The TRUTH About Condoms and Why They are Incompatible with Natural Family Planning
Wait what, I thought every period was preceded by ovulation? I’ll have to look into that. Thank you.
@hiddenhand6973 A period is actually dependent on ovulation! Ovulation usually will precede a period. Once ovulation happens, it takes about two weeks for the body to recognize that you are not pregnant and then have a period. The only time that changes is while a woman is breastfeeding - because she is not ovulating regularly and waiting to get her cycle back, she may have a period before ovulating for the first time since childbirth. But 1/3 women DO ovulate first before having their first period since having baby, so that's why it is important to chart the woman's signs for ovulation in case it happens first!
Fellow Catholic here. I really like the book Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence as it relates to struggling with control

Hi great video I learned a lot more about contraceptives! Are there any long term affects after stopping the pill? I know for some women can experience post pill syndrome for a bit but can contraceptives cause anything long term like hormonal imbalances for example ?
@Emurillob great question! Short answer, yes. Most of the effects a women will experience post pill are temporary as her cycle starts to return. These include acne, hair loss, anxiety, mood swings, headaches, breast tenderness, and irregular cycles. However, it’s important to remember that when a woman is on a contraceptive, her natural reproductive hormones are being suppressed (suppressing ovulation). So when she gets off the contraceptive, it can take her body a while to return to cycling. Usually not more than 6 months post pill, so if a woman still does not have her cycle back after stopping for pill for 6 months, I recommend seeing a doctor. One super important thing to note is that there are studies proving an irreversible loss of bone density of women who have been on the Depo-provera shot! This would be a great topic for another podcast so I will put it on the list.
Hi could you do the same video like this but for low estrogen? Symptoms, treatment, etc? I’ve started charting and suspect I have low estrogen. Thanks 🙏 ❤
@emibenitez1098 Yes! I have transitioned to a podcast, but I can certainly do a podcast episode on that. Be on the lookout - Truth and Fertility Podcast :)

@unaeventisette2 thank you!!
what can be the reason of watery pink period blood?
@farinapanzerotti2683 it depends on what time of the cycle you are in. If it is right before a period, it may be due to some premenstrual mucus that sometimes comes out before the bleeding does. But there are many other reasons. If you have a more personal question about it, you are welcome to email me at truthandfertility@gmail.com!
@@TruthandFertility thank you for writing back. This happens during the cycle. While my period is going on...
and sometimes what we need is an answer no.....I'm more used to that
Ooo I'm used to that too! We need both :)
We have to be careful about ALL apps. No app can or will do anything that a human can. Note, using Apps, you are not the only one 'documenting' intimate details about your life, fyi. That information, like watches, trackers of all things....goes right to places that are dark and not many people can handle that level of reality. Paper charts, for many great reasons. Period.
Great job!
Thank you for your information and channel!
Hi, As someone who is a Christian who is PRO-LIFE and PRO-IVF I just wanted to clear some things up. However, I just want to state that I am not against you or what you do on your channel. I think it's very helpful and resourceful. There are a few things about IVF you have incorrect though. I also have questions for you? "The unhealthy embryos" you are referring to, the process you're describing doesn't happen when the baby is created. This selective process of quality only occurs when the woman's eggs have been retrieved before they are fertilized. No human life/ baby is aborted because the eggs are not fertilized yet. No one freezes their embryos indefinitely. 85% of women gone on to use all of their embryos. Because its not a process that works on the 1st try or even the 3rd try. How do you help women conceive who have no periods, doesn't ovulate or has pcos? How do you help women conceive who has or had cancer? How do you help women conceive who have low amh levels? (ovarian reserve,/eggs) There is no hate but It is important that we as women need to FULLY UNDERSTAND how IVF works before we demonize it. God can bring children into the world through any channel. A a woman who has pcos and does not ever get a period or ovulate, IVF is my only hope in conceiving my own natural child with my dna and my husbands. I would certainly prefer to do it the natural way but it doesn't work and I have tried for 7 years. IVF has it flaws and some women do it for the wrong reason but 95% of women are just trying to build a family because their bodies are failing them and they have tried everything else. I really hope you continue to look into IVF and how the process works and helps many women with irreversible problems that cant be helped any other way.
