Thanks for watching Sarah! :)
This is awesome!
Can't wait for when you make it up here!
Outstanding filming man, this looks amazing!! Brilliant work
Thanks a ton! Appreciate it!
Bro this is so cool! Very impressive.
Come back up sometime soon!

Would love to go to Mongolia some day!
So cool! Love it!
Thanks!
Awesome video! Is the trail pretty obvious where you need to head once you make it to the overlook?
Hey man! I will respond to this comment and one from the other video. The trail I would consider a "social trail." Nothing is marked past the 3-mile overlook point, but you can see where people have hiked up over time. It is best to keep heading towards the peak and hike on the ridgeline as much as possible. I have done this June-August. I was just down there recently and it is great mountain conditions with not much snow to speak of. I have done it in 10 hours before but I've always given myself the entire day. The mountain looked amazing yesterday excited for you! Hope this helps and feel free to ask any more questions in this thread!
How long did it take y’all round trip and what time of year? I’ll be there in 2 weeks and want to do this hike!
Where did you park to start this hike?
There is a parking lot at the trailhead. Directions to it can be found on the Alltrails website, that’s what I used!
Great job on showing the beauty of the RRG. Really cool video
Thanks much Jason! Love your videos!
Awesome video!
Thanks bro!
Hey Elliot! I’ve been watching Red River Gorge videos for a while now and yours are top notch! I’ve been wanting to try the overnight back country hiking/camping for a while. Your videos have encouraged me to get going. I plan to make my first overnight in the next week or so. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad my videos gave some inspo! Hope you can find some great spots to explore and enjoy.
Awesome shots!
Thanks much Ralph!
I yearned to return to the RRG this weekend but family commitments and my daughter's 7 day band trip later tonight means I've gotta wait til the Fall.
Fall time is perfect for the Gorge as you may well know! Hope that can happen soon!
rough trail is appropriately named. lol... the mountain laurels are a nice touch.
Very true! haha!
Another great adventure Eliot! The Sunset at Hansons Point was epic! Great work
Thanks again, my friend! 🙏
You must've gone there during the mid-week as the crowds of visitors are absent.
Yes! Luckily my schedule works out so I can beat the crowds at most popular trials. Makes for a peaceful time.
How's the climb back down? Ive been on the Auxier Ridge trail last year and want to return.
The climb down is just very technical and not something to try if slick or dusty. But it is more doable than I think people give it credit for.
I love it it looks beautiful ❤ enjoy your hikings 👋
Thank you much!
What microphone do you use in the video?
I use a Rode VideoMicro 1
wish all good things will come to you🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
You as well!
Glad I came across this video. Started day hiking some time ago and now slow transitioning to longer and more challenging hikes. Love to see these are budget friendly gear you have. I keep thinking I need to have those most extravagant gear ever.
I’ve learned that you can still have great gear even on a budget! Hope this video is useful for you. Thanks for stopping by friend!
Awesome stuff, my friend beautiful footage! Subscribed 🤘🏼
Thank you for the kind words and thanks for the sub!
Nice video. Loved it. 👍23
Thank you friend!
Wow!! Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing. Subd & 👍47
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Elliot! Thank you so much for the shout out, you put a big smile on both of our faces! It was so great to meet you at the trailhead, Indian Staircase turned out to be one of our favorite hikes in Red River Gorge. We watched a bunch of your videos before we headed down to RRG so we really enjoyed being able to meet you at the trailhead. The weather was perfect that evening and it seemed like we were the only people on the trail. It was nice to be able to send your video to our friends to show them what we hiked. All the best, and maybe we'll see you on another random trailhead in the future.
You guys are awesome! So happy your trip was a success. Loved connecting and maybe one day it will happen again! All the best friends!
Loved the shots you were able to get while climbing up the staircase! Impressive!
More views to be had there! See you at Miguel’s!
this is beautiful!!
