😂 Fun listen. There are so many similar thoughts about stuff
What an awful movie
You guys got me hyped for some DC properties. Gunn should do a fantastic job and hopefully push Warner Bros to greatness and force Marvel to get it's groove back. But yeah ...no vibranium in the DCU lol
The Marvels was a lot of fun.
I hated part 2. I forgot so much about this because this was such a let down following how well done part 1 was. Your revisit was fun to hear but damn was this film a let down. Let's talk about Kickass 3 and the Hot girl comics! Sooo much better.
P r o m o s m
I loved this episode. Give us more.
The versions of the turtles in this movie were different from the ones I grew up with, but the core of the characters and what made them iconic was still there. Even Super Fly was a pretty good villain. Overall it was pretty endearing, and fun! So I had a good time with it.
SERRANO 1-82 FA
Everyone loves that ending...ANd yeah the family issues are so very well done, I just love it and even with the drama, we still have the love.
I have been so looking forward to you seeing this episode. I loved it. In fact the only problem I have with it is I wish it was two episodes.
I smiled throughout the entire efit process. This show is GOLDEN
What up!
Its the right for choice for Sarah. As long as Jordan doesn't provide some reasonable reason for all the lying all the ditching all the taking off when they have plans, ect. Obviously we know he's doing a good thing and he isn't doing something shady. But he hasn't given her any legitimate reasons. Realistically he should have thrown out There's stuff going on at home that's connected to his Grandfather (the one she knows was/ is the head of the DOD), knowing that that could easily be military secrets that can't be talked about, and with his Dad gone and Jon in trouble he's needed more at home and because of his grandfather can't have company often. There that's plausible deniability. It at least gives Sarah something to work with. Realistically if you're a teenager or an adult, and your partner bails on you, breaks off dates, can't explain where he is or what he (or she equally valid for both sexes) is doing, that is a huge red flag that means get out of that relationship. Or for that matter if Sarah is telling Kyle some of what she's going through he's absolutely going to be seeing Jordan's behavior reflect his own mistakes. Love the episode, loved it. I would absolutely not want to be Candice anywhere near Lois Lane for lets just say the rest of my natural life...Loved Jordan during this episode. And I absolutely get both John and Nat's view points. John feels terrible about the lose of his wife, he really truly hasn't managed to work through it ye (most of last year was more about either getting vengeance or trying to prevent the same events from happening here.. And keeping your guard up, and protecting yourself is ok, it can give you time to heal. But there are going to be special moments when your child needs to know that you are feeling not only the loss that they feel, but making sure you don't give the impression that your simply forgetting about them and moving on.
I love this episode and boy howdy do we hate Anderson......And damn Jonathan how much worse is it going to get...
I love diggle so much
Yeah Kyle done messed the hell up. Now they haven't had a good marriage for a long while, and I am sure both of their inability at the time to be open and honest about the issues impacting them made their life a hell of a lot worse. But, regardless of the situation what Kyle did was wrong (unless you're in an open relationship, which they absolutely aren't). Lana reaction to what made Kyle stop (without getting caught) is very telling. When Kyle found someone in his family was in trouble, it made him put his family first again. Of course for Lana that means she will never know if Kyle would have ever come to that some conclusion if she had told him how miserable she was, or if something happened to her. She would always have that doubt. Now Kyle might have made that same choice if he realized how much his wife was hurting (remember Lana was raised to never let anyone see your pain that means your community, and your family), and he also very well might not have. And Lana will never know. Thats something that you can recover from, if you wish to, but it can be exceptionally difficult to. And I (personally wouldn't be jumping on the lets take it slow to see if it can work). I would absolutely be in the lets see how I am alone, and how I feel much later about my life. Jonathan you done messed up. And here's the thing, if I was Jonathan I would be desperately wanting abilities. To a degree I can't really express. So from someone who does;t do drugs, I probably would make the choice Jonathan did, even if deep down I knew it to be wrong). And I love seeing Jonathan and Jordan interactions, even when they aren't on the same page. You can really feel how close they are and how much things have been coming between them. LT. General Anderson is such a dick. I mean seriously what a fucked up move, after fucked up move. At least with someone like Tal Ro, you can at least understand from his first interactions with humans, being imprisoned by humans, and then being brainwashed but his utter monstrosity of a father turns into what he is. But this dick. Ugh....... Lucy and Lois... Lois is to strong headed that she will never excel at keeping her beliefs about a situation from coming up. its just not her strong suit. The one thing I wished they would address is Lois is aware of the multiverse (confirmed in the terrific episode where we discover her miscarriage) she knows that worlds exist that are different. She really should be explaining this to Lucy. That just because this other universe is different doesn't mean its part of you. She should use Superman and her own knowledge that yes alternate universe exist but it doesn't mean you are connected to these alternate worlds, and of course Ally's utter underhanded way of manipulating things and conditions to get her goals. But she would need to do it calmly and without making it an a attack on Lucy. That for Lois isn't something will ever be easy. Can't what for the next ones......
