I can guarentee that if Kevin was a happy boy; his mother's doubts about pregnancy would have disappeared. It's not uncommon for a woman to have doubts; accidental pregnancies happen a lot; Kevin did not allow her to show and give affection; he's pure evil and psychotic and was only happy at everyone else's misery, when a child does not allow affection what can the parents do; Eva was terrified of him which he actually respected due to seeing through his true nature
@@v1vic4the entire point of the movie is that he's a psychopath and there's nothing the mom could've done. Nothing. All she ever did was carry his burden. The question is how are you falling for the same trap as the characters in this film by blaming the mom.
Ezra miller was rlly beautiful sad how he is irl but I am only going by his physical looks like his jawline tho😩😍🤭also am I the only one who thought that he was part Asian irl ? I’m shocked that he has no Asian in him maybe it’s the eyes and dark hair idk haha plz don’t hate me
The best part for me is when he realized he was going to the adult prison! All that evil he had inside him that was the only time I noticed he was very afraid!!!
Ikr. All tough to innocent people who cares for him. Let's see how tough he is to hardend inmates who don't give a f. He'd be turned out or killed within a couple of weeks
I honestly feel he was born a sociopath and it didn’t help that his mother was checked out. His father was completely ignorant but loving toward him. He was a psychopath as time went on and mom was a total push over. If i was mom and the husband just never took my word for the son needing help and pointing out his psycho behavior, I would leave the husband and take daughter with me; let him deal with Kevin alone. Move to another state far away and get restraining order. Dude is dangerous and there is no excuse to fully blame his mother for that sick behavior; killing animals and blinding his sister, killing dad/sister, then spearing his classmates to death…yeah
So much attention to Kevin being a “bad seed”; but let’s not overlook his mother’s bad parenting. She is rejecting of him from the start, but loving toward her daughter. Why?? The hug she gives him at the end appears to be the first hug she’s ever given him.
@@Luzgoishzre. I think the problem started way before that. She got pregnant via a 1-night stand and never wanted the baby. She never kissed or held him. She touched him only in violence.
UM....there is a tonne of research that showcases psychopathic traits are present in infants who show unusual behaviour, such as him crying for hours on end. He couldn't be soothed because his brain was wired differently from the start. You seem to think that the mum is a superhero who can just cope with having a baby/toddler/child like that. Being sleep deprived, having a husband who doesn't support her and a medical system that doesn't listen to her, what was she SUPPOSED to do? Hug him and hope for the best? She is human and she was being ignored when she was raising red flags, right up until he snapped and killed people. If murder and destroying one of his sisters eyes, as well as all the other stuff doesn't make him a bad seed, I'm curious what does? Psychopathic, or callous unemotional traits, can be managed with psychotherapy, never reversed. But she went for help through the film and was turned away, so how was she supposed to get access to the help he needed if she was brushed off? The sad reality is that it is practically impossible to change people like Kevin with hugs, love and understanding. They don't respond to it.
the moment he didnt speak and wasnt potty trained at 6 it should have rang bells , but what did they do , homeschool him , isolate him , isolate the child with antisocial tendancies
The problem is that his own mother didn’t like him before he was even born, he realizes this and is enraged, especially when it’s obvious that she is able to love others.
@@SevdaMq. I think he was doing his best to reflect her feelings about him to her. He was showing her what he’d received. She screamed through labor and delivery, and he screamed through his first year. All of his behaviors reflect hers.
According to Ricci, she was sort of a dream girl in this film by which I think she must have meant this was not intended to be a realistic depiction of how a woman would behave, But who knows, it takes all types. Layla was certainly a terrific person. I tell you when I saw this film in 1998 I thought she was the most beautiful woman who ever lived.
As a woman, it reminded me of romance books/movies where the man is absolutely, unrealistically perfect 😉 even when the woman makes mistakes he loves her unconditionally. I just saw Layla as the female version of that:) I think everyone could do with the fantasy of unconditional love and a partner who understands them:) we don’t always feel that way with our real human partners.
