I can imagine it was probably something like seeing Tony on his 12 fight winning streak, or Topuria right now if he beats Islam and some more FW contenders. But the past does not determine the future. The fact of the matter is Jon Jones is currently now ducking Tom Aspinall, and that’s something that will stain his legacy forever. Another fact is that he robbed Dominick Reyes and lost to him, had an extremely close fight with Thiago Santos, refused to fight a middleweight coming off a loss on short notice, beat a stylistically favorable matchup in Gane, and only moved up once Ngannou left for the PFL. As for the owning me part, you didn’t own a damn thing my friend 😂 me and other subscribers were completely wrecking you. But since you’ve proceeded to present your opinions and actual arguments, I’ll now refrain from the insults and actually tell you why GSP is superior to Jones. Every negative you can argue against GSP you can also argue for Jones. Robbed a new gen guy that shouldn’t have been close? Check. You think Hendricks won? He did, but so did Reyes. GSP got knocked out by a jobber, but it’s MMA. Shit happens. He instantly rematched the guy that beat him in both instances, and in one it was a legend in Matt Hughes, who he avenged not once, but twice. Jones waited years to rematch his tough fights in Gustafson, and never rematched Reyes. I think we can both agree that Jones’s best win is DC correct? DC was older than Jon is now in their second fight, where Jon was still on steroids. For their first fight, he was younger than Jon is now, but not by much. And the age gap between him and Jones is still bigger than the one between Jon and Tom. GSP ducked Whittaker and other contenders after winning his second title, yes. And that’s scummy. But imagine if he didn’t just do that, but he ALSO pulled an egregious Michael Bisping (or Jon Jones) and fought an old washed bum for “legacy” and said he’d retire afterwards while Whittaker was right there getting more and more wins and title defenses dominantly over Romero, or whoever else (like Aspinall is doing right now). Imagine GSP stuck around after beating Bisping, and forced Whittaker to defend his interim title while he fought Anderson Silva in a “GOAT vs GOAT” matchup. That’s literally exactly what Jones is doing right now. GSP also never tested positive for steroids and was presumably clean his entire career. His “weak” competition that you mentioned was just as strong as Jon beating up “legends” who were really just undersized old middleweights. They have the same careers, GSP just got unluckier a couple times, but he avenged most of those wrongs. Jon didn’t. He never got KOed or subbed, but I think popping 4 times (which is around 4 times more than any other so called goat) evens that out

As for fighters being pieces of shit, come on man. I know we’re all human. I’m far from perfect. And it does give them some humanity in a way, but not like that. When I think of a flawed human/fighter I think of Sean Strickland. Someone trashy who has brash opinions and some questionable takes and who is also a rude asshole and unlikeable to many people. Not someone who beats their wife into a pulp in front of their kids and rams into pregnant women while high. That’s just evil. We all make mistakes, but not mistakes that big and that many times. @Axel-MMA I think Reyes had a chance at a rematch if he had beat Jan, but he didn't. No contender gets a rematch after a close lost. Maybe it's happened once or twice but as a contender you have one shot maybe ever, Reyes didn't earn that. Gus either. They both lost unanimously. And I know you think they won but in the interest of keeping the sport good, contenders have to be aggressive cause there's no incentive for champions to go and take risk. If you consider how Jon beat Shogun, opening seconds running across the ring to take it to the champ, PRIDE legend. It was textbook how to take it to a champion. As for GSP, he beat a bunch of nobodies. Matt Hughes was 34 when he finally beat him and very one dimensional and that's his BEST won by far. Stipe may be old, but he has half the fights Stipe has but at a heavier weight known to have older competitors and champions. Hughes was hanging on by a thread. As well, you guys weren't giving me no work. Those guys had no point. This is the only time anyone put out a GSP defense. They just ran the "uh-uh" defense. Basically using talking points and not actually knowing a defense. But as a young fighter, do yourself a favor and watch both legends. Learn from them cause they both did shit that blew or minds from spinning elbows in the clinch from Jones to the crazy combos from superman punches GSP threw. They both innovatived a lot of the common things you see in today's MMA

The Sage Northcutts of the world, I hope get smoked. Strickland is just kind of an edgelord. In the octagon, he's not the same fighter. Jones, fights like a sociopath. Also he had a Nike deal, only fighter to ever have a shoe, it's a pretty big thing. He's also like the last great fighter at Jackson-Wink. That was like the undisputed best MMA gym at one point. It's like the end of an era.

He was my favorite fighter.
