Lee Stoneking LOVES to "preach" about women's hair, make up and fashion choices. In fact, he seems obsessed with it. He's CONSTANTLY mentioning uncut hair and the "holiness standards" of the Apostolic church. And I find it absolutely dumbfounding that he and the UPC organization completely ignore the fact that he's gay. I was impressed that he, albeit briefly, mentioned homosexuality in this sermon, a topic he avoids yet he can discuss women's hair and make up all evening. He even revealed in this diatribe that he was a make-up artist in high school, lol... HELLO???? If he weren't the celebrated and princely paid Apostolic fashion guru, he'd been a hairdresser. It's like the big pink elephant in the room that no one wants to discuss. He's the Liberace of UPC. And before ya'll start defending his effeminate mannerisms and bashing me, you should know that I was raised in a large Apostolic UPC church and met "Bro" Stoneking for the first time somewhere around my freshman year in college in the late 1980's although he'd visited my church before when I was much younger. He was very kind, extremely attentive and, looking back, unusually interested in engaging with the 19 yr old that I was. It's sad that women allow a man to dictate how they look and what they wear. It's even sadder that an elderly man has spent his life denying his truth. Uncut hair may or may not be "bondage", but living a lonely life in the closet is.

Surprised this hasn't more views. Simple and predictable but I really enjoyed it, so much so that I watched it twice ... There's something very compelling about Leah (Lauren Ambrose). And Jake (Adam Kaufman) has something about him of a young Mel Gibson blended with Ryan Eggold..
