Agree on all fronts, also the Witcher 3 being ten years old hurts me to my core, it can't have been that long ago, lol. I just feel people want to complain about something, and I stand by actual Witcher fans are hyped for Ciri. All the people complaining have probably never played the Witcher games and want to add to the online outrage.

@Nintendad64 Exactly! And yes its crazy how its turning 10 years old and I actually played it for the first time last year 😂 and its turned out to be one of my favorite games! (Better than Skyrim) Also with Cyberpunk being great now I love what CDPR has in store for the future!

All good choices, I need to get around to playing Astrobot, I've heard good things about Dragons Dogma 2 and might play that once I get through my massive backlog (famous last words).

When I was a teen I started with Star Wars but sold them all when I went off to college. My second iteration of collecting started with Marvel Legends and WWE. The WWE has continued to this year, and I dabbled in the NECA Universal Monsters series which are really cool.

That's good to hear he gives of Superman vibes in another movie. I wasn't keen on his casting but from what I've seen in the teaser I like him as Superman so far. Hopefully this movie is good and does well at the box office. I've got a lot of faith in James Gunn to succeed here.

The only reason they crossed my mind was not because of Naughty Dog but because I just knew how the internet was going to react. I'd like to say I was shocked but in this day and age people just want to be mad about something, even a new IP that shows only a couple of seconds of game play. My biggest concern for this game is how much is it going to lean into the IPs that inspire it. When I play a new IP I want it to be mostly new, not some knock off off of another IP. But I'll reserve judgement to when this game comes out, my guess late 2025 or 2026.

Exactly, it's just everyone over correcting. Almost makes you long for the 16-bit days where we only had run and gun, beat'em ups, and platformers. No one cared what the characters looked like, just fun games.

Completely agree, nuanced discourse has disappeared and it seems a lot of people are just blindly choosing sides. I've always felt the best way to hire someone is by merit, and of course because of the DEI, you're right now people just scream it whenever it's not a male protagonist. Regarding Alan Wake 2, I've had several discussions with folks on it's lacking sales and of course a lot of them claim "wokeness" with Saga and not because you know it's not on Steam. This kind of arguing makes me almost miss people yelling about the console wars.

Yeah I'm with you on Naughty Dog. I liked Uncharted but it was never my favorite, Drake felt like a lesser Indiana Jones or even Laura Croft. Couldn't get into TLOU at all, and now with Intergalactic you are kind of right their stuff is just rip-offs off of successful movie franchises with less of a story. As far as Witcher, you're not wrong with that they didn't need to make another one, but 3 put them on the map with the mainstream so going back to that IP makes finical sense, after all with the disastrous launch they had with Cyberpunk and all the extra manhours they had to put into fixing that game I wouldn't be shocked if it lost money for them (note I got CP day one and loved it, still need to play the expansion though). I like your idea about a prequel that takes place long before Geralt though, that's actually really intriguing to me and could have been a good fresh start, and jumping on point for new fans. @@Nintendad64 I didn't even care for Uncharted. Lesser Indiana Jones is correct. Also, it's Lara, not Laura. What is it with Americans and spelling and/or pronouncing Lara's name as Laura all the time?

My bad on the type-o, I literally work with 4 Lauras so whenever I'm typing out any form of that name my fingers are so used to typing L-A-U-R-A and if I don't check myself I just continue, lol.

For leaving aside the whole controversy over about Naughty Dog the intergalactic trailer did just didn't seem very interesting. I mean it was more of a cutscene than a trailer and a cutscene at what looks like a quiet part of the game. It was just 2 characters we do not know talking about something we have no context to understand. Also the title is not great

I agree, the initial wave of "political ideology" games were being touted for their diversity even though they were pretty bad, and sites like Kotaku would rage about users not liking them and calling detractors whichever "ist" fit their narrative. Then you have a game like Veilguard and Dustborn (especially) that is not only poorly written but is just a bad game, but got some media praise because it was "sticking it to the chuds". Also the Art Director for Avowed isn't helping matters with his Twitter rants. I'm excited for Avowed because I like New Vegas and loved Outerworlds (side note, psyched for the sequel), and I'm just banging my head on the keyboard and I'm like dude, shut up, you're turning off half your buyers. Sadly though, like it does so many times in the identity politics games, their has been an over correction. Now it seems anything with a woman character gets blasted as "woke" by a lot of people who probably don't even play video games. I was joking with a buddy of mine the other day if the original Tomb Raider games were made today a lot of their fans would probably hate it because of Laura, it's just so weird to me. And like you said we know so little about these two new games at this point in time that raging about them is a bit insane. I do think their a bunch of grifters on both sides moving in on video games these days because they saw how profitable this kind of chatter was for proper politics and then with movies. Disney Star Wars helped launch a lot of TH-cam careers. Thank you for your view and comment.

In all honesty, that's valid. In the 90's I skipped out on the original Tomb Raider games because of that. That's part of the meaning of Art, is resonating with people and it's not going to resonate with everyone. I think the only time it becomes a problem is when we start screaming at developers on the internet because they made a choice we didn't like.

Appreciate it man. I really hate that identity politics have found there way into gaming. My day job is dealing with actual politicians and gaming has always been my escape from that world of childish fighting amongst adults, I hate that politics has now found their way into my favorite hobby.

Honestly, that's how it started with me, but my collection blew up because I was bored during covid. I've scaled way back since then, only buying a select few favorites here and there.

Honestly I don't like doing clickbait titles, and most of my content doesn't have them. Sadly the way the TH-cam algorithm is, every once and a while I need to just for engagement.

