Hiya Lauren. I am enjoying your videos. I use Square and offline mode as I am a small business person. Doing IT work and DJ / Sound and lighting as a side business. Offline mode is a service that you have to turn on in the dashboard from your account. Basically it ques up the payments you accepted then when you get wifi internet or data connection it runs the payments. One bit of advice I been giving out is to get two devices if your a small business. A battery station or soler generator as there sometimes called. This is so useful for when you need power and a working outlit isnt hear by. Or in the case of power loss you can run your POS and pc or laptop on it. Second is a mobile hotspot or starlink. If your internet goes down or you have spotty coverage then with the battery backup you should be able to take payments. I personally use Anker or Eco Flow for but there is a lot in the space. I would get biggest capacity that you can safely carry. They tend to run around 1 to 3K USD per unit. I Hope this helps you out and anyone that is reading this comment. 😊

I didn’t know that you don’t just do beauty for the brides and you do makeup for anyone who wants to learn. What a genius idea to cater part of your business to just brides so you amazing doing that and they’re not just going to a regular salon that might do maybe two brides a year. The make up industry and make up sales are up so much because everyone is now getting into make up. I wish you were in my city because I would definitely hire you to teach me some make up tips. I did leave you a message on the other video and it’s very very long and I’m sorry for that. I explained what type of business I am opening and I asked you a couple questions. The first one is where to advertise to people that might not live in my state. The other question was do you advertise on Pinterest and if so, how do you do that? Hi Lauren. I just found your channel and I’m so happy that I found you. I have a duplex that has 4 apartments ( 2 each side and one upstairs and one downstairs. I have set up the bottom apartments on each side and have made it into the required safety features that the state of Maryland has put into effect. ( I have been working in the Geriatrics field for over 25 years, have my degree in Geriatrics and healthcare management, and I also I am a licensed administrator for an Assisted Living facility.) I am opening up the first floor apartments as an Enhanced Senior Living. It is a in between a senior living and independently in their home and not exactly to the level of needing an assisted living facility. I wanted to explain how this is going to work and what it is. I have always worked in a nursing home or an administrator in an assisted living facility. This is the first time I will have my own business. It is so very scary because the model I have created is not in existence anywhere I am aware of. I saw that it was needed so I have been working for about two years and now we will be able to take in seniors in the next couple of months. I also am really interested in starting a TH-cam channel where I could answer questions from families who are facing placing their elderly family members in a facility. I could explain how Medicare works and any other questions, help with resources, and any advice they would have. If I am local to the families then they can hire me to help find placement if they are needing that or if they are already in a facility, then I can go to wherever they are and get their loved ones charts and make sure that the facilities they are in are doing the best care possible for their loved ones. I do do some of that now and most of my clients hire me from other states and their loved one is placed in my state in a facility. I’m so happy to hear from a business owner. My biggest question is where would you advertise on line? I definitely would love your help to get in front of out of town family members who have someone in a facility. And how do people find you on Pinterest? Also any other social media platforms would you recommend??? Thank you so much. I have to tell you that you have an amazing business and you have concentrated on a very specific and one of the most important parts of the bride and bridal party for the wedding day. I am guessing you were like me and saw a need instead of the bride and bride party. Just going to a salon. You actually cater to those specific clients and it makes you even more amazing because you’re constantly practicing the thing that you do. What a genius idea. No, is not the best. You cannot pay multiple invoices with one payment . Is so annoying to cancel the invoices and create one invoice to be able to process the payment

I have events - I do not give refunds but do offer another event of the same price (of their choice, date , time) . This is on my checkout site. So they know ahead of time.

Your video popped up on my homepage and I've been thinking about making a similar video, so I watched. I don't have such a large space for my office setup, but I make a corner of what used to be our living room-but turned to our daughter's play area-work. Having an actual desk made content creation SO MUCH easier and allowed me to be more consistent! ☺

I updated my bank info. then used the Sq. CC reader for a transaction of over $200. That was 11/11. Sq. continues to say they cannot verify my bank acct. My bank says they see NO time that Sq. attempted to debit or deposit into my edited acct. I've been totally unable to contact Sq. by phone to talk to a HUMAN. I called the number given online and that number ended up being for CashApp who said they don't handle Sq. bus. I've emailed them numerous times. I even went online to find out who owns Square. It came back that a bank in Calif. owns it. I called that bank and they said they don't have an affiliation with business dealings with Square. So. now we can't even talk with a human owner. Go figure. I've done everything they requested "by email" numerous, numerous times. I've even reported the situation to the Better Business Bureau. I've also requested (via email and chat (with an android)) that Sq. send me a check - which they haven't. Funny though, they keep sending ads for me to open a checking acct with Sq. If they cannot handle a simple transaction in a months time, why would me or any one else trust them with a checking acct. This is even causing me to not know how to handle tax, since the tax the customer paid is being held by Square and I'd have to pay the tax out of pocket. I am a small business and cannot afford this kind of problem. Still, NO HUMAN CONTACT and SQUARE STILL HAS NOT SENT ME MY MONEY. Square is an ANDROID SCAM OPERATION. RUN, RUN, AS FAST AS YOU CAN. DON'T LET THEM TAKE YOUR MONEY. DON'T LET THEM RUIN YOUR BUSINESS.

Why did you not just start using Dubsado for everything?

First off, it IS possible to have your legal (personal) name and business name changed. I know this from first hand (personal) experience from December 2022. It wasn’t easy and it took A LOT of calling in, I threaten to leave Square by 12/31 because if they weren’t able to have it changed, I would switch to another merchant. What you need to do: Be sure that your legal name is updated in the IRS system and reflected on your EIN. Do NOT add your new legal name as an Authorized Representative and transfer the business to that account. This would also involve creating a new account under that name. This doesn’t work…why? Because only your name is changed, the system will see a duplicate EIN when you create a new account and it will cause issues. This also locked me out of using Square Payroll for over a month. I never used Square Payroll again, I switched to another Payroll service on 1/1/23. You NEED to get in touch with Tier 3 support and/or someone who has permission to remove all system blocks so you can make this change. That seems to be the only way. Keep in mind that if you have any other services with Square (Payroll, e-commerce, etc) they run independently of each other so this change is not streamlined across your Square accounts. I don’t want to scare you, but I must have called in between 80-100 times that month to make this happen. I didn’t understand why this was so difficult, I knew I couldn’t be the only one in the world who has done this. Do NOT let them say that it isn’t possible. It’s not possible for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, but it can be done. I can message you my account before and after reflecting the changes. I might also have my messages from Square. It was the same way with paypal, you had to send them a written letter to get it changed. Now you can submit foe name change online through them now thank goodness.

Does Square have a history of deplatforming people? PayPal is notorious for withhold funds. And I think Stripe was the company that deplatformed people for political reasons. Or it could have been Square.

This is BS. That’s why we need a POS system that you pay for the product and that’s it no fees or subscriptions. Systems like these only hinder small businesses. Subscription based society only benefits the people at the top, and they will bleed all of us dry like the money hungry vampires they are.