Now here, here is where we can crucify Kyle. But we knew it was pretty much a given based off of last week. Interesting that Lana states the bartender. So she either suspected or was told something happened (may not be to the full degree), but clearly she knew or suspected something...... And I hate seeing Jonathan doing what he's doing, but I can absolutely understand why he is, especially compared to anyone else.
The audio for bizarro is backwards and the theme too 👀 he said to superman leave me alone backwards and said home at the ending
Woah🤯
After the first episode teh producer of the show went out and confirmed that it was Doomsday , so for episode 2 - 3 fans were freaking the hell out, and of course they pulled the rug out from under us. It was glorious.
I LOVED this episode. And my favorite part of the your reaction was defending Jordan at the end of the episode....
Yeah I love this show. Another reviewer *from the first episode had this quote, " People say Superman is boring...Fuck Off, this is awesome"... So true there isn't a single episode of this show where Superman is boring.
I feel that 100%! Also welcome back! Always love your comments and feedback!
The episode where the first half filled me with joy and then took my heart out and stomped on it. Was so stressed waiting for the next episode. They've done such a great job making you really care for this family and wanting them safe & happy.
For about the first 50 years, its was Lois falling for Superman, and Clark wanting it the other way. I love, love that they went with the more modern take that Lois is in love with Clark. Argo City and all of that was pre crisis, so we now know that after crisis that no longer happened.
Yes we've seen tht many kryptonians man of steel supergirl supergirl did solar flare in sewson 1
Jon cryer plays this universe lex luthor
The subjekts wouldn't be dead from falling from the sky. You cut it out of your reaction, but Lana (when she was Lara) explained that they would lose their powers gradually over time. They would have to lose all their powers immediately to be injured from the fall.
This superman lex is played by jon cryer
U should watch stargirl its an amazing show aswell u will enjoy it
General Lang, has been on my shit list several times. But not here. He absolutely shouldn't let Clark know about these weapons and he absolutely should be developing these weapons. It's a literally no brainer, and the one that felt completely handled wrong by the characters. Now thanks to Crisis, wee don't know the details of any event that happened previous to Crisis (they might not have happened, happened just as they had been shown or happened in a different way), but jus the thought that Clark could be mind controlled, be possessed, that other people from Krypton could show up would mean you would need some form of defense. Again no brainer, and any tactician knows if you have to have a doomsday option, you tell the guy or let him know where it is, so that if he went rouge he would know exactly where to attack.
It can't be easy for General Lane. He has lived a life in black and white and the existence of Superman is a gray area he isnt used to. Faith is not something you give dangerous people while in the military so I understand him completely. His character has such an interesting arc
This and episode 6, up to this point are my favorite episodes of the show, as both really hit family issues so directly and so realistically.
Kyle we get to me his worst moment (and I understand it). Lana is utterly dishonest with him. She could have tried to tell Kyle the truth, she doesn't. Now Kyle might have not believed her, that's certainly possible, but he's not allowed even the option. Your spouse is supposed to be the person who is the one person you can be honest with, who is honest with you and who supports you, and also tells you when your wrong. So he finds out the one person out of everyone who should support you, is basically telling him and others (based on what he knows) that Lana feels he isn't good enough. That would legitimately be a huge blow. But as much as I understand what this would do to him. The fact that his child, who isn't connected to the issue with Lana, is dependent to Kyle. That means minus the death of a family member or a massive fire that he is required to respond to, you have to suck up your personal pain and do what your child needs. This is the opposite side of the coin to the issue with the fair, and Kyle dealing with the serious injury of his worker and best man. His kids didn't need him for the fair. Here Sarah did need him. And that's one of the downsides of being a parent. When you kids need you, you have to swallow your hurt, your ego, and any serious issues that might be crippling you and help your kid. Here he absolutely fails.
Well said.👏
In fairness to Jonathan he is literally the only one in the family who is completely defenseless. While Clark and Jordan have powers, Lois and Jordan also have a signal device to get Clark's help if things get bad. Jonathan has never been given a signal device. That absolutely needs to change, and change immediately.
