With the neck finished it's time to take a look at the body in all it's glory, and try to make it glorious.

I got a little bit side tracked trying some different and experimental techniques, but there is some progress been made and some problems been solved.

A lot of focus of the neck today, and occasionally a new camera literally on the neck. Edit: I've chopped a chunk out of this video because I presented some information about the theory of intonation and a lot of trolls came out of their cave to tell me that I'm the stupidest person who ever lived and that I should delete my channel and they can't believe I get paid for this crap etc etc. I do ...

I finally got started on my holiday build for this year, and I finally get to reveal what it is that I'm making this time.

After several delays and failed attempts at homemade hardware, I force this thing across the finish line using any means available.

I'm making it up as I go, not going to lie to you. I wanted to try using UV resin to seal a fretless fingerboard so I did a test run on some spare parts and it came out better than I could've hoped for, so I think it's important to say that I'm not always pulling amazing stuff out of my a , this could've gone badly wrong. The week we take a broken Hohner B2 bass and do an experiment with some purple fabric and some UV resin to make a custom rock hard finish.

Today we take apart an old Hohner B2 stick bass and use it's parts to make other basses better.

It's done - for now anyway. with just a few little things to touch up but it's finally complete. In the last episode of the series I run you through my process for 3D printing a pickup and make a body brace, and we have a serious look at using UV cure resin as a wood finish. I ran out of time to do a full scale multicamera widescreen 4k video this week, so I threw this together in a few hours. Oh, and the bass is coming along nicely too.

Just like it says in the video title, in this episode I carved the neck, then carved the body, installed binding, and had a play with stains. Includes a minimum of both sanding and torso.

Armed with the experience of building and playing an electric upright, as well as buying and playing a lot of double bass in the last 18 months I'm in a much better position to build a much better bass.
