This is so melancholically magical This makes me imagine that I'm in a ballroom, holding back my tears while witnessing my lover, betrothed to another, lost in this waltz. For a collection of short stories I'm writing, this variation of Waltz No. 2 makes me think of a man losing his mind, prancing about a stage as if surrounded by an audience he alone can see. I think the closest image would be Netflix's Cowboy Bebop - Mad Pierrot. A broken, sad man, darting around an abandoned amusement park on Europa (I think)

Bro I've just arrived home after a concert with the orchestra (i play cello) and in the concert we played Shostakovich Waltz no. 2 and THE FIRST video that showed up in TH-cam was this Mastepice! I heard it and not only for being after the concert, this song is important for me personally. I felt realy good peace hearing this!
