An orphaned ground squirrel I cared for after a dear human rescued him. I found another rehabber with one his age so he went to live with her. It is best if ground squirrels can be raised with their species. They are very social!

Spirit came down with something that caused him to stop eating and playing. Had a trip to the emergency vet on Sunday. He seems to be slowly coming back to normal but still isn't well

Thistle was born in captivity at another facility. She can't be released so this will be her forever home. A great place with lots of love!

Two of my favorite Jenn Colella videos. First one, I wanted her to sing a song called "Reach Deep" She wrote the lyrics. Sony records wouldn't let her sing the whole song so she told me would sing a few bars. She picked the best part of the song! The second, I had asked her to sing a few bars of a song she sometimes sings in her concerts. Great lyrics by Amanda Green.

Otter naming ceremony at Wildlife Images 7/28/23

The two otters were captured in Louisiana because they were considered nuisance animals. They were raiding crayfish farms and were going to be killed. They were rehomed to Wildlife Images, a wildlife rehabilitation and education center in Merlin Oregon. The winner of an auction/fundraiser to name them was Terri Irwin. Their names are Mitch and Luke.

I was able to check off the top two things off my bucket list, seeing Jenn Colella in concert and meeting her after the show. I got the best hug ever!! This was in San Francisco at Feinstein's at the Nikko July 1, 2023. I drove 6 hours to see her then drove home right after the show. It was more than worth it!! I drove 6 hours to San Francisco to see Jenn Colella perform live at Feinstein's at Nikko. It was fabulous! I tried to see her in concert the last time she was on the west coast 3 years ago, but my car broke down! So this was even more special for me!

I feel the same way! When I worked at Wildlife images 2000 to 2005 we got in several but I don't think they have had more than one between then and now!

Why would she get kidney disease so young?
The vet first thought maybe she ate something toxic like lillies but she hadn't been outside for at least a month. So then they suggested it was genetic!

it's amazing how elevation plays such a big part in snowfall. When I was a kid we lived at 2,200 outside of Jacksonville and one storm we got two feet and Medford barely had like 2 inches
Are you snowed in? We are. 18” on our mile long driveway.
Do you bury or cremate lost charges? The rehabilitaters we turned a rabbit over to didnt permit the release of any remains and had a volunteer cremation service dispose of passed animals. I was wondering what is available for you where you live.
Do you have them autopsied for medical comprehension? House Rabbit gained a good deal of informed knowledge for investigating the remains of lost fosters. It would be good to know why they fail or what their condition is, especially the young ones.