Tulloch knocks it the hell out of the park! And I think all her dialogue could have happened just with what Jonathan did and been perfectly valid. But tying it into suppressed or unresolved grief over a miscarriage helps give a little bit of light to an issue that a ton of woman deal with each and every year, and a society that doesn't really acknowledge how hard this can be for an individual. But seriously even without it, having a kid looking through a villains lair for weapons and nearly getting gunned down. Lois has every right to be scarred shitless and furious at Jonathan.
One of the things this show did beautifully and in a very real way in season 1 was to highlight human struggles and trauma in a relatable way. They managed to tell stories that felt very grounded and real but also give us the superhero action that a show with superman should have.
They perfectly balance the sci fi heroics with the truly human flaws that we all possess. I won't lie, seeing Lois get emotional almost broke me but thats just a testiment to Elizabeth Tulloch's performance!
Man, I'm surprised you didn't show a reaction to the scene where Steel uses his famous hammer on Superman! Or where evil Superman kills Lois. Those two scenes were epic and I'm surprised you edited those out of your reaction.
I absolutely LOVED this episode.....
Man, I can't believe you didn't include the scene when Superman got in the soldier's face and said "STAND DOWN!" Wanted to see your reaction to that. Or Clark's speech about broken trust (his version of Uncle Ben's 'with great power comes great responsibility'); that was a classic Superman speech.
It was one his best! I'm currently sending all my footage to an editor and he's picking out the "best" clips 😒 because I do not know how to edit lol That was one of the BEST SCENES in the whole show! I believe Superman's real power to be his restraint and nothing displayed that more than that moment with the soldier! Thank you for your support! It means the world!👊🌎💙❤
I LOVE this episode, and its about to get so much better.
This show TAKES OFF!
Can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of the episodes as some of the best are to come!
People like you make doing things worth it! Trust me some of these next episodes get TOUGH
Jordan is my fave.
He's the Best!
There's no wrong or right way of doing art. You may not agree with it. But you can't thats how your suppose to kill Johnathan kent ... thats weird
Idk man. Its not just art...you're adapting a familiar story. It would be like redoing star wars and deciding that Vader and Luke aren't related. It changes things in my opinion
@@ComicBookClique what familiar story are you referring ? Or is it a more preconceived notion of the characters characteristics ? And no. I hate to burst your bubble but that's wildly inaccurate. Before superman 1978 even came out. Pa kent had never died. He was actually alive in all iterations of superman comics. It was richard Donner that came up with the idea of actually killing the father of Clark Kent. Would you accept that artistic endeavor knowing full well that for the 1st pa kent was dead ?
The piece in particular that I have an issue with has to do with the origin of Superman which has been best established in the comics. Superman himself is 80 years old so I don't understand how any opinion on his previously established traits would be considered preconceived. The Superman story works best IMO with 2 great parents doing their best to show that it is up to the best of us to help the rest of us. I didnt get that feeling from MOS. I'm sure others did but I gotta keep these reactions honest right?
@@ComicBookClique right because it was richard Donner even attempted to kill pa kent. Then writers started going that route It is. Because up and till that point pa kent was a consistent figure of advice for Clark Kent. He never died in his youth. That was an artistic choice. Yeah you can subjectively say I prefer pa kent die because of old age. Or just like richard Donner even attempting to kill a major take it as such. Pa kent making a choice to sacrifice himself. Installing in clark kent and understanding to sacrifice himself too. Pa kent was willing to die to protect Clark. And Clark is willing to die to protect the world
And yeah the show continues to improve, both on the threat level and on the character level. You're in for a treat.
I had NO SPOILERS going in. As someone who already watched I hope I don't come off as too naive😅
And another episode that just highlights how much I love the Kents. I love how Clark handled the car bomb with Lois and her going out do her job. I'm sure on some level he has to worry. But he trusts his wife. He knows how capable she is, and also knows if she needs him he can get there in a hurry. And I can't tell you how much I loved seeing her not immediately reach to signal Clark. That she did try and handle it herself first. This Lois very quickly becomes my favorite live action version of the character. Period. On Jordan, a lot of people who do videos talk about how its cheating or to a lesser degree unfair for Jordan to play a sport when he has abilities above that of his classmates. Cheating it isn't. Unfair, of course it is. But by that same token there are people all over who have better genetics that allow them an advantage that others don't have, be it athletics, hand eye coordination, intelligence, ect. The real issue is, is it safe. And the hits we saw Jordan making it would be very possible for someone to be hurt. I mean one person is thrown feet into the air and lands on his neck. I am going to give the show a bit of pass and just pretend he actually didn't hit that hard, and it was exaggerated for visual effect of it. But I loved his being upset about Clark, and I loved Clark reaction to his acting out. Jonathan continues to be a great, and he has to be suffering quite a bit, at some point this is going to have to flair up. I did love the fact that he is first really against Jordan and football, but after he sees he's getting calls from people puts his own jealous and worries aside. And while I don't think Jordan should have been allowed to play, I do like the compromise. Getting Clark there allows for him to make emergency moves if needed, and just his being their during practice should prevent Jordan from showboating or getting too pissed at people and letting it out on them in public.
