i think this might be the textbook "yasuified" touhou song to ever exist it's not substantially different from the original in tone, but you can tell what makes it distinctly yasui in how it's mixed in general, and in the second loop of the chorus stuff like this is really useful when trying to be analytical but also i'm just takin in the sweet FM

I listened to this song back in High School. It opened my eyes to a new side of Tracker Music

Yuzo Koshiro was always a legend among OST composers and his work in the Streets Of Rage series was a prime example. he was originally going to do more of a cinematic score for the series but when he traveled to the states and visited a few clubs in LA he discovered a new (to him) genre of music and fell in love with it so he made the SOR soundtrack inspired by the funky electronic house beats that were at their peak at the time and it was a style that was unheard of in Japan at the time so it fit perfectly. oh and the reason his name appears on the title screen instead of one of the devs names? well apparently his mother actually ran Sega and she made them do it. true story, research it. in fact, his entire family were the leading part of the team behind the entire SOR series, with Yuzo in charge of soundtrack, his mother behind producing and marketing, and his sister behind the artwork and character's stories.
