Glad to see no damage. that is the best engine guard out there. Be safe 🛵
@@kidi8124lunch it is the top of the line when it comes to protecting the Goldwing. Thank you. No damage is a great thing.
Yours is newer than my unit.

@@TwoupwiththeTueys Thank you very much. Thanks for watching and responding. Didn't know you guys watched my channel. Thank you for that as well.
@GoldRyderOne i watch it all the time
@TwoupwiththeTueys Thank you very much.
Hello Mac-Very nice follow up to the guardrail incident. How great is that...finding out that no further damage occurred. Proof for sure that the Traxxion Engine Guard is an A-1 product. Thanks again....and I just noticed your subscriber count at 999. Early congratulations on 1K and have a great Thanksgiving week!
@MarksGarage17 Thank you, Mark. Yes, it is one hell of a product. I hit that debris so hard, I just knew there would be more damage. I got lucky with a little help from Traxxion Dynamics. One thousand subscribers will be cool after only 11 months. It's not a goal of mine, but still cool.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Mark.
Side question, why did you call your bike snowee?
@F6B_ADVENTURES Well, her name was going to have Snow in it from the start. Then my 4 year old grandson said, "Pappy, when you go down the hill, do you say "Wee"? That was it... Snow-wee! Aka: Snowee.
I recall Max mentioning that the newer engine guards have the oval holes at the rear. Good news, no damage!
@@cruisemansgarage I am so thankful. Snowee would have been devastated if she got a blemish on her.🤣
I would have expected to see much worse damage, you are a lucky guy!
@Traxxion Me too. Traxxon Dynamics' Engine Case Guard saved the day. Feel free to use the video however you want, Max.
Love the Media room. The GR1 signage is an A-1 Pro job. Per usual high quality fit & finish, Mac style. Now to the engine guard. Traxxion engine protection is on another level. Heavy duty, counter sunk attachment points, engineered to shift under great force as you mentioned. Traxxion Dynamics as you know are engineers consisting of deep thinking talented team members. With Max at the helm. And he doesn’t take kindly to seeing any cheap knock-offs coming out of the Pacific Rim region. It would be a nice visit to Traxxion. I’d love to ride his shop bike to see what a Full Monty suspension upgrade feels like. Nice job Mac! Happy Thanksgiving!
@roadglide Thank you , Road Glide. The office/studio is almost complete. I'm still waiting on posters I had made from Robert's pictures. I'm also looking for a professional tribute to Cruiseman.
Hello Mac! I'm glad you were not harmed, and I wanted to let you know your bike is fine too... we started "slotting" the rear holes on our engine guard this year to avoid occassional "manufacturing tolerances" from Honda which would make one in every 50 guards require some shimming to get all the holes to align. The slots just make than unnecessary. So your engine is as it was before you hit the debris! Your video should be "required reading" for everyone who buys a new Wing and thinks they don't need anything under that engine case!
@Traxxion Thanks, Max. I just released another video addressing the rear screw holes on your engine guard. Hell of a product, Max. Please review the second video I just released 30 minutes ago. Thanks for watching and responding.
@@GoldRyderOne Will do.
@@GoldRyderOne PS, once in a while some bikes will have a screw vibrate out. We provide extras, which I hope you have. If not, let me know. I don't recommend any thread locker. If you ride in all weather, like you do, I would even use anti seize.
@@Traxxion I have extra screws you provided with the kit. Thanks again, Max.
that was a close call sure coulda been alot worse glad your ok i live just south of you in charlotte would love to get out and ride sometime
@@BobPayne-r8w it sure was a close call. We can make that happen. I could introduce you to Snowee.
The TD guard should be standard equipment on a new wing installed by Honda. What a poor design flaw for such a magnificent machine! Glad it saved you the heartache associated with a broken case and all the aggravation and expense that goes with it.
@@MeanderingMotoMonk I fully agree with you, David. That impact against the engine alone would have been a major problem.
Thanks for that video Mac. I agree with you that the plate saved your engine. You were riding with Lady Luck on your side my friend.
@goldwingmoments Yes, sir, Larry. I was riding with Lady Luck and her entire family that morning.
Love the poster. Turned out great. Glad you did not get any more damage.
@cruisemansgarage Me too, CM. Now, I am moving to the the big leagues with my TH-cam poster. I still have to put up Robert's pictures that I converted to posters. My studio is 98% complete.