@AnissaJ.Thompson Thank you so much for your comment and questions! I am always open to learning more and want to make sure that I am always giving correct information, so thank you. Before I get into anything else, I just want to affirm your desire for children and that most people who go the IVF route do it because of this strong desire and with immensely good intentions! And you are completely right that God can bring life into the world in any channel. Also, as a woman with PCOS myself, I do want to give you hope that there IS another way other than IVF to have a baby. I have other videos on this (How I Naturally Healed my Fertility & Struggling with Infertility? There's Hope. are two that I recommend for you to watch for more information on that!). Please feel free to email me at truthandfertility@gmail.com if you want more guidance on that too - I would love to be of help to you and your husband. To address some of your concerns, unfortunately it is true that some of the conceived embryos are destroyed in the IVF process. This does not happen every time, but this is the process of "selective reduction" - the killing of live embryos either before or after they are placed within the woman's womb. IVF doctors may also have quality control over the eggs themselves (which you mentioned), but there is also this "quality control" or "quantity control" even after the eggs are fertilized, which are human lives. You are right that most women do use all the embryos (or have the intention to)! But we also know that there are many many freezers holding these unborn lives that may indefinitely be there (either due to parents no longer wanting the child, can no longer afford the IVF procedures, etc.). Could be a multitude of reasons, but we do know that not every human embryo that is conceived via IVF is implanted within the woman's womb. To answer your other questions, I do go into a lot of this in my Struggling with Infertility? There's Hope. video in which I talk about NaProTechnology. This is a woman's health science that looks at the root cause of why a couple may be experiencing infertility (PCOS being one of many possibilities) and heal it at the root in order to clear the path to pregnancy. And I do go into detail about how NaProTechnology doctors can treat PCOS in order to help the woman ovulate on her own and result in pregnancy in my recent video on PCOS (I am referencing my videos because I go into a LOT more detail there and this comment is already long ha!) Your question about cancer and low egg count - I actually do not know the full answer and I will do more research on this. Certainly a NaProTechnology doctor would know more than me on this topic since it goes beyond my scope (I teach women how to chart and then look for signs of possible anovulation, low progesterone, hormone imbalances, etc, but diagnosis is something that needs to be done by a doctor). If you are interested in looking for a NaProTechnology doctor, I recommend visiting fertilitycare.org to find one near you. Please don't hesitate to reach out via email with any further questions! I really appreciate your comment so I can better flesh out these ideas.
Hi, I'm currently starting NaPro technology and was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries. I'm curious, when you say you did a low carb diet, did you cut out all carbs including fruit and whole grains?
@clairekozak7393 I'm so glad to hear you are on a NaPro journey! You are in good hands. I did not cut out whole grains and fruit. I mainly switched all of my eating to fresh produce, meat that was not frozen or pre seasoned (processed), and much less sweets. Before that, i was eating a whole lot of processed foods, rarely cooking anything from scratch. I now rarely buy pre-frozen meat or produce, and try to limit sweets. I also switched all of my breads and pastas to whole grain, while also trying to limit the amount of heavy carbs I was eating. But did I cut ALL sugar and carbs out 100%? Definitely not. Some women like to go on the Keto diet or Paleo diet, but I just found it difficult to cut everything out 100%.
@@TruthandFertility It's definitely difficult to cut out everything 100%, so it's encouraging to hear that you saw did see improvement with the changes you made. Thanks for your reply!
♥️♥️
Thank you so much❤
What do you think about Ava? I use Ava data and input it into fertilityfriend app. Worked well for babies 1 and 2, but now I can’t seem to conceive at all. 🥺
@misscariad I have actually never heard of Ava! But my stance would stay the same in that if an app is using an algorithm to find your fertile window, I really wouldn't trust it. I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble conceiving. I would definitely visit fertilitycare.org which is a website where you can find a doctor in your area that can help in a natural and wholesome way. You are also welcome to email me at truthandfertility@gmail.com if you want to chat further.
