Mine is rated and I tested at 40amps. Been in operation 4 years. Is on dc coming into solar shed. Also have single use fuses out at my solar panels so I can disconnect out there. .

Good on ya, Jason, appreciate your videos and insight. For an industry that is supposedly trying to help reduce the impact on the environment, I see far too much waste. The number of systems I see ripped out and replaced! There may be some shortsightedness with these solar rebate initiatives not taking waste into account unfortunately. After 15 years those panels physically look good, I'd probably put a cover over those junction/combiner boxes though, just to keep the elements away from the plastic and MC4 connectors.

For thin-film modules it is usually TCO corrosion. There is a good PDF by SMA called "Module Technology" that covers it.

That is certainly a different install by today’s standards. The combiner box on the roof, was there any evidence of water ingress? Great to see an older system still kicking on. That would have been a large system for the day as well. Great video and way to go fixing it rather than rip off and replace.

Good equipment, unreliable app, so best to steer clear until they fix the app issues. No server bandwidth for customers to use the app a lot of the time.

For heaven's sakes get rid of those things and replace them with LFP batteries!

Nice setup and well explained. However a lot of heat can accumulate in your cable ducts. Always have holes in it for cooling purposes.

I guess they're NMC instead of LFP.

WOW, I inspect my BYD batteries (they're in cabinets) every six months or so, luckily not an ounce of trouble after 6 years. Yes, and credit to LG for seeing this through, it sounds like it would have cost them a lot, but hopefully it strengthens their product quality and testing to avoid future re-calls and problems. Nice job Jase !

What will happen if, many years later, the inverter fails and Sigenergy is no longer in business? Do you think it would be possible to integrate the Sigenergy Uber Integrated System with inverters from different manufacturers?

yuk!! uninsulated live bars how does that pass Aus standards, terrible cable routing no custom solid bars, circuit breakers look like junk, and no rear penetration for clean mount? The inverter display looks tacky. I couldn’t recommend this as a Sparky especially as they have no track record but hey if people want to risk it be a lab rat, I’d definitely stick with proven setups Tesla/Fronuis/Sungrow/Goodwe?! How many wrong pieces of information I can squeeze in one video. Solar panels are not running in their maximum current. They rarely get anywhere near their maximum current. When you add solar panels in parallel you multiply current not reduce it or maintain it.

So is the answer yes? You used a yummy cable? Always wanted to know how well pepper spray would work on discouraging this sort of activity.. but never had the need. I imagine it'd be possible hell for the next sparky to discover as well.

Nice work, have had the buggers in our ceiling last year chewed a couple cables, even chewed through the rangehood exhaust fan duct they made there way down the duct tube and scurried around into the control circuit board, we were wondering why the led lights would sometime go on and off randomly, after pulling it out to investigate you could see where they pissed everywhere, got some CO contact cleaner onto the board and fixed the problem luckily, it’s one of those fancy rangehood setups by Schweigen where the exhaust motor is at the roof level

Isn't the Sig DC and the Franklin AC? I always use Victron, but as you say, so many connections and different components to sync up and get working together. So much time spent and room for error. I just finished a large system with 14kw of solar, 2x 8000 kva inverters paralelled, 2x 450/100 mppts, 4x 10.24kw lithium power wall batteries (96kg each) cerbo gx, colour screen, comms cables, isolation switches, bus bars, fusing, circuit breaking. It took about 2 weeks of effort and focus, a sig system would have taken 3 days with the panels. I'm turning to Sig this year, way easier install and great warranty too. I hope they turn out to be as reliable and functional as marketed.

Yes, seems like a complicated system, I have way fewer connections with my AC coupled Sunny Boy/Island setup !!!

just checked and tengen was approved on 9/1/25 by SAA. I have some shade on the roof and I thought 6x 4 port micro inverters can handle 24 440W panels can you recommend a brand and is that the best way to go. The other thing I noticed in you review is the panels where arranged in several directions, is it better to have them all pointing north if possible or is half east and half west acceptable. The only other thing is thank god for Australian TH-cam reviewers they are the only ones that show all the gnarley bits and give genuine useful information. Other countries (you know who) seem to think the review is about them more then the product so again thanks
