Smash Bros Melee but it's Super Mario 64
just a recommendation (a very late one also) but do not use a usb stick but instead a proper external hard drive
That's what I've been hearing! Once I've got the extra cash to snag another hard drive, i plan on switching
Great video! Didn't watch.
They do go into that detail more in the DS remake game. Shame that the quality of game play dipped in it.
I loved my Wii U back then. Took it with me everywhere and spend hours gaming on it. Although, I wasn't so into the vWii on it, mainly because I was never allowed to use any TV screen and playing on the Gamepad alone wasn't possible (still isn't, even with Homebrew - but hopefully one day). There is a setup with the Gamepad as the "TV screen", but without anything to hold it, it kept falling over and since many Wii games want you wagle that Remote or point it at the sensor bar, it was quite uncomfortable to play anything. There are Wii VC Injections that allow you to use the Gamepad - which is amazing - but I'd still prefer to be able to control everything on my System with it (mainly the Wii Menu itself) and have access to those controls without needing to specifically inject them into every game that allows that...

I just have to say this and I realize i'm 7 months late to this video but here are 2 things BETTER about the Wii U than the Switch 1. The Wii U Had its own web browser 2. You didn't need a frickin internet connection every time you wanted to start up a downloaded game Nintendo is looking for ways to make the switch better, there ya go nintendo.
I bought mine for a little over $200.
5:30 I see no Virtual Boy on the table
Wait said you had a Wii u then you didn't have a Wii u 😅
Banjo,TipTup and Timber are my fav characters
I am 45 years old and have only just got this system. I actually love how jovial it makes me feel! The Wii IS the game we wanted back in 1983!!!!!!!😁❤😁❤😁❤😁
That's awesome! Enjoy it, this system is great 🤘
Fun fact, Nintendo Land is a pack in title with the black Wii U That version was a more expensive version as it comes with more storage, and extra little goodies like a kick stand for the gamepad, a charging stand for the gamepad, a stand for the Wii U, and a physical copy of Nintendo Land. It's the version I got back in 2013-14 and boy howdy I had fun! And not to mention the Minecraft Comunity on that thing! Even after the shut down me and The Bois still hang out on Discord to this day! 💙
6:44 I noticed that none of the batteries where original because the original one is smaller than both of those so that means that at some point in that game pads life the old owners replaced the batteries
Interesting catch!
Believe me because I replaced my Wii U game pad battery and the size was unbelievable between the new one and the old
Aaaand dislike, what a waste of time this video is.
You boight a Wii U in 2023? Weakling. I wait till 2024.
Timber!!! My first n64 game!
Is your Wii U modded?
Gonna have to get one just to play Twilight Princess HD. It caught my eye all the way back when it came out, even though I didn’t start playing video games until recently as an adult, and it’s the Zelda game I’ve always been most keen on experiencing for myself. The art style is so evocative, haunting, and beautiful.
I'm part of the few people who bought a wiiu on launch 💀
Idk online games made me feel lonely in single player games like handhelds 😂
7:56 pretetendo juxt
Timber was always my favorite character to use, even without knowing all this.
And now a lot of the physical Wii U games are like $100+, so RIP.
Yeah that happened fast didn't it? The WiiU boom is happening!
i've had my wii u since 2013 and its always been the go to console for parties or if i want to have fun, its a really good console and i'm glad people are actually talking about the wii u in good ways instead of disliking it like back then
Smash 4 walked so Smash ultimate could run
So true. Smash 4 laid a lot of groundwork for Ultimate! Man I wish they had kept Smash Run from 3DS, that mode rocked
Yes, it will always be worth it, no matter what.
I’m surprised Conker is able to drive with that BAC level
10:57 Funny thing about those analog triggers: The Wii did had analog triggers, it was only on the Original Classic Controller, and to my knowledge it was never used on the console, but you can use them either connecting it to a PC or through modding your Wii (To be used in Gamecube games). Nice video, i can relate so much to you on the history you had with nintendo, i had a similar experience growing up jaja. Greetings.
I wonder what Nintendo had in mind when they made those triggers analog! I bet they considered having gamecube compatibility...
love the video! The Wii U was the only Nintendo console I had and I loved it to death. I just started to play it again and this video really got me happy that people still love the Wii U
Timbers my main
Had no clue. Was too busy drifting those corners. This is cool to know though. Gives me a fresh perspective.
