Thomas Mapfumo the legend
Wow
The rumbling sound of the african drum wont be replicated again since the passing on of the inimitable maestro Lancelot Mapfumo
Chamu chamu iweeee
The best musician to come out of Zimbabwe 🇿🇼..
ORALE 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💙
He is thee we best we have and we will ever have. Still talking and fighting for the voiceless and the oppressed people of Zimbabwe. Enough respect, the only artist who refused to be muzzled for speaking up for the people .
Aiwa Mukanya ndizvo kani Angaridza saiye ndiani Chimurenga masterpiece ,rebel, toi toi Hit singles 1 and 2 Hondo
2023 we here listening to this Chimurenga guru"Thomas Hugo"
It reminds me of one of his show i attended at Sakubva Stadium in Zim in 1989 with one of my homeboy Nyasha Mandianike whom i have lost contact ashi
Timeless classics from the Master.
Ephraim Karimaura on guitar.
Am young but when listening to this music,it shows and feel much how am a type of guni tribe.and feel of my origin trough this musical instruments.
Chamunorwa chiiiikooo
There seems to be another version of this album mixed differently which I am used to. When I heard this one I noticed marked sonic differences with reverb, vocal sound, the drums, guitars and so on. Am not complaining, just wondering if the other album version is a remix or a complete re-recording.
This is the original version.
Great Zimbabwe musician of all time

Beautiful music from our brothers in Zimbabwe!
Mukanya at his best.
Hwahwa ndaka huramba
mune mvana ndinopinda runa, hahahahaha
Meaning?
.....rweshanu ndinobuda nayo
@@ronaldmuchini7501 The full tsumo is "Mune mvana ndinopinda runa, rweshanu ndinobuda nayo"... Meaning if you are a young man, who has never married before, don't fool around with single mothers as they are probably more 'seasoned and skilled' than you are when it comes to matters of the heart. It's easy to get 'hooked' to the extent that you end up marrying that single mum 😂
@@muongorori hahahaha my fav song from mukanya so far. Though tsumo dzichindivhara
ho yarira mai vemwana, ho yarira mucherechere, ho yarira ndisina kudya. iyee zvandanga ndaona. 🕺🕺🕺
This is African music at its best. Roots culture. Mapfumo took this music to the international with a lot of style and skill. Mukanya "the big BABOON" of the Monkey totem. A great superstar alongside Franco of the Congo region, Ray Phiri of South Africa, and many icons. The living legend. Was at his recent show in Capetown 2021. Still hypnotising . 💯
So lucky that you saw him. I had a chance way back around 1990, 91 or 1992. I lived in Cambridge, MA, USA (Boston area) & I saw a flyer for his performance. In retrospect, I am so sorry I didn't go to the concert. I took it for granted that I could see him the next time he came to town, but then my life changed & I moved away & started living in locations like Upstate, NY where Acts like Thomas Mapfumo rarely play. I did see a lot of great performances in the Boston Area. Everyone from King Sunny Ade & Alpha Blondie to the Red Hot Chili Peppers & Primus. Those were the days.
This is deadly, rootsy stuff masterfully crafted by the steady hand of the master, Thomas Mapfumo. He should go back to this sort of stuff one more time before he hangs his 🎸 and passes on the mic.
Yeah I love that organic chimurenga music but I would prefer the mbira guitar being dominant over everything else
Thanks man
Dat bassline on Chamunorwa is sick !
washington kavahi played it