Glad you didn't go down Mac. I'm with the others, let max see the guard but I think he will be most interested in the mounting and the bolts. We all know the guard is the best and the only weak point if any would be the bolts, if so he, I know already has a great plan if it can be made better. Be safe
@kidi8124lunch Thank you. Once I remove the guard, I will be able to determine the amount of damage to the brackets. I never thought of something hitting the very front tip of the guard. I guess we all assume that a glancing blow would be the likely outcome.
@@GoldRyderOne From the looks of how large that was I could see it wrapping around the tire, and going up into that plastic in front of the guard, and well you see what happened, thank God you were safe, and the bike didn't get much, if any, damage. I am sure you were doing the speed limit at the time LOL. Be safe.
@@kidi8124lunch Well, I was doing 65 mph upon impact. Can't say what the speed was before the truck hit the guardrail...lol
Hey Mac- Boy...After further review....so glad to see and review actual conditions of what the impact caused. Amazing forces at speed. I'm sure Max at TD will appreciate seeing all this too. Thanks for communicating all this to us. Best to you. BTW....like your backgrounds!
@MarksGarage17 Thanks, Mark. You picked up on the new and improved background. I'm not done yet, but I'm getting there.
You handled that incident like the pro you are Mac. You stayed steady & within yourself. Having the Traxxion belly pan also ensured no damage. Glad you are speaking about night riding. High lumen LED Lights are to see & “be seen”. Not just merely a bike show & go. Auxiliary lighting is a Function first. More now than ever before in-car technology has created more distracted drivers, including OTR drivers. As motorcyclists we understand the new state of readiness we should be operating in. For not having ridden in the dark all that much you did a great job. Putting in some good mileage to test you. You passed with flying colors. We use your experience to reset our own selves. Thank you for sharing once again. Watch the Story of Clearwater Lighting on TH-cam. Feb 2020. Very interesting.
@roadglide Thanks, Road Glide. I definitely need to look into a brighter headlight solution for night travels. Although that was snowy's first nighttime trip, I personally love traveling at night to avoid traffic. I have no doubt that Traxxon Dynamics engine case guard save the day. I will have to look into those lights that you speak of.
@@GoldRyderOne I know I’m beating a dead horse. Don’t mean to. But every motorcycle would benefit with auxiliary lighting. The BMW owners clubs, some serious tarmac slayers, swear by Clearwater. Check out Max’s (Traxxion Dynamics) Warhorse build, where the installed the Clearwater Super Sevina’s. It’s this project that sold me on this particular model. I already knew of the brand’s reputation long ago. But they are rich. ($) To me worth it. In order to “just live my life”. I have to be living. Staying alive and enjoying the ride whether early mornings or evenings is mitigating dangers by increasing safety. Auxiliary Illumination does just that. Our bikes are merely DOT required lighting which is minimal. Now. Just live your life brother.
@@roadglide If anyone knows about lights, it's you. I will look into those lights for sure. You are correct. For me to just live my life, I must stay alive out there.
@@GoldRyderOne 100% Mac!!
Man that will make you pucker up... Glad you and Snowee came out ok !!
@robertwhitemoto Ues it does. Snowee was my main focus, after all. She's new and can't afford to be damaged in any way. I'm not a big fan of road rash, but a $30,000 motorcycle that is only 6 months old would be too much!!
Great video Mac. Max's engine guard plate more than likely saved you $13k or more. Max may want a copy of that video and he may exchange the plate for a new one at a reduced cost. When i get my wing that will be the very first addition to it before it even sees black top. Thanks for showing it. David from Ontario, Canada
@davidedwards5773 Max is always welcome to use my videos for whatever purpose he wants. You are absolutely correct, his engine guard save the day. I will still have to pull the guard off to assess the damage to the brackets, if any. I could not imagine snowee sliding across the asphalt or tumbling down the interstate. Thanks for watching and responding, David.
Enjoy your videos as I too am retired. I was thinking about making that trip to enjoy a breakfast with everyone sometime mid to late spring next year. Live in northeast Indiana so it would be a couple days ride each way. Keep up the good work and enjoy retirement.
Hi Mac, great video. Thanks for sharing! The engine guard definitely saved Snowee from much more extensive damage. Ride safely!
@tom81773 Thanks, Tom. The engine guard absolutely saved the day. I enjoyed our visit and the time we spent together. Thank you for that.