I am currently breastfeeding, 8 months pp, and I have been having pms symptoms for about a month. Cramping, bloating, cravings, irritability, and fatigue. Is it typical to have these symptoms while breastfeeding, because prolactin is suppressing ovulation? I have not had a period yet since my baby was born
@lydiajohnson2156 great question! It could be that your period may be coming soon. But I would definitely check in with your doctor to possibly get some blood work to see what may be causing those symptoms. Especially since they’ve been happening for a month now. I highly recommend checking out fertilitycare.org to find a doctor near you that specializes in women’s health care with fertility awareness methods of charting the cycle. You’re welcome to email me at truthandfertility@gmail.com with any more questions!
@@TruthandFertility thank you!
This was very helpful, thank you
Marquette method using clear blue fertility monitor saved my sanity. Observations always seemed "essentially the same" to me- making family planning seem impossible. With Marquette we still make observations but the monitor affirms what I think I’m seeing. Also found heart rate monitor used consistently told me a lot about my hormone cycles- started including this information in my charting.
@lkbd12345 I’ve heard amazing things about Marquette! I’m so glad you found that to be helpful.
Just do it. Thank you for your words of encouragement Your job is interesting and amazing
So essentially can my partner finish inside of me outside my fertile window and I wouldn’t get pregnant?
@haniwa5603 Yes that is correct since when you’re not in your fertile window, there is no viable egg present which means pregnancy cannot occur. It is SUPER important though to learn how to locate that fertile window from a trained instructor in a fertility awareness based method of family planning to make sure you are locating the fertile window correctly. Links for different methods are in the video description ☺️
@@TruthandFertilitythank you. I’ve been intrigued with fam & cycle syncing for about a year now. I had been on the copper iud which was creating inflammation and a whole lot of unwanted symptoms that came with it, which is why I steered into the FAM. Hi there - I am fertilitycare practitioner, and also a functional medicine nurse with a lot of experience in both womens health, as well as having been a patient with chronic illnesses I had to figure out on my own, despite being a nurse in the mainstream which only made things worse by either major neglect and malpractice. Because I got so ill from various toxicities unaddressed, and being thrown antibiotics which only added to the problem, unaddressed and un-assessed trauma, hidden stealth infections, I'll tell you this with prayer and care: going to a primary general practitioner, gynecologist or any one (IVF is not advised as it not only fails to address the actual problem which I can't emphasize enough, and they give nonspecific reasons which are not reasons -big business, and a dirty one at best, but they also make the issues worse because what this video while great, I'll add or further elaborate that when something is going wrong with your hormones (whether difficulty conceiving, difficulty with your menses like bleeding so much it causes anemia, or fatigue, mood changes, etc or trouble holding onto pregnancies, etc) , it is a sign of things going on elsewhere in the body. I love Creighton model, and I use it as well as teach it, but I'm also thankful for having functional medicine roots which takes things one step deeper so it's a whole package and I'm glad to be able to put it all together .Sometimes endometriosis is parasitic and so cleaning that up, will prevent even surgery. If you'd like more information before taking the step to talk to a doctor, please feel free to email me, my name is Jennifer and my email is jacRN777@gmail.com. I hope you made some progress in the journey since you posted this, and if not, please feel free.
