it. it was beautiful to me how many pilgrims found value not just in the walk, but in shikoku natives who were kind to the pilgrims. for instance, the family that invited the traveler in for some tea. pilgrims are surrounded by the very people they wish to become. as a future goal of mine, i would love to complete the walk of the 88 temples.

Beautiful to watch again... I remember watching your video for the first time, which actually was before I was about to embark on the path of the 88 Temples last year. A mind-blowing experience which will stay with me my whole life, as I know Kobo Daishi will stay and continue to walk with me for the ultimate pilgrimage called Life. I took me 44 days to completely walk the complete 88 Temples, of which I'm beyond grateful. Shikoku's Nature is truly breathtaking and the warmth and hospitality of Shikoku's people can still bring a tear of joy to my eyes. To walk the Path is quite the endeavour, yet is something I can only encourage to do so. If you're reading this and are considering to go; don't think and just do it. No need to overthink or plan too much, it will show itself. And...the younger you are, the better! Sometimes I feel a pilgrimage is considered for an older demographic. Which then keeps a certain image in place, as a younger audience only sees the older group doing such things, therefore thinking it's not for them. I deeply believe this is a false image and am convinced the younger you are, the better. Having the physical strength to embark on such adventure, and to have a complete life ahead of you, in which the lessons of walking Shikoku's 88 Temples will become cornerstones of wisdom and reflection. I am 41 as this moment, and still very young compared to most pilgrims, but I can only imagine how much this pilgrimage will benefit your life if you decide to walk Shikoku when, for example, you're around 18 years old. Marking it an initiatory transition of walking into your life as an adult. Thanks again Gian for your video, as re-watching it closed the loop for me.

Did I understand correctly - that you did the entire 88 temple pilgramage in 21 days? I thought the average was 45 - 55 days? How is it possible to do it in 21 days?

A Perati mio padre vedeva la JULIA attaccare, conquistare le posizioni. Per poi ritirarsi, mancavano le munizioni. Per riattaccare e ritirarsi ancora. Per lui della artiglieria da montagna, gli alpini della Julia erano eroi, distrutti e ricreati più volte. Ma nessuno di loro amava la guerra, facevano il loro dovere. JULIA.

la rabbia viene dal sapere che migliaia di ragazzi furono mandati a morte con equipaggiamenti inadatti e insufficenti, i rifornimenti boicottati alla partenza dall'Italia, sia per i soldati in Albania che URSS. I tedeschi avevano camion per spostamenti rapidi, gli italiani si spostavano a piedi...scarponi di cartone, uniformi di tela..e nessun generale pago' per questa vergogna.