Good call not maneuvering out of the way when you got to it. Keeping that machine straight kept you from wiping out for sure. Thanks for sharing your real world experiences .
@jesusmelendez9563 You are so right, Jesus. Any sudden shifting of the center of gravity could have produced an entirely different outcome. I learned as a young man to never overreact or over adjust on a motorcycle. Sometimes, you have to just brace for the hit and hope you survive. A straight line is your best chance of riding out the incident. Thanks for watching and responding.
I think I’ll be adding the bright Clearwater led lights like Roadglide has.. if you can see great, this might be avoidable.. the bad part with the new bikes is that in my opinion, the lights suck. Glad you made it out of this without much damage, that engine case guard just saved you @$$. I bought mine and it saved me too..
@F6B_ADVENTURES Yes, that's the bad part of riding in the dark. We do not get the visual distance with our current lights. No one has more experience on those long trips like you. I had all the lights on, including the fog lights. They are just not popping as much as we would like.
@ there are people with further rides than me but yea. The lighting is really important shoutout to @roadglide for having the best lighting
@F6B_ADVENTURES Yes, Road Glide is lit up like a Christmas tree, but safety is the key. I like riding at night, so I may have to evaluate my lighting.
@@F6B_ADVENTURES Thank you for the compliment Adan. You are absolutely right. In the case of the company Clearwater. “The story of Clearwater lights” is an interesting one and can be viewed on TH-cam. Please check that out. The owner had hit a deer at about 80 mph on a Yamaha FJR. The rest is history. Max at Traxxion has installed Clearwater’s for the War Horse. Check that video out too. I chose Clearwater because they are made in the USA, renowned for their quality & customer. They are nit cheap. I have no complaints. You should pay for quality. Call or email this company snd someone with knowledge will answer quickly. They offer as an option an interchangeable lens kit that fits snug over the lights. One pair is clear & the other is amber. They both provide an added level of protection while offering lighting & weather condition benefits. This option may have since changed. This kit might be included. So check that out too.
@@GoldRyderOne Safety is every reason I have auxiliary lighting. First & foremost. Secondary is aesthetics. It does help that they look good too. IMHO.
That’s for the reminder,I need to put mine on. Question, how satisfied are you about the upper Panical air deflectors since you big trip to Texas?
@GaryAugustine-z3w Thanks, Gary. Get that guard on right away. Never know when it will happen. Those upper and lower air deflectors are great!!! Riding in the low 50s is not a problem now. You can turn the leg deflectors up and pull in the engine heat. Great, great, great. Next to the engine guard, they are the best add-ons so far. Thanks for watching and responding.
Good Afternoon Mac, thank you for sharing this video. Who knows what damage you would have incurred if you did not have the Traxxion Dynamics engine lower guard installed. You should reach out to Max as he may want to look at this damaged guard. I hope you will keep us updated on new findings after you remove the guard. All the Best, James. PS: What are the wires at 5:17 behind the guard; I could be wrong, but I don’t recall them on my bike?
@jimcfds Thanks, James. Once I remove the guard, I will have a better assessment of the damage to the screws and brackets. I hope they are not bent. It's too cold today to do much underneath the bike. I am very curious about the overall engine guard damage. Thanks for watching and responding, James.
@@jimcfds I'm not seeing any wires at that point of the video.
@@GoldRyderOne I guess my eyes are playing tricks on me.
@@jameshales6958 It could be my eyes.
@@GoldRyderOne Hello Mac, I originally watched your video on my iPhone. I just watched it on my MacBook and may be I'm seeing engine casing casting ridges. I need to look under my bike.
Way to remain calm with that guard rail! Two questions: 1) How did the traveling in the rain compare to the return trip? 2) What are Snowie’s safety features for when you stop and enter places?
@selenamcallister6662 I hate traveling in the rain, most because of the amount of cleaning involved. Snowee has a built-in alarm system for quick stops and a disc lock alarm system for overnight stays. Snowee is better protected than I am, well, publicly speaking. Thanks for watching and responding.
The introduction to your video is so nice. Did you do that yourself?
Where did you install the remote?
@MichaelandDeborahMoll to the left of the console underneath. You would have to be standing on the left side of the bike to even see the lights. Since most of us do not actually use it, we try not to make it so visible. There is a gooseneck under the console. I zip-tied it there. Send me an email to goldryderone@gmail.com, and I will send you some pictures.
