TampaBay TERRIBLE….Beaches and Gulf water are NASTY…relocated there 3 times for career. NEVER AGAIN…We TOTALLY hated it..VERY HOSTILE PLACE TO LIVE..Heat and humidity are UNLIVABLE. Traffic, bugs, snakes, alligators, and hurricanes.

As a N.C. native living in the Tampa/Lutz area since 1995, I can attest that the things you state are true, although maybe somewhat overstated. However, your body will get acclimated to the summer temps and humidity over time. Actually, the highest temps we normally encounter in the summer near the coasts is usually around 93 deg F, which is much less than the over 100 deg temps I encountered at times in my native state, although, yes, the humidity is higher. I have become so acclimated to this over the years that I now keep my indoor thermostat at 81 deg in the summer and around 76 in the winter with a small fan to circulate the air and I am most comfortable with that. In my opinion, the worst change I've encountered in the past 29 years since moving here by far is the amount of traffic increase over that period. It seems that EVERYONE now wants to move here with the 4 and 5 story "stack and pack" large apt/condo complexes going up seemingly everywhere in the past few years as proof of that. The adage, "Build it and they will come" has been true for Tampa since I've been here. As for myself, I have no intentions of ever leaving this area despite its current drawbacks. The pluses really do outweigh the negatives, at least for me. No state income tax is also a big plus.

As an American expat living in the Philippines its summer time and it gets super hot 95 degrees, we have typhoons, heavy rainy season, I'm leaving for the USA in June 2024.

Tampa and Florida in general, are falling apart in nearly every demographic known to man. What a mess. Glad i left years ago.

Yawn, boring, everyone knows Florida is hot humid and has a lot of sun, it's also pretty common knowledge about the alligators, mosquitos and hurricanes.

Sprout some mountains, build state wide air conditioned dome, and dispose of critters. Then I may consider moving back 😂

Live in South Fl for 10 years and fl has changed a lot !! Has become very expensive , insurances , crazy drivers , rude people , customer service does not exist !! People speaks only espanol , this is Latin American not fl anymore , we have beautiful beaches and weather but that’s is that’s why we are relocating !!! I feel like I’m living in Cuba no thank you

Not apples to apples. You said 100k in Tampa vs 100k in Sacramento, but people make more in Cali, right? And Cali has better jobs, right? I've been in Tampa and Florida for a while and have met a ton of people. We've benefited from tourism and the snowbirds, but I don't see many people outside of healthcare making good money. Our food scene is just getting better, but definitely not like San Fransisco and LA yet. Also, the summer weather was awful last year. The parks aren't that great to go to compared to many areas in Cali. We don't have mountains and such. I have several friends who lived in Florida and moved to Cali for many reasons. Florida was better until recently (home prices, insurance rates for cars and homes are crazy). We don't appear to be getting any of the really good jobs. I could be wrong, but I'm not seeing it. I've done pretty much everything here, and I don't see many people explaining it as enthusiastically these days. I would love to hike and such, but had a way better time hiking in other places like Cali.

Ridiculous Property taxes, and outrageous insurance costs. Record houses listed for sale, with more and more listing each day in Florida. I'll stay in my paid off house in Los Angeles, and save money in the bank.

I used to like Florida but any time I'm in Miami there are crazy drivers driving 120 MPH and no cops. Also, if you drive like 45 mins expect people driving into your lane. No problems with Tampa/Clearwater. It's okay. Prefer Palm Beach but I rather be in Laguna Beach/Newport Beach.

I prefer Hallandale beach Florida beautiful city good beaches and restaurants and growing businesses and communities, and good nightlife.🙌🏻🇺🇸
