My girlfriend and I always watch this movie for her birthday. We're both big fans of 80's movies and this is one of her favorite 80's movies. For Valentines Day, we watch "Mannequin" For Halloween time, we watch "Ghostbusters 1&2", "The Goonies", "Beetlejuice." For Christmas time, we watch "Christmas Vacation," "A Christmas Story," "Scrooged", For summer time, we watch "National Lampoon's Vacation," "The Great Outdoors" "Summer Rental"(all movies that have John Candy, one of our favorite actors.) We watch movies from other time periods for these occasions but 80's movies are always included in them.

Sam's not going to the reception. Well, it'll probably be worse than the wedding. Her sister, the bride, was hopped up on muscle relaxers and reception's always have a lot of alcoholic drinks so it'll probably be worse than the wedding anyway. Her father seems okay with her going off with Jake. After all, he and his wife both know that they forgot her birthday so letting her go off to have some fun is the least they can do. Although, I'm sure they'll make it up to her by getting her gifts and taking her out to dinner later on.

What really touched my heart was the expression on the dads face where he sees his daughter having a dream come true moment and I also feel like he let her not go to the reception to be with her dream guy as a way to make up for forgetting her birthday