I was riding with ya....10-4 I'm in the house....I dropped a sub
@@SlappyAdventures Thank you, Slappy.
Glad you are feeling better.👍🏽
@@timothykees6187 Thank you very much.
I myself love getting up early, but that time is used for early morning coffee. I'm just saying, the time right at dawn is preferable for me to take off, it's so I can see what's going on and to have a better perspective of the view around me. Arrive alive!
@johnsalvi9073 is just too early for me, John. I enjoy my late hours too much to sacrifice them for the early morning thing. Thanks for watching.
Well done my friend. So good to see you return home from a safe trip. My longest trip on my 2017 Goldwing was 15.5 hours. Now I only ride 6-8 hours per day. Will be watching for your next production.
@goldwingmoments Thank you very much, Larry. Snowee gets too tired to go 15 hours. I'm good to go, but not Snowee. She's not a fan of anything over 350 miles in a day. LOL
Good video, what kind of seat bag are you using
Thank you. Here is the link to the video on the bag. th-cam.com/video/vEMnUOHhZwE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gRN1OjRuIwXCPz61
I have the same bag for my 2019 Goldwing tour, very versatile bag, I bolted a piece of 1/8 plywood to the inside bottom of the bag. It really helped the bag maintain the shape after I strap it down.
@markkuczajda3012 I use a hard top laptop case. Which basically does the same. Outstanding, idea though. I'm able to pack almost everything in the house in that one bag.
I do a lot of fishing hear in Michigan, I can get a pair of breathable waders, wading boots and soft side cooler with a weeks worth of food in it plus all my tackle and still have room left over. Really good piece of luggage
@markkuczajda3012 Well, Mark, it looks like I'm going to have to learn how to fish before I travel up that way. Yes, I know, I live in the south and don't fish. Crazy, to say the least.
Awesome Video.🙏🏽👍🏽
@timothykees6187 You are definitely being too kind. Thank you very much for watching the video. I would be honored if you followed the channel.
Your trip spurs my interest in meeting the breakfast club even more except for your finding it in the dark. I'm always amazed at Robert White and Cruiseman on their rides to breakfast. I live in Rual Indiana outside Peru. Thank God I have to ride 60 to 70 miles to find an interstate Hi way. My wife and I have been in all the lower 48 on the bike and are looking at Texas in late April Early May 2025. Did you set your 2nd trip meter for the trip? It would give you the bikes estimate for mpg.
@GarryLippold Absolutely no need to follow me, Garry. As you can tell, I get lost even with a GPS. No, I don't mess with the trip odometer. I always video record snowee's miles on every trip and every ride. On this trip, she got an average of 30 to 31 miles per gallon. She gets about 40 miles per gallon on local rides. I'm not sure I'll ever travel as far as you have across this great country of ours. I thank you very much for watching my videos. I hope you follow this channel.
Hi Mac, more miles in less time. Before long you will be doing an Iron Butt ride. A nice video. I am glad that you made it home safely. Again, it was a pleasure meeting you in person!
@tom81773 Thanks, Tom. Yes, it appears that I will be a trendsetter. Trust me, Tom, the pleasure was all mine.
Enjoyed the trip with you,Mac, Glad you’re home safe and sound.
@@MeanderingMotoMonk I'm glad you came along for the ride, David. I hope you felt every mile as I did. LOL. Thank you very much for watching and following.
Great video thanks for letting me ride along with you,,,,James
@jamesduckworth3736 Thanks for riding along with me, James. I do appreciate you following the channel and watching my gas fillup videos. LOL. Sometimes, my video content is just content. But I enjoy sharing my thoughts, and I enjoy you listening to them. Thank you very much.
Awesome ground pounding & tarmac slaying that went on out there Mac. I’m sending you Memphis Mike’s contact to you and this video to him. Had I thought about your return trip I would have done that at breakfast. You had a great idea. I believe that’s how GWRRA got it’s start. A meet up at a local resturant between a couple of friends, sketched ideas on a napkin and the rest is history. Be great to use the synergy of The Fellowship & Brotherhood Breakfast Club to create an annual ride. Keep it simple. Great trip Mac. Glad you arrived safely. You & Snowee inspired & motivated someone out there. Guaranteed! Welcome to the brotherhood.
