I'm over 5 yrs in remission I had breast cancer stage 2/B which meant it spread to my lymph nodes but am cancer free with no recurrences. I remember you from your Jynx channel. I found you again by accident, and subscribed. I had cancer, too, and I think I've beat it. Over four years. You can beat it, too. I see you are giving up alcohol, which may help. I'm usually against marijuana, but it does seem to help cancer patients. My sister-in-law benefitted greatly from it during her cancer treatment. Hugs from Texas!

Well none of us wanted Austin to quit. It was his decision. He is newly married and wanted to stay home and start a family. Good for him but sad for us. Adam Bastien (pronounced Bass-teen) sounds good to me. He sang on the Voice and also for 7th Avenue band with Chris Rupp (Adam Rupp’s brother). Bastien fit right in with HF I think. I hear he also writes music so we’ll have to stay tuned for more Bastien!!

Comparing Bastien to Austin is only natural, but it’s not really fair so I’m trying not to. The guys would never choose someone that didn’t fit the group. He’s from Detroit, and doesn’t have a southern accent. The sound is going to be different. I hope they spend a little time on Motown. ❤ It’s easy to see the guys are having fun and feeling inspired. I can’t wait to see what’s next… When I need an energy boost it’s the HF “stomp & clap” songs I choose. 😂 So good to see your smile. Sending prayers. F*ck cancer.

Bastien seems to breathing new life into the group. Time will tell. I understand your concern about replacing Austin, I left Pentatonix after Avi Kaplan left them and have never returned, but Adam Bastien is not offending me at all.

Bastien sang with Home Free before they were on The Sing-Off. He was singing with them when Rob joined them about 2009. He was part of the 2nd string that filled in when the main group was filming The Sing-Off. Bastien has his own style and energy of his own very different from Austin. I am eager to see what comes next.