Mark! I love your insight! It truly is the little things that say SO MUCH about the characters on screen
With Lois, Smallville would have many residents who are pissed at her possibly jeopardizing the life line Morgan Edge is offering the city. Lois stating to Kyle in public that this is Edge doing (the bombing of her car) without any proof is very dangerous. If it was someone from town, doing this just puts a bigger target for locals anger and frustration. You need proof. We of course absolutely believe Lois is right (and we have knowledge to back that up), the town folk have none of that. We learn a lot about the Cushing in three real scenes (plus part of the pilot). Lana wanting them to hide outside while Sarah is in therapy is a huge red flag. While Kyle thanks they should be inside (which is a surprisingly mature and modern view on mental illness). Ie you treat mental illness just like physical illness. Your kid needs medical treatment you go in to the building and be with them or at least the waiting room. And if its not serious enough for them to do that, then does she need therapy still. Now for Kyle was his drinking always an issue or is it more recent. Now I am guessing that his drinking has increased as the pressures got worse (though I also believe that he was raised where a man can't be shown to be hurt or not able to handle anything and that its a man's duty to shield his family). The reason I believe his drinking wasn't always a problem is due to Sarah saying that until few years ago her life was good. And of course that we know that at some point Kyle's responsibilities got worse. Basically in means you have not only a family that isn't honest with each other, but one that actively avoids communicating about what bothers them. I don't think either adult is a bad person, per say. But it certainly means that they are not doing the best they can as a couple or as parents. Now comparing that to the Kents. We are just finally starting to be an honest family (Lois and Clark would have had to lie to their kids all the time), but they have bene shown to always be trying to actively encourage talking within the family. There are still going to be blowups, but you talk about it, you get to the source of the issue and you try to process it. Its a nice contrast to show how the two families handle the stress of their lives.
This show stunned my ass. It looks like a movie, instead of a show, the CGI is great for a show, and Reeves is still the best, but this dude is very close (to bad he's not a little taller), and better as this character then anyone else. The part where he's all clumsy in the office when he first meets lois is straight out of reeve's playbook, and he was awesome in it.
Watching them first meet...I got major Reeves/Kidder vibes! I think Elizabeth Tulloch is AWESOME in this and seeing Tyler act like a clumsy goof, only to stand straight with his head up high when he reveals he is Superman is great physical acting!
Kyle has his issues for sure. But in a dying town, any major supplier of jobs is a literal godsend. This is a town where businesses (and it's citizens) are leaving in droves, so without a lifeline it dies. There is a difference between worried about a large retailer coming into a town and how it impacts local business. And based on what we are told even if he misses labor targets, its more jobs and at a higher rate of pay than what is typical in the area. In reality the average person for a mining company would be just worried about its environmental footprint. But the show doesn't address that real world issue. Now of course Lois knows that Morgan Edge isn't a good guy. But because he's never been convicted of crimes, the average citizen wouldn't have any reason to have a negative opinion about him besides just the feelings that some would have against a very wealthy business man. And you want me to change my mind, then you better bring evidence and not just state your opinion. For most families, especially in really hard hit economic areas, you're not going to listen to an outsider that doesn't provide any evidence besides their own opinion. Just not a realistic reason. Now if you took someone whose opinion is considered unimpeachable, and they talk bout what's wrong with Morgan Edge that would have a lot more weight. That would obviously be Superman. But I don't think Superman makes those sorts of statements about people much.
Absolutely excellent points! We've seen how business can dry up in places that acn afford it and Lois is basically a "city slicker" who's telling the people of Smallville how to run their town. She obviously has an invested interest because of Clark but by not LIVING there she is missing the crucial Smallvillian point-of-view. I give Kyle alot of guff (he is my emotional punching bag in future eps lol) but when it comes to having to provide for your family...I understand his desperation. Alcohol also doesn't help...but he seems to be a man of pride and I can surely relate to that. Alot of complexities to this show but I'm grateful you were able to point out some of the things I've missed!
The show isn't perfect. But it's heart and its family relationship is some of th best ever done for tv.
Yep, the Kent family are just the best tv family.
Great reaction. Love your enthusiasm. This show is so good and the Kent family dynamic is wonderful.
I was BLOWN AWAY with how much I fell in love with this family! One of the best interpretations I've seen. Thanks for the kind words!🙌
another good episode!
