Dynamic Planks Home Workout
I've never been a fan of static planks. To me, how long you can plank doesn't directly correlate to how strong your core is. And I've never worked too much specifically on my core other than compound movements that required core strength.
A few years ago, I stumbled upon this set of dynamic planks and it made so much more sense to me. It was very tough for me then and still challenging for me now. I've used it from time to time as a benchmark test and am looking to use it more as a regular workout.
It kind of gets progressively more difficult and works everything from shoulder wrist stability to legs. Give it a try and see how far you can go (btw how did you like the names I came up with? 😛). Or tag someone to try this challenge! Remember form is key! I tried 10 reps each exercise and 3 sets and this was me at the end 🥵

Most unique finish of a boulder I've done to date, going through a hole. For some, that's a crux :P

    so great! What's your height and ape index? the move to come out from the toe hook without cutting feet was amazing!

      I'm 5'7 with -2 or -3 depending on the day.. keep the core tight and dig the toe in there, but definitely helps to have the length!

    Is 25 good for training as well? I am bulding my wall but can not go more than 27 degrees because of the space...

    • @alternativebeta
      @alternativebeta 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think so! 25 makes some of the moonboard problems quite a bit easier since some of the holds depend a lot on the angle, but it's still a good training tool for dynamic moves and endurance. If you are customizing your holds, depends on your level, you can go smaller and slopier than the normal moonboard holds.

      @@bossclimbs it was for me too. I could barely lift my whale-like body off the mats on the 40 degree. I stuck with it and am working my way through the 6a+ benchmarks now and have begun venturing into the 6b+ and 6c level. Point is, training works if you are consistent. I’m probably thee strongest I’ve ever been after 6 months of progressive hangboarding and 40 degree Moonboard.

    Nice! Great beta. I kind of knew the moves, but never had the strength or technique from my first time in Bishop in 2015 when I first tried it. Have not tried since then, but looking forward to trying it next time. Thanks.
