To me it is unrealistic. Certain people show symptoms of change but revert back to their terrible selfs. Having chole doing a change is toxic yes people change but not everyone does.

For some odd reason, my OC Michal would fit into this world surprisingly well, LORE: Michal had DID, and he hated it. Mike was very proficient with magic, so he made a pocket dimension where his personalities could mold their own area, expectedly, the personalities did not like this. Val being the most vocal about it. But Mike never tried to get rid of them, he just made sure that they were out of the way of his life, he didn’t need them, he could live alone. He refused help from a doctor and he bottled up his other personalities. But, they could take control of his body during the night or times of high stress, with the personalities being able to change their shared body to their will. Val, tired and anger if not being considered a part of Mike and being isolated by the others duo to the fact he was Mike’s dark thoughts, dark desires and anger that boiled below the surface, so when he took control of Mike’s body, he made a deal with an spirit, sending Mike into his own mind, treating him as just another personality. Mike, eventually, figures out that this was how Val felt, so tries to reconcile with Val but is pushed away. Val loves the feeling of being the main personality and refuses to believe Mike will treat them all the same, like a real person. Val then blocked off the ways for the personalities to enter their body, making them team up with Mike, de-throwing Val. Mike still tries to reconcile with Val, but Val pushes Mike away and a journey of healing insures. (Aka Val is the trama holder and wants to be treated like a real person)
