Brazilians are always at another level. You bring a song they'll sing the music you bring the music they'll sing a song. Amazing how this game WAS played, 24 minutes into the match its 8-9 and they're all going at it, full blast. Just a little "un-dusting" with the towel, but that was it!! Great times, great athletes!

I lived on Clearwater Beach….the after parties at the house with the players ….EPIC.

By the standard at the time, settings in sand volleyball games today are mostly catch & throw fouls.

Thank you for posting this. You were a super hero to me in my late teens and 20s. Side out to 15 with no clock , big court, no service “nets” and no antennas is pure beach volleyball. It really notches up the competition, creates amazing rivalries, and so fun to watch. Why we rushing off the beach these days? I got my AA in ‘98 at East Beach in Santa Barbara and I’m still proud of it. In those days we still played side out to 15 and even at that level had 2 day 32 team double elimination tournaments. Now I’m here in El Segundo with The Hov! See you in the South Bay!

Was at this match with about 4 of my friends, got there early so we could get a spot to put are beach chairs, also buried a cooler full of pitchers of wine coolers, we preferred beer but would of been busted.

I feel truly blessed to have played against the Michael Jordan..Lebron James..of the day! Fishy was one of my idols in 1982(I was.. 22 on the tour). Dane..no words can explain how he played( on the big court..old school days). Randy/Sinjin..Hov/ Dodd..OB/ Dodd.Fro/ Ack.. That cool feel/ vibe was there. Great times and great friends! THIS is why Beach Volleyball increased in popularity around this time... Not just Sinjin and Randy representing, but here we have two reigning Olympic Indoor Gold medalists and reigning World Champions taking their athleticism to the beach. PS Are both Brazilian players wearing speedos? would love to have seen Randy playing in Speedos LOL. Sinjin, not so much.
