Can you upload short stories? Thanks
Thanks so much. I enjoyed listening to the podcast.
I am not seeing "Schedule the sale" tab or the tab next to it. Under the price list, the page was pretty much blank. Is that a bug ? How should I set temporary price then?
Hello! If you email writinglife@kobo.com the team will be happy to look into this for you.
Ahem. The Kobo Arc was in colour. I still have and read on mine.
You're right!
How do you get to the chat window? Do we use comments instead?
Absolutely bonkers to me that *a person* and not some heavily-mechanised assembly robot assembles these things
Thanks sir ❤❤❤
I'm new on Kobo
Grate work Kobo🎉
Bring back firefly! Let's create a petition.
I spend a lot of time writing my book, and I think my biggest fear is not being able to make sales after writing for 4 months 😭
Thank you all so much for sharing your experience and the lessons you learned in your collaborative process.
I hope our experiences are useful to other authors!
Great presentation. Really enjoyed this one.
Hello, I have been with Kobo (via Smashwords) for years and sold nothing on Kobo (many books not this pen ) When I talk with other authors they all struggle to sell anything on Kobo - adult or romance or even post apoc - could you tell me if there is any guidance to getting a sale, it seems like an untapped market - is going via Smashwords the issue? Thanks
Hi Christie! Thanks for reaching out. Our team focuses on books published direct with Kobo Writing Life. You'd need to chat to Smashwords about book promotion on Kobo. We're happy to elaborate more if you want to email writinglife@kobo.com.
Just here for the voices sorry 😩❤️sending loves
Great episode ❤thanks
Puisque vous êtes Canadiens, j'écris en français. Comment justifier parfaitement un texte ? seuls les logiciels de graphisme proposent des réglages précis. Merci.
Thank you ladies! My baby author heart appreciates all your insight! 💜
Love these inside looks & recaps. ❤
What a great video. Very encouraging. I’m new to KOBO Writing Life with my audiobooks. Thank you to Sarra for letting me know you have a YT channel. Subscribed!
Everything you said about wanting so badly to be successful and trying everything that you see working for others is where I was a few days ago. Now I know I need to concentrate on what works for me and then I will be successful. And knowing that I've succeeded in so many ways. I need to really take time to understand that. Thank you for speaking to what I'm feeling. Now I know I'm headed in the right direction. Great information and inspiration. 😊
I agree with Inka York. Sarra got me into planners, washi tape and all the different colour pens etc etc that I have!!! It's made planning so much fun!😊
Sarra is amazing! ❤❤❤
I'm watching on the replay. I absolutely LOVE Sarra! I couldn't plan the way I do without her HB90 Course. I agree with Inka York--it's Sarra's fault that I have a planner obsession!
When I was a child my grandmother would send a wallet as a Christmas gift every year. She would include a Hallmark monthly calendar and I loved writing in it
Thanks for all the great information! I'm hoping to be done with my novel by the end of the year and Kobo is the first place I plan on publishing it.
I don't have the option promotions in my dashboard. But I see later in the video not all country benefit from the promotion. My books are written in Dutch. Can I promoot in the Netherlands and Belgium?
Hi! If you send an email at writinglife@kobo.com, we can provide info on promoting Dutch content.

They look great!
All of them look so nice.
It was very interesting thanks
Hello
I missed the live but enjoying the replay. Watching from Scotland UK.
I love that she's Neurodivergent. It's great to hear.
I learned so much about a writer's journey. She was very genuine and open.
Very interesting. He's remarkably clear. I've just grabbed his two Popcorn Principles books on Kobo Plus.
Second Chapter Authors is a perfect title. I am seeing more and more women authors who have left the legal profession as well as the mental health field and turned to writing. I was a psychiatric caseworker for years. I switched to holistic therapies and now in my early 60's have finally turned to writing. One manuscript from last year awaiting a revision. A three-box novella holiday set for 2023 and 2024 onto my mystery series.
We're glad you enjoyed this interview. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for helping lol
Mark Dawson is so knowledgeable and incredibly generous with his knowledge, he's almost unique in the self-pubbing world. Great interview.
Clinton C. from Nigeria, here...
I try to listen to some of my current audio cozy mystery every day, as well as listen to one podcast every day, before diving into either an editing job or writing on my own current book. Imagine my surprise and delight at stopping my current Karen White narrated book to tune in here to discover Karen White is your guest! What is the universe telling me!? Lol!
Kobo products are the best.
I have to keep publishing here.
Thank you to Kobo Writing Life and Ms. Callaway! It's hard to find recent interviews of historical romance writers on YT. This one was engaging and informative.
excellent
Thank you it was helpful but I still need your help where can i click to start a new publishing process ( new book)
I was excited for this until I heard that we don't get paid during a reader's trial period. 30 days is a long trial period for us not to get paid. Our whole catalog can be read/listened to and we make nothing.
I've heard of digital publisher's, that if they have a 'subscriber' who, even if they DON'T buy or just for the fact that they 'clicked' on the TITLE to read its description, the AUTHOR WILL MAKE MONEY. That 'royalty' would come out of the subscription rate they pay.
I'm reticent to let my readers know about KP, because I know they would be brand new subscribers. Therefore, I wouldn't be getting paid for my books. I guess I'll just let readers discover my titles organically. I do feel bad for the authors whose books were read during the trial period and didn't get paid. I don't feel like this is a fair policy for authors.
There's digital publisher's who STILL PAY ROYALTIES to the Author's, even if a 'reader' DOESN'T buy ... or even READ the 1st page. Just for the fact that they 'clicked' on the TITLE to read the description, the AUTHOR still receives a royalty. That 'Royalty' comes out of the subscription rate that the 'reader' pay's.
Is this true? Why would they do that? That doesn't sound fair at all. Yes, I think organic discovery is the way to go then. Let the readers who are already on KP discover you rather than drive your exisiting readers to the program. That's a sad policy on the part of KP.
Where's the tell us about your new relase link?
