Finding this video honestly felt like a huge relief and breath of fresh air. Knowing that there's people that share a similar lens and ear towards Smino's music and how much room for depth there is in the simplicity of his work is honestly something I never knew I needed (which means I definitely have to see a concert of his soon). I originally found his music through someone who I considered close and motivated me through this college semester and everyday life for the first half of this year. Tuning into his music everyday helped me learn to love myself better and be more in tune with the world around me so I can put it into an art form of my own. Although me and that person are no longer in touch for the better or the worst, Smino's music still held me down through my darker days and inspired (still does to this day) to keep pushing for a better future for myself and those around me. Even though Noir is one of Smino's more iffy albums, to my surprise even, Summer Salts will still remain as one of my all-time favorites of his because of the memory and message it holds.
Actually got to see smino my junior of highschool for his blkswn tour and phoelix and earthgang were the openers in houston had such a great time the whole crowd fit in a abnd hall sized room
Thats sick, earthgang would be so fun to see live. I bet Smino’s set was great during blkswn era. Seeing him live for the Luv 4 Ever tour with JID was probably one of my favorite concerts ever

Watching Movies with the Sound off is my favorite album, One thing I have disagree on is you saying the I love Life Thank you album fell off in the second half. Boom Bap rap is the best song on the whole album and its track 10, Also Miller Family reunion and Pranks 4 players were also on the second half. The whole was nearly good Id say 10/13 songs were good on it imo.

I only started listening to Mac on May 19th of this year, and as of right now, he is my fifth most listened to artist of all time on spotify. He already has 7505 minutes played. I have only listened to swimming and circles. Have cried a lot. Already bought the 5-year anniversary of swimming and the NPR concert both on vinyl. Got Circles on CD for my Grandma for her birthday in August. I didn't know if it is a good idea to listen 2 faces knowing that. After I listen to it, there won't be anything better after that at least album wise, but I think now that's what I am going to do. I'll probably cry again, but I have to do it someday Only wish somebody reached out and helped Mac. Get through his drug addiction. So this whole thing wouldn't have happened. I hope that there's an afterlife so when I die, I can get some fresh Mac music. Appreciate the video. Hope I can meet somebody. That's just as passionate about Not only Mac, but music in general just as much you.
Thanks so much for sharing your connection with Mac’s music! His music really is something special. I think you will really love Faces, especially with the context of Swimming and Circles first. It doesn’t quite have the same emotional impact upon first listen, but I think it’s the most layered, replayable, and personal of all his projects. There’s so much great music of his, I don’t think there’s a bad project to listen to next. I would definitely recommend checking out some of his studio sessions with Thundercat and Mac Demarco if you’re a fan of the Tiny Desk.

I’ve never connected with an artist like I have with Smino, he’s is undoubtedly my favourite artist so it’s really cool seeing someone dive into his discography the way I have too. For me it’s hard to pick a favourite album from smi, Luv 4 Rent was a masterpiece top to bottom with some of my favourite messages from smino, NOIR was such a fun album and I loved the experimental side of it but the nostalgia of blkswn always hits so hard and some of my all time favourite songs are on it. So glad he’s getting more recognition now and appreciate you for making this <3
Thanks for the love! Blkswn is definitely nostalgic for me too and Luv 4 Rent quickly made its way to one of my favorite projects of all time. It is so great to see Smino getting more recognition (I got into him ~2020 thanks to a friend introducing me), I think especially him signing to a larger label will help so much. It doesn’t seem like his music is going to decrease in quality any time soon (Polynesian was a great single!), so I’m so excited to see where his career ends up next!
I found Smino through Soulection radio, they introduced me to monte booker and ravyn lenae too. Joe Kay was a master of discovering the best lofi sounds across all genres. Don’t listen as much these days as they seem to have moved more into house music but they’re pioneers still
House has it’s place in the history of Soul and Neo-Soul, so it’s interesting to hear that they moved more into that direction. Thanks for watching!

Die Lit is one of my favorite albums of all time, so I think i’d rank it higher than all uzi records. But I agree that Luv is Rage 2 is Uzis best, closely followed by Vs The World