Quick question, did you actually watch my video or going off the title? I quite plainly state in the video that I don't believe the game is woke or dei, I argue against it. I make the case that Indy has always had strong female companions in the movies and therefore if that is the case in the game it isn't woke but staying true to the source material. I even go as far to say claims of wokeness against Bethesda as a whole are pretty baseless.

Yes, it's a click baity title, but if you watched the video I actually state that I don't believe the game is woke, in fact the whole point of the video is counter arguments to people saying the game is. I don't normally like to have click bait titles but sometimes you have to just to get engagement, the algorithm for TH-cam sucks. I'm excited to play the game and will be streaming it when I do.

That stinks about your old laptop but that's awesome that you got the free gamepass. Definitely check the specs on Bethesda's website because I've heard they're pretty heady for PC.

Then it seems fate forced your hand. I peaked at the reviews this morning (not too much want the experience to be fresh) and it seems that they are overwhelmingly positive so that makes me even more excited for Monday. Almost tempted to pay the extra to get it early but I've got Pikmin and Quantum Break to finish so I'll do that first and dream about Indy.

I've played through the game now, and I can say nothing about it is woke. It feels like an Indy movie from the 80's from Lucas and Spielberg.

I mean we don't know that yet at all, but we'll see. If I'm honest, this game could be a 10 out of 10 and still flop. I don't think the Indy IP has the strength it once did. I think only diehard fans still keep it alive.

The identity politics in video games goes both ways. There a game developers who are shoehorning it into games but there are also gamers (or so called) gamers out there who are looking for it where it doesn't exist so they can rage bait people. Before Alan Wake 2 came out a lot of people were calling it "woke" and then played it and realized it wasn't even close to being that. All I'm trying to say is, why don't we wait until the game comes out before we judge it.

@@Nintendad64 alan wake 2 is the definition of woke and IIRC they literally worked with either sweet baby, baby ghosts or one of the other 500 consulting firms. you literally don't even play as the character the game is named after for half the game. you cannot argue in good faith that alan wake 2 isn't woke. The shoe horned in a second protagonist which checks all the boxes. We've seen the employees of machine games and bethesda, it's already been confirmed they are working with sweet baby. like bro, don't die on this hill.

How is Alan Wake 2 woke? Because Saga is black? That's not a good argument for something being woke. I will agree with you that when I saw the launch trailer I wasn't happy that Alan would be sharing his game with another character. However, narratively speaking, it makes sense to play as a second character besides Alan. It could have been Saga or Alex Casey for that matter, but I think its Saga because I think she has a connection to Door, that Remedy will probably reveal in either the next Control game or Alan Wake game. Sure she checks a few of those DEI boxes, but to me that doesn't make it "woke" simply because they don't throw it in your face. Saga is a character they've been mulling over since the AW2 teaser in Quantum Break and in the 5-6 years since Break that character has obviously changed. There have been a lot of theories about Hatch and Door in those two games but Remedy obviously doesn't have the rights to Break and I think they made changes from what could have been Break 2 and we got Control instead, and while crafting the story for Alan Wake 2, Sam Lake could have easily changed who Saga was. She may have started out as just an FBI agent and through out the process he might have decided to connect her to Hatch who later became Door. So in that case changing her race would make sense. And as far as her being a woman, I think they were going for the X-Files vibe of Mulder and Scully. But then again those are just my thoughts and series on the game and character and I could be completely wrong. I'm by no means a fan of Sweet Baby Inc and I think their influence on Spider-Man 2 hurt the game narratively, but I just don't see it in Alan Wake 2. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

"noting wrong with Starfield" overall, no. It plays like a Bethesda FPS, the game play is what I expected and the story was okay. Overall it's just fine, it didn't meet my expectations for it and I'd say it was probably a 7, it's nothing great but I wouldn't say it's bad. I only had it crash on me once, I got lucky I guess, but it does suck when a game crashes on you. I'm sorry my opinion on Starfield makes you not want to watch anymore content from me. I'd welcome you to hang around a bit longer you might see some things you like. But either way, I appreciate the view and the engagement.

I hope that's not correct, as an Indiana Jones game, I want to play as Indy and I will be very disappointed if we do play as his sidekick. I'm with you on the Mary Jane levels for both Spiderman games, I didn't spend $50 and $60 respectively to play as MJ, I want to websling across NYC, not sneak by guards.

I think when you're doing it about a game that hasn't been released, reviewed and hasn't played yet, yeah I kinda do. It's different for games that are out like Dustborn or Concord where you have evidence to back it. Now I could be completely wrong and this game could be a complete mess and I'll definitely admit it if it is.

I'm going to finally watch it this weekend. I've decided that in the run up to the game's actual release date that I'm going to binge all 5 Indy movies to get into the feel. Really wish I could find my brown fedora to wear when I stream the game but since my move I haven't been able to find it. Probably in a box somewhere in the garage or attic.

I wish more people would wait so they'd stop doing this. This is like the new season pass or lootbox. Giving them money for almost nothing on their part.

Good to hear! I saw Bruce Greene from Inside Games talk about his early play through and that's kind of what he said as well. I'm honestly so excited for this game. If I didn't have such a backlog I'd probably pay the $35 to play early.

I can't wait to play it. I've overly excited for this since the teaser announcement a couple of years ago. Since it's on gamepass I'm probably going to do my best to avoid reviews just so I go into the game as fresh as possible.

It's the best, sets the mood for the entire game ahead. I think it's one of the best opening themes in Video Game History.

I'm not going to sell everything but I do plan on downsizing quite a bit. Since recording this video I have sold a few figures. After the holidays I'm going to do a big inventory and see what I want to part with.
