¡Multilingual Futures! (Anke al-Bataineh, PhD)
Lebanon
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 17 ม.ค. 2013
I train language teachers in multiple countries and languages on the use of student-centered, interactive methods to make their language teaching more effective. I am particularly focused on the revitalization of endangered languages. I am happy to coach teachers of any language, or work with any type of school to improve their language program. I teach and coach in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Western Armenian, but very open to producing translations of these trainings into other languages.

How do I use the 4 Fs to prepare scaffolds for my learners?
มุมมอง 171หลายเดือนก่อน
Scaffolding is when we offer students a "leg up" so that they can do things they wouldn't otherwise be able to do. The 4 Fs can guide us to brainstorming what they might need for the lessons we have planned.
Why do we use Project-Based Language Immersion to keep languages alive?

This is a short overview of what methods work to create new fluent speakers, and there are many more detailed videos on this channel. There are many similar terms that are used: land-based, nature-based, play-based, hands-on, inquiry-based, problem-based, and STEAM teaching. But all of these connect in the underlying structure that makes a difference for whether learners ever reach fluency. Fol...
More Vocab =/= More Fluency
มุมมอง 242 หลายเดือนก่อน
Colonial language teaching is based on memorizing lists of words that center the teacher's expertise and disregard practical communication. Part of focusing on fluency is having the discipline to be student-centered, and that means way less vocabulary, for way better results. #vocabulary #fluent #fluency #languageteacher #languageimmersion #languagelearning #endangeredlanguages #indigenouslangu...

I help teachers develop highly effective pre- and post-assessments for proficiency in their language, and this is the best free, online option I have found for doing so. I'm happy to help with the content of your questions, but here is a quick tutorial of how the tech can work for producing the data you need, which will then allow you to track progress as you implement a more effective language...

Verbs matter in competencies -- HYE
มุมมอง 233 หลายเดือนก่อน
We have to avoid non-demonstrable verbs like "know," "understand", "remember" when we write competencies. That helps ensure that we plan a way for learners to demonstrate their learning, and tasks that give them a reason to learn.

Designing a Public Product in the ALIVE! Framework- HYE
มุมมอง 143 หลายเดือนก่อน
A discussion in Western Armenian about how to design an effective public product for your PBLL/PBLI unit Sorry for the low quality! This video was made during quarantine with low quality equipment but I've tried to rehabilitate it as much as possible, since it is a short discussion of all the key points. When we have time, the coaching team will create a new version.

Thank you. I have a question. May I know what are the similarities between Communicative Language Teaching and Action-oriented Approach?
Thanks for this very useful video. I also really appreciate access to the padlet. I found the articles, videos, and other materials super helpful!
Thanks for your video. I feel like I learned a lot. The content is easily specific and clear. Hope to learn a lot about teaching methods through your videos in the future 🌎
Superb looking
Write an academic article about '' Communicative language teaching (CLT)'', using paraphrase, summary and quotation. (make use of real sources and show the way of making the citation for them). This question I didn't how to answer it in my exam thu I didn't know what it meant by using paraphrasing and summarizing and quotation Can u help with a simple answer?
Those words are unrelated to this topic, they are general academic skills. It would be best to find videos explaining each of the terms individually, of which there are many. They are related to how academic papers are written, but not specifically to language teaching.
