He was also impossible to work with and would be acting crazy on set. The director said he would pace back and fourth when told to stay still during a scene and would act like a crazy person. Also wanted 2 million for the next back to the future. If your going to act like that then what did he expect

They forgot about him completely! So much so that they named their son Marty after the kid they met in highschool! 😂😂😂

I mean, even as a 7 year-old kid in 1985 I understood they're going to forget what someone who they only knew for a week 30 years ago looked like. They didn't seem to even take any pictures of him. So, you know... duh

Honestly I see many reasons for them not recognizing him in the movie. First there's the familiarity argument that some are making which makes a lot of sense. But even if they had suspected him of being the same person, they would have to conclude he went back in time, a thought that would not even occur to 99.99999% of people. However the big problem with all of this, is that you're assuming that they didnt recognize him. We only see his parents in the new future for a couple of minutes in the movie. The probability that they would even bring the subject during this short amount of time is minuscule at best.

Why does Einstein skip that 1 minute & doesn't run into his future 1 minute self--while Marty & Jennifer don't skip directly into that future 30 years & have to avoid encountering themselves? Why didn't the writers/producers apply the same science? In reality--Marty & Jennifer would have been been reported missing since 1985--when they went to 2015. Just sayin'.

Maude Ivory heard the hanging tree and had the same ability that Katniss did to remember anything set to music. I personally believe Lucy Gray is Katniss’s second cousin one removed because Maude Ivory is the paternal grandmother. I never bought the Greasy Sae is Lucy Gray theory but after someone pointed out how similar the names sound has me thinking that can not be a coincidence.

Like you said, maybe they did say to Marty at some point as he was growing up that he reminds them of someone they knew in high school. We wouldn’t know.

The 2 actors for george snd biff were the only main good actors in the movie. Fox simply just ran around being chased but had poor acting skills that he could have been replaced. But since he was popular by then they used him as the guest star in the movie

Without chris back the the future would of failed. Fox was simply suppose to be side kick of the mad scientist but never the main character. Chris was the main actor in the movie but they wanted to pay fox more because of his popularity. Karma took its turn since by the 3rd movie fox was twitching so much he had to hold his arm in place. The 1st movie is the only movie i enjoy but the 2nd one is just a mess with the movie relying on biffs acting skills while fox runs around barely acting and than the hoover board and the self tie nike shoes

I’m 31 and I don’t remember ppls faces from 10 yrs ago but if I saw them again I would be like “holy shit it’s bro from that thing” or if they remembered me & jogged my memory a light bulb would go off. Marty has the same voice & mannerisms from ‘55 to ‘85 how could they not recognize him ?

There's another paradox. When Marty go back to 1985 it's another timeline. So, if his acts on the past influenced his parents lives, it could be exist a another Marty McFly in that reality, because it's not the same timeline that he came from.

Understandable, one of my friend's sister's 9 daughters looks 100% physically identical to her when she was 9 years old!

It's odd they live in the same house with the parents being more successful. Marty should have come home and found himself in someone else's house just like in the second movie when Biff changed the timeline.

Surely the reason why they don't recognise him is obvious. When M returns to the 'improved' timeline, he hasn't 'just arrived' from their perspective, so if they do recognise him, there's no reason why it should be that particular day. Instead, G+L have seen M grow from a baby to w 17yo. Of these 17 years, M has no memory. During those 17 years, at what point would the parents have said 'you know, M is beginning to look like that chap with us in 1955' ? Growing into looking like him would likely be just a gradual process which they would just dismiss.

Question. Why do comments say they named their son "Marty" after the kid who brought them together? Didn't he call himself "Calvin Klein"? It's been a while since I watched the movie.

Maybe they did recognize him but already questioned him in the 'new' timeline before he came back, but since that version of him had no idea of the time machine so had no idea what they were talking about. Make sense?

On the other hand, they DID name their son Marty after that guy from 30 years ago, Marty. I’m sure they remember him, just not the way looks exactly. And also, it’s not like they suddenly meet him, they had the baby and gradually see him grow. And who knows there may have been moments where they said to each other “doesn’t Marty look like Marty from back in the says?” / “yes you’re right baby, I can see that, guess he does resemble him a little bit, aint that funny because we named Marty after him”….or something along those lines. So it pretty much makes sense to me that they didn’t ’recognize’ him.

He may not have been given the script beforehand, but the fact that they filmed the movie twice kind of made that moot. The original version had Eric Stoltz as Marty. So they basically film 2 movies back-to-back that's why in some scenes, the actors look very ragged.

Crispin was an actor. Not a writer, director or story teller. He shouldn’t have say in the direction of the film. Just do as your asked to do as an actor. He blew his career by thinking that he was so important. But no one wants to work with a difficult egomaniac

This is an easy one. Whilst we see Marty in 1955 with Loraine and George then bsck quickly in 1985, you have to remember that from the parents eyes, they will give birth to marty and incrementally see him develop into an adult, and that will displace any memory of someone’s face they once met

Theres always problems with time travel movies because time travel is fictional. Its not possible to travel to the past its already expired theres nothing to travel to.