While I love the history, I feel the most life & love hearing Martinet in Kart 64, Golf, & Tennis. Those will always be to me, the TRUE voices
My thoughts on this video in no particular order: I fully agree on wanting specifically designed karts again, kart customization becomes cumbersome when everyone is looking for the best combo and all the kart bodies feel painfully generic; It doesn't help that you can't see all your kart options at once, which could easily be done with pre-made karts. I like the idea of the dynamic item boxes which has technically been done before; DK Pass has a special item box that rewards higher-end items for those who use a mushroom to boost to it. Costumes are good, and I also want Mission Mode back too, with some sort of loose narrative to tie it together into a story mode. I think the Wonder Flower is overrated and people are currently high on Wonder hype. Instaed of a new "gimmick", I'd much rather have a tighter gameplay mechanic that rewards skilled players. Something like maintaining a combo to earn specific items, I don't care what it is as long as it's consistent. As for unique wants, please just give me elimination balloon battle again. I also want the roster to be more creative and draw from sub-series like DK, Yoshi, Luigi's Mansion, and Wario's two series. In specific, characters like K. Rool, Poochy, E. Gadd, and Ashley are my top picks.
Cool video. I wish Wario's German roots were more prominent nowadays, Thomas Spindler's performance is still great even today
Hum why? All WII U best gamew are on Switch...
oh i remember the afterglow console controller days...
Very good! Keep doing more videos just like this and you'll be sure to succeed! There's not a doubt in my mind!
8:05 yk that Nintendo switch has folders right
I have a see through controller that lights up on the switch
They should bring back the score system from Tour. It would be interesting for players to see how high of a score they can get for each track. If they get something like 1,000 points online, they can make it onto a leaderboard to compete against others worldwide. This could also be a cool thing to do in mission mode, if Nintendo brings it back.
Item Ideas #1: Hourglass/Clock (haven't figured out which would work best yet) When used, the item will slow all players to 25% your current speed when used. So if you're going slow, it lets you catch up, if you're going fast, it lets you get a lead. The physics for slowed players work as normal. #2: Mini Pipe This item would allow a player to run directly into a wall while the pipe is active and create their own shortcut through a pipe in the wall, obviously only with one use and only receivable in 9th or lower.
Oh man, I really like these
Your wonder flower idea sounded interesting but I would love to see it done *slightly* differently, in the form of giant Mario Pipes that you drive through and on the other end is *completely* different course. Maybe something from a past MK game, like going into SNES Rainbow Road from Yoshi Circuit or something.
TBH I like the Wii u
I count myself among the people who got a wii u closely to launch. While nowadays I have a healthy balance of Nintendo, Playstation and PC, Nintendo was my go to go console back in the day, simply because of affordability and knowing that the games I got would always be a blast. When Wii came out, I enjoyed it immensely with my siblings. From Mario Galaxy to Metroid, Zelda and Smash bros. So when the Wii U was announced, I was really excited for it and already had my eyes on a few games, some already known or teased down the line: -Xenoblade Chronicles X -Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate -Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge -Smash Bros. -The HD Zelda Games -Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze -Darksiders 2 And more were on their way. I had my trusty pro controller for games that didn't need the gamepad, yet the latter was not uncomfortable and playing Xenoblade with it worked perfectly. There were a few hiccups at the beginning though, like the country I am living in banning Ninja Gaiden due to excessive violence. A bit funny considering Rise of the Ronin or other more violent games existing nowadays, but times always change. Also there was one game that I remember having had interest in, which I had heard turned out as a mess upon release and quickly forgotten. At some point I noticed that, unlike the predecessors, support seemed to quickly die. Some of the big hitters came relatively late in the wii u's life and could perhaps have saved it, if an earlier release was possible. Then the switch was announced. I didn't get a switch immediately on release I was already invested in the PS4 at that point. But I enjoyed the Wii U massively. It had some incredible gems and still has. The miiverse was great. Honestly some of the best online interaction I ever had with a community when I compare it nowadays. Once I have the room available, I want to get the Wii U out of retirement, research what the modding community had been up to, update it and have a good time again. Though I have to do something about the sticks on the gamepad though XD
obsessed with your visions of how to freshen up the series!! honestly… i want those damn fake item boxes back from double dash. placing them riiiight where the real ones spawn was so satisfying
YES. I always wonder why nintendo got rid of them instead of innovating on it!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks Mario Kart X could be the title, my friends act like I’m insane when I suggest that as a possibility.
I also agree with your opinion on kart customization, it was a neat gimmick for 7/8, but I’d rather see something different for the next one (especially if it wants to find its own identity not connected to 8, since 8 is gonna be a high bar to cross)
Like your idea for coins unlocking stuff on the track. Reminds me of a really cool PSP game called Split Second. I personally think some form of Double Dash might make a comeback due to the DS-like rumours around the next Switch.
The Wii U ran straight into the ground so the Switch could awkwardly limp suprisingly quickly. The Wii U has superior build quality, more personality, backwards compatibility, and crwative use of their best controllers ever, the wiimotes. You could play any game immersively with built in speakers, rumble, 100% accurate motion tracking, and many accesories. The Switch has crappy controllers, a boring design, no backwards compatibility whatsoever, and the controllers are boring. The most interesting thing about the depression-cons is that you can eat a sandwich in one game by chewing physically and moonwalk off a cliff in every other.
Next Mario Kart in May 6, 2026. You heard it here first
If this is true I'll pin the comment on this video in 2026 you have my word
