One of my last memories with my granddad was playing snooker with him here, in the summer of 08, I was among some of the final ever people to go here before it closed. I’ll always cherish the memories I had when going here.

Sailed decky learner on her in the early seventies
Hello Stephen thanks for your message sorry it's late I only just seen your message. It's fantastic to see that you worked on mincalo sidewinder fishing trawler.stephen as you can see I make you tube video now it's up to you if you want to tell me your story I be happy to make a video of you story of the time you worked on mincalo.let me know if you do . thanks for your message.
@@paulandrewsexplores Hi me and my brother sailed on her for one trip me as decky learner brother decky. When we returned to LT we touched the bottom pretty hard, it was late in the evening. The crew who were all local went home me and my brother rolled into our bunks and soon fast asleep. Waking up to the sound of banging on the Hull ,Once out of our bunks to investigating this racket it was then we realised we we're locked in the cabin by a steel grate blocking the access to the cabin, we were trapped with no means of escape. Due to the vessels scaping the bottom the company Boston's had decided to dry dock the vessel up the river however nobody was told about me and my brother, it stars to get scary, panic mode set in what if this what if that, fire, sink you get my drift. After some hours it felt like days we heard voices we called out to no avail it was then we found a large spanner and we took it in turns banging on the Hull, Eventually we managed to draw attention of some dockers who were really shocked to find us locked down there. Two more hours to wait as these guys didn't no were the keys were. Only until Boston's give them the go ahead and burn the locks off We were freed from our steel cage. I think my settling was £15. For the 11 day trip.
I would be one of the old guys who'd suffer with those stairs. It's great how wooden teeth were used to stop sparks. I'd of opted for iron and probably blown the place up with that choice 😬. Love the drone footage.
Thanks Stuart hardly mill drainage pump took over 20 years to restore and thay are still working on this mill.the volunteers are really friendly I enjoy doing places like this.
@@paulandrewsexplores Yeah Dodge like you I appreciate volunteers . The only volunteers who should be shamed are the volunteers who work for this crooked and self serving Tory gvt.
Excellent Paul
Thanks Stephen .
It's Amazing how these old buildings have stood the test of time Dodge. The crap builders are throwing up today won't be around for decades. Like Anglian Wanderer says drone footage good to see these buildings.
Thanks Stuart.i am fascinated with old drainage mills I think that they stood test of time.the Norfolk windmill trust is started to restore more of the drainage mills.

I lived in the next village, Somerleyton, as a child in the early 1970’s. I remember seeing the mill out in the marshes. Such a shame it’s been allowed to fall into disrepair.
Yes I agree with you on this.i take a look at most drainage pumps and I find herringfleet the most important drainage pump not only because of it age but the history to this mill .thank you for your message.

Goings back to do a camping video and a drone footage as soon as I sort my drone out having some problems with the drone. Hopefully next week I will do a camping video. Goings to a beer festival Saturday.
It is sad watching clips like these as it shows what my granddad called the greatest civil infrastructure crime ever committed in the UK, and his opinions on Beeching, I won't repeat in polite society. He was an ex railway man, lol. But I'll wage a pound that if some of these routes ever reopen, they'll be profitable,.
A lot of respect to your grandad I do love to explore old railway station's you can feel the past .thanks for your message.
we should rebuild it all
It was a cracking day out Dodge. So much to see and not even the £10 Cheeseburger ( Ooow Much ? ) at Five Guy's couldn't spoil it .😋
I must say Stuart the day in Leeds was the day to remember so much to do in Leeds.s. yes the burger was a bit to much its nearly a weeks shopping for me LOL. The bridge is about 100 years old, being an early concrete structure built by the Great Eastern Railway.
Hello Richard I had that feeling that this bridge was about a 100 years old and thank you for this message.
Some nice drone work Dodge. Bridge project looking good too.
Hello Stiart I was next to the ferry house. This drone footage was amazing because of the 160ft crane's I had to go 200ft . Hope you and your family are well thanks for your message Stuart.