My husband and I have been TTC for 3 1/2 years. I'm 31, he's 32. I've had HSG's, bloodwork several times, ultrasounds, everything looks normal. My husband also got his semen analysis and everything seemed normal. I've had 2 HSGs he's had 2 semen analysis's. The only thing that doesn't seem normal to me is that my temp runs high during my follicular phase. I still get my temp rise during my luteal phase but I've addressed my high temps to my Dr's in the past and they don't really seem to have an answer. I've tried chiropractors, acupuncture and mercier therapy as well and really feel like I'm running out of options. We have also made diet changes to stay away from sugars and highly inflammatory foods and oils. Do you ever see woman with high temps during their follicular phase and what is usually advised to them if so? Thank you
@VeronicaMarce thanks so much for your comment and I am so sorry for your struggles with getting pregnant. It seems like you’ve been doing all the right things but just getting no answer. My next suggestion to you would be to seek out a NaProTechnology medical consultant (find one here: fertilitycare.org). I’ve briefly talked about NaPro but it stands for Natural Procreative Technology and it is a type of woman’s health science that looks for the underlying causes of not being able to conceive and uses medical and surgical approaches to heal the woman’s reproductive system. You can find a medical consultant near you and they would start by having you chart your cycles with the Creighton method of charting. From there, they would do whatever tests seem fitting and go from there. This is how I was able to conceive my kiddos, as I also struggled with reproductive issues. As for the high temps in the follicular phase, this would be your baseline temperature, and some women’s temps are just higher than others. As long as you are still having that temp rise after ovulation, you are still seeing a “biphasic temperature”. My next question to you would be what is the range of your temps in the follicular phase vs the luteal phase? Thanks again for your comment and feel free to email me (link in bio) with any further questions!!
@TruthandFertility I usually fall between 97.5 and 97.9 and even 98. I read online that if your temp runs higher in the follicular phase it could "over mature your egg" in a sense. I've also had my thyroid tested and all came out fine. I looked for what you suggested and the only one near me seems to offer iui and ivf. But my husband and I did not want to go that route
@@TruthandFertility sorry my last comment removed your tag so I am retagging
@VeronicaMarce Ooo ok let me make sure I linked the correct website because NaPro technology does not do IUI or IVF. I also wouldn’t suggest that route either. I haven’t heard of a high temp pointing towards “over mature eggs”, although that’s not to say it’s not true. A more accurate way to determine if that’s what is happening is to get an ultrasound series test around the time of ovulation to make sure the egg is being released as it should be. I’ll check up on that link right now
@VeronicaMarce fertilitycare.org is the correct link. (Make sure you put .org and not .com)If you put in your ZIP code, any of the places you will find should not offer IUI or IVF. You’re also welcome to send me an email of the place you’re looking at and I can help you navigate it.
Amazing video! Love the way you explain everything, thank you so much!❤
Thank you so explaining this so well and clearly. I’m suspicious that I have low progesterone, but I need to confirm it with tests. What kind of testing other than blood test can I request from my midwife’s office?
Good question! The only test that I know that would confirm low progesterone is a blood test since it needs to be an exact measurement of the hormone. That would be a good question for your midwife to see if there are any other options. One thing to note is that many docs will test for progesterone around day 22 of the cycle, but that is assuming you have regular cycles (26-30ish days). If you have longer cycles, you may not have ovulated yet by day 22 which means progesterone wouldn’t be high yet. So it’s helpful to chart your cycle to know when ovulation happens so you get blood work done at the correct time (post ovulation). If you’re at all interested in charting, feel free to check out the links in the description of this video or shoot me an email (link in bio) and I would be happy to help you further!
Thank you for sharing this knowledge. Very interesting
So informative. Thank you Haley for continuing to educate us
Wow, this was so helpful! I didn't know my body doesn't know if its pregnant until two weeks after ovulation. I knew it was a TWW but I didn't know that. SO interesting!! Thank you!
This was so so helpful!!! I’ve never heard it explained this way and this in depth. Would you be able to cover if there are any supplements/vitamins that women should start taking when trying to conceive? Also, if there are any supplements that can help a woman to conceive if she is having trouble?
I’m so glad!! Great suggestion, I’ll put it on the list for sure. Off the top of my head, Optivite is a great place to start. You can find it on Amazon. If a woman is having trouble conceiving though, I would tell her to probably see a NaProTechnology doctor (see link in video description), and start charting her cycle so she can pinpoint when ovulation is occurring to focus intercourse during that time. If you want more info on that, let me know and I can send!
@@TruthandFertility thank you so much! I would love more info!!
