Total bollocks, that stuff isn't even sold everywhere. The cheapest synthetic with the right thickness and specs will do just fine and change your oil on time which depends on the use of the car.

I use Royal Purple Fully Synthetic 20/50. In my opinion it does exactly as they claim in terms of a cooler running motor. The engine temp on my 88 Twin Cam is definitely cooler using this oil as opposed to other brands I have used. I haven’t tried Amsoil but it’s definitely worth considering.

I have never seen Amsoil here in the UK, so I haven’t got any skin in this game. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a test or review which puts the product in a bad light. My 2007 FLHTC runs frighteningly hot in summer slow traffic. My mitigation is always to use fully synthetic oil, I use the Harley stuff (which is controversial), fitted Love Jugs head fans, and change the engine oil more frequently.

So can I run 20w50 year round in Texas or should I run straight 60w in summer on an 883 evo?

This is so true. I've used this oil for years. When I go to my dealer to get an oil change, there's usually 40 to 70 cars waiting out front as soon as I get there. I've been at the dealer for as long as 4+ hours waiting for a simple oil change. The less times I can do this, the better.

I would like to use Amsoil in my Ford 1.0 Litre 125 bhp Ecoboost Engine,Ford specify 5w20 oil,full synthetic of course.Here in the UK,Amsoil,is very hard to find and even if you find a supplier,you will not find Amsoil 5w20,it's not listed. Should it be the case that Amsoil don't produce 5w20 oil,you are missing out on a potentially huge market.
