Yes - it may have gotten washed out if there was one there - it was super hard to find the trail in all of that blow down area especially because I believe the water was super high that weekend too!!! The trail may have been there but under trees (big) fallen or the water line ?

Hahahahaha I’m poking at myself - cold sore/upset stomach gone mad right before backpacking trip with my youngest daughter - just couldn’t bear filming myself with that visage - aaagh - only time I got them as kid was right before school pictures too - I hate hate hate being in front of a camera but dream of time behind it! So excited for the warming up and new flowers and funguys in the woods. You must share you photos with me - I hope to see you this Fall!

It wasn’t bad weather at all, really. It rained one sludgy day near the end so that was a tough cold night at the ridge camp we chose but I was so grateful for a great time amongst so many cool bugs and flowers with my baby girl!!!

Only 19 hours of work-the music selection is always tough for me - guess I need to get a subscription - hopefully as I learn more and practice these new skills I will improve the quality over time and get much quicker creating 2 a week! I sure appreciate your time watching and keeping up with us Jim. We sure miss you! Yep one of the bikes was an electric bike - they are soooooo much fun to rent in big cities when we visit-there’s NO better way to see a city than on a bike or electric bike (wait til you see my Chicago visit). Sooooo fun!

Hey there, thanks so much for writing! EACH state has so many wonderful alpine hiking options...I wouldn't head out to any of them until at least mid July to avoid snow pack at the higher elevations. All of these hikes were from first weekend in July...but each season can vary a bit. Earlier in season is always a bit better to avoid bugs and stay on the ridges to get a breeze (if it isn't too cold for you) to keep the bugs at bay. But we find bugs most annoying at sunset and sunrise so we time everything to be in tents around then and NOT cooking adding to the heat which bugs enjoy! Rain season (as YOU well know) and standing water can bring on the biting mosquitos the worst...so bring your bug juice just in case so they don't "bug" you out. ha! I shared our favorite bug juice in my most recent GEAR video releasing tonight. Hope this helps. AND I will share some more in depth videos in the next few weeks, from each of the hikes referenced in this overall video posted a few weeks ago...keep watching and stay in touch. let me know where you plan to visit OK?
