The Wizard & The Lizard - Digital Painting Timelapse【CLIP STUDIO PAINT】
Left cooking for arguably too long, here's a sequel piece to the one in my previous video.
The reception on the last video was amazing. It reached 900% more people than I thought it would, which is just crazy to me.
A lot of things happened and "life got in the way", which pushed back the release of this video.

Thank you! Yes, this was done in CSP with the basic brushes and its time-lapse feature. The 3D block-in I sketched on top of was made in Blender, I think.

How long did it take you to complete this art piece?
Somewhere between 8-14 hours. I'm not entirely sure about the exact number of hours, since I didn't keep track of the time taken.

Beautiful, you use clip studio paint to record your time-lapse?
In this video it's all just the built-in timelapse of Clip Studio and me adding the zooming in the editing after. I'm planning on using OBS to record footage for future videos, because how poor the resolution got in the closeups.
how did you add colors to the grayscale?
Colors are painted on a layer above set to Multiply or Overlay (sometimes need one of each).
The sad part is seeing the winners. Because I often think....there were so many better looking artworks posted that deserved to win. Those clipstudio judges are on crack.😂

Hello,can you tell me how you change from gray tones to colouring tones?
I don't do anything too fancy, just put the colors on a separate layer and clip it down. Whatever blending mode (i.e. overlay, multiply, etc.) looks good is what I'll use. Since it's digital I can always adjust it later, so it doesn't need to be perfect.

One thing I love about timelapses is seeing the backward and forward momentum of trying out ideas as the art develops. Many people thing that art just ‘arrives’ in its finished form when in reality, even with a solid concept to start with, it’s usually a process of trial and error leading towards an amazing finished piece like this one. Amazing work! Got yourself a new subscriber with this one. Looking forward to seeing more!