Thanks bata! 🙏
I love the style it’s very calming but part of me just can’t without imagining how many times you are retracing your steps to achieve this haha!!!
It adds a few extra steps that’s for sure! Haha! Thanks for the comment! 😄
never mind..saw the info in the description...lol.. it's very Harmon Hoek. if you get a chance, i have some videos from indian staircase...would enjoy a follow back too.. thanks !
Will do! I’ve watched some of your videos before actually! Love seeing and supporting other creators in the gorge!
Nice video! Did you shoot it on a specific camera or an IPhone?
Thanks! I shoot on a Sony A6400 with a 16mm Sima Lens!
Amazing, absolutely amazing scenery my friend! This looks, sounds and feels amazing!
Thank you for the kind words!
Love the Gorge, love the Indian Staircase!
It's calling your name my brother! Come down soon!
Fantastic adventure and beautifully filmed and composed Elliot! Are you ever afraid of sleeping alone outside? I did my first overnighters and in the beginning it really felt kind of strange
I am slowly getting used to it more and more, but it can be a mind game for sure! AirPods definitely help sleeping haha!
That is so cool that you were recognized out on trail from your channel! 🙌
Cool experience for sure! Always excited to share where my bag is from as well! 😃
@@ElliotHuff This is Matt and Kerry, it was a cool experience for us too!!!!
I prefer Hallandale beach Florida beautiful city good beaches and restaurants and growing businesses and communities, and good nightlife.🇺🇸☀️
I will have to check that out sometime! Thanks for the comment!
@@ElliotHuff definitely it’s a beautiful beach city in Broward County Florida.
Hey Elliott, this is Matt and Kerry, it was great to meet you at the trailhead yesterday! Your videos helped us plan our own trip to RRG. We love your content and excited to see your next adventure!
Matt and Kerry! It was cool to meet you guys on trial! Hope your trip has been a blessed time! I gave you guys a shoutout in my newest video! All the best friends and safe travels!
Thanks for sharing Elliot!😊😊😊
Always!
Well come to viet nam❤❤
Thanks!
Nice photography & sound editing - loved the wind
Thank you much!
Solo hiking videos are always fun to watch but there’s something different about these. He seems so passionate about making these videos and exploring. Love it man
I am honored by your comment and insight friend! Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
Hey Elliot. Great video, man. I love the mostly silent hike. I’m thinking of driving down to Mt Rogers soon and hiking it. What a beautiful place. Watching your video definitely gave me a good idea of what I’d be encountering. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on how you went about it. I just stumbled across your channel while searching for interesting hikes for this coming season. I do lots of hiking and posting on TH-cam myself. I looked through your channel, and I see you post lots of hikes and adventures here on the east coast. Right up my alley. I just followed your channel! It looks like I’m your 470th subscriber! Woohoo!!! I look forward to staying connected.
Glad it is helpful and thank you for showing interest! Much luck to you and your adventures!
@@ElliotHuff Thank you Elliot. You too.
Watching your hiking expedition fills me with nostalgia for my recent mountain trek. Your video captures the essence of the great outdoors and the sense of freedom it brings.Liked and subscribed!
Definitely something I shoot for so that is great to hear! Thanks for watching! Planning to check some of your content out as well!
@@ElliotHuff Thank you!
Great job ! Nice hiking😄
Thanks friend!
The sound of the wind is so satisfying, the Appalachian Mountains are very beautiful!
Gotta come hiking with me some time again!
I’ve used that closnature tent on tons of backpacking trips some even down to 17 degrees and have no complaints. As I’ve switched to the durston xmid 1 person tent for ultralight backing the closnature will still be in the rotation.
This is great information man thanks!
Another great video Elliot!! ☺️
Thanks Meg! :)
What a beautiful ambience my friend, amazing shots!
Many thanks! I enjoy your content!
Stunning! You got some great footage. Love this area!
We will have to make a camping trip out there sometime!