@roadglide Thank you very much, Road Glide. I am very big on real brotherhoods, and I believe you and cruiseman can put something together that would put Wing Ding to shame. As you said, it all starts with an idea. I still think the "Road Glide and Cruiseman Annual Extravaganza Emporium" would be a good name. LOL
Totally agree RG!
Glad you made it home safe. It was great seeing everyone Saturday morning. I'm in if you come up with some kind of annual ride.
@kro650 Thank you very much, Ken. I think we could get a lot of people to sign up for such a ride. But I don't have the juice to pull it off. I am so new to the TH-cam channel stuff that I am only popular in China. LOL
@@GoldRyderOne I know. I remember that you are a big deal in China.
👌
Good morning, Mac. It was so great to see that you made a safe return back to Clarksville. Great job for sure. You are amazing! Your footage through Memphis reminded me of a trip our ride group from Wisconsin took in April of 2022. We rode the Ozark mountains, and we spent one evening downtown Memphis. Had dinner at "Rendezvous'" and enjoyed great barbecue! Thanks for sharing your return ride/run home!
@MarksGarage17 Thanks for watching my fuel up video, Mark. There wasn't much to cover on the way back. I turn into an entirely different rider once I enter into big cities. I will not be bullied around or boxed in. Of course, I couldn't show all that, or I would be critiqued about my riding safety by people who do not ride at all... LOL. I got the worst gas mileage of any vehicle ever ridden. The Gold Wing remains a smooth ride above 80, but it drinks fuel. Unfortunately, there is little to no power left above 100. Not that I need that anymore, but it would be nice for an 1800cc to have a little more bite, if needed. I'm just saying...
That SiriusXM made my Alaska trip happen. If you have to look for stations every so often.. the only bad part about SiriusXM is that it seems like it repeats every so often. Maybe that’s just my channel. Have fun!
@F6B_ADVENTURES That is true. I listened to news channels most of the time, well, basically the entire time.
Skilful riding well done, looks like you had a ball of a time 👋.
@@JohnSheehan-m6n I really did have a good time, John.. Those guys are truly exceptional people and entertaining.
@ Absolutely great when one meets like minded people. Keep up the good work Mac 👌
@JohnSheehan-m6n Thank you, John. They are definitely a great group of people.
I enjoyed watching you all hook up. The last segment made me giggle. Now to work out how to get Sherbert from Ireland to Texas… 😂
@patgodfrey8451 You can do it, Pat. It will involve some creative thinking and a boat. Those will be some serious miles, and you'll have to take plenty of rest breaks... LOL.
Great video Mac! I don’t want to brag but I made that trip last May and it was 1,134 miles from Michigan. I must admit though it was just the first stop in a 3 week kinda Route 66 trip. Your video did bring back fun memories of that adventure. A great bunch of guys.
@unicornhairhead That's not bragging. That's stating an impressive fact. That is definitely a long haul. I'm not sure how far I'll eventually do some long haul traveling, but I do know it'll be 300 miles at a time or per day.
Mac. I know the concentration challenge when riding long distances. Ive done two rides in the past 3 years, one 10 K, and the second 7K, 40 and 25 days respectively. So, I use Audible Audio Books to keep my mind alert and focused visiting to my favorite authors. I now have completed over 300 novels over the years. Not sure if that interests you as an alternative to talk shows on your radio subscription, but wanted to give Audible a shout out. Next trip is going to be the TransCanadian Highway, from East to West starting in Orlando. Maybe this upcoming early spring. I camp at Hilton and carry camping equipment for an out door change of pace. LOL. Keep you videos coming, enjoy everyone of them, as I do with those you visited in Plano.
@SecurityBob That is actually an outstanding idea, Bob. Audio books would keep my mind occupied and give me the ability to learn something new. Unfortunately, I would be unable to see the pictures in the book....lol. I also plan to do some traveling, which involves a little bit of camping. Nothing like F6B_adventures.
Glad you made it back safe.
@DonKruse.Wing-Rider Thank you. I'm never running that long in a day ever again. However, I can say I did it twice.
@@GoldRyderOne I have done the long day rides in the past... Not anymore long days on a bike... Now will still do it in a car. Made the trip from Oshkosh wis to Fort Worth in one day. this past year
Whew... so glad you spared me all that crazy driving ... must be that bussa-blood still pumping through your veins... I was starting to get queasy ;-) Glad you're home safe friend.
