Mostly retro, action and fps gaming. Glitches, walkthroughs, longplays. Some cooking and tech.
Racedriver: GRID on Intel HD 2500 | Optimized Settings for low-end PC | 720p/30 fps
Racedriver: GRID (2008) running on Intel HD 2500 Integrated graphics at the best possible settings for decent gameplay.
--------------
Please note: ** THIS IS NOT A BENCHARK OR "CAN IT RUN...?" VIDEO **
-------------
This video is part of a series whose goal is to document as many games as possible that could run comfortably on the Intel HD 2500 graphics. Computers with these chipsets are already more than 10 years old and are becoming too weak even for simple tasks like office work and web browsing.
But the thing is, you can still have lots of fun on these systems if you install the right games, so i'm gonna show you as many as possible and we'll try to configure them just the right way so they feel good to play.
*** Some general rules ***
- No forced muddy potato visuals through config files or driver settings.
- No upscaling / Dynamic resolution.
- Minimum resolution and framerate: 720p/30 fps. Short, small frame drops are allowed as long as they do not disrupt the gameplay too much.
- Cutscenes don't count.
- Proper aspect ratio.
- FPS limiter applied with MSI Afterburner. It helps with mantaining consistent motion in games and to prevent thermal throttling, specially on laptop CPUs.
- I'll try to apply only ingame settings as possible, with the exception of some simple mods and source ports.
- Games that can't reach 720p/30 at their lowest settings won't make the cut. Sorry Cyberpunk 2077.
You may notice some stutters here and there, it's just the captured video and doesnt reflect gameplay perfoemance. Just look at the Performance overlay for reference.
I'm also capturing the gameplay through OBS, so the real performance might be slightly better running only the game.
*** TEST SYSTEM ***
Lenovo ThinkCentre M92P Tiny PC
- CPU: Intel Core i5-3470T 2.9GHz
- RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz (2x4GB)
- Storage: Sandisk Ultra II 480GB SATA SSD
- OS: Windows 10 with the latest drivers
Note: This mini computer uses a low power chipset, so performance on desktop systems with the same iGPU might be slightly better.

About GRID:
Race Driver: Grid known outside of Europe as Grid is a 2008 racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, arcade, Java ME and OS X. It is the first game in the Grid series.
It is a game in which the player runs their own race team, acting as the primary driver. As players progress they gain sponsors and can hire a teammate to drive alongside them in certain events.
Grid features a gameplay mechanic known as Flashback which allows the player to rewind gameplay by up to ten seconds and resume from their chosen point, similar to the "rewind" ability in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
