The origin of the word Andorra is unknown, although several hypotheses have been proposed.

About The Last Historian
Hi there, I‘m Kelvin! I've lived in Kenya all my life and I love it! I enjoy walking, and couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful Kenya can be. I found myself inspired and decided to get some camera equipment and make some videos so I can share my adventure with everyone!
I will mainly focus on small towns, villages, picturesque landscapes, rolling hills and mountains, forests and lakes in Kenya and who knows maybe one day further afar!
I upload Every FRIDAY 4.00pm GMT (08.00am PST) (11.00am EST) (21.30pm IST) (9.15pm ACST)
I use the free version of capcut to do some really basic editing. Mainly making sure the sky isn't over exposed. It's from Camera straight to TH-cam. No cuts, no fancy business, no talking, just walking.

Why Was The English Flag Changed?

۞ buymeacoffee.com/kelvinswalks All support is highly appreciated and it helps me keep the channel going! While ultimately less well know than the "Union Flag", more commonly referred to as simple the British Flag, St George's red cross on a white field is the national flag of England and the English. But for much of the Middle Ages, it wasn't the only one used by the kingdom of England, and St...

۞ buymeacoffee.com/kelvinswalks All support is highly appreciated and it helps me keep the channel going! Today, German football fans proudly daub their cheeks black, red and gold, though back in the days of the Old German Empire, the tricolour was one of black, white and red. Sorry, the so-called Ed the Confessor flag is based on a medieval misunderstanding of one of his coins.
It's Cave Lions, they were in Europe for along time until around 13000 years ago. 👍
Why did an apple change into an orange? The two flags are different types of flag. One is a national flag that emerged from a religious flag (St. George's cross), the other the personal heraldic flag of the kings of England. At the Battle of Agincourt, Henry V had a number of banners to indicate his presence on the battlefield, the cross of St. George, his royal banner, the flag of St. Edward the Confessor and the flag of the Holy Trinity. Two flags used at the same place and same time is a pretty good indication that they served different purposes and one did not replace the other.

"Nassau being related more in Germany" ??? Nassau is 100% in Germany. Willem, born 1533, was a German Count of Nassau-Dillenburg and inherited the title of "Prince of Orange" after his cousin Rene de Chalon, Prince d'Orange, died in 1544. As Orange was a principality and Nassau a county, Willem took the name of (in Dutch): "Van Oranje-Nassau". The name "Orange" comes from "Arausio", a Celtic god and later turned into "Orange". The general idea is that the orange turned to red on the maritime flag as it was easier to distinguish on a ship at sea, and the Dutch fleet was very important for the republic. There is also an awful lot of "I believe....."and "I'm not sure" in this video. Funny, for a "historian". It was "patriotten" and "Prinsgezinden" bij the way, not "Staatsgezinden" (and it is not "Prinsengezinden"). Stadhouder-to-be Willem III was born 8 days after his father, Willem II died. Therefore there was no immediate new Stadhouder - the Stadhouder had to be elected. The Prinsenvlag was officially abandoned in 1944, not 1652.
Slop
Poor video, no answers
Great to know mate
He literally in the video says in the beginning both flags were used somewhat interchangeably until the Dutch non-monarchists achieved greater power during the later 1600s enforcing the US of their flag which had ties to the largest most important province of Holland. Did you just not finish the video?
@JackMurphy-io2qz 1) No insightful context was given about what truly sets the two camps apart ideologically. Left wanting. 2) The colors of the flag were reaffirmed by the current dynasty (Wilhelmina during the interbellum). The story is not complete without talking about the 19th and 20th century.
That's the wrong seal for Bavaria. That's the modern one which has the people's crown on it.

Nice video
Thanks
I'm against these controversial flags being banned completely unless they are used in an offensive form. I don't think there's any good thing associated with the German swastika flag
the rising sun flag wasn’t a national flag
Amazing video! I learned more on this video than in hours searching!
Great to hear!

And are germans dutch?
Yes

@@RoelJansenNo. But English speakers used to call Germans, as well as people from the Netherlands, "Dutch", probably from confusion with "Deutsch".
