I restring my 36-string Oscar-Schmidt autoharp model OS-21C. It took a while, so I decided to speed it up a bit. 4/10, do not recommend (unless you have a lot of time!) 00:00 - Commentary and assessment 02:14 - Removing chord bars 02:50 - Removing strings 07:25 - Dusting body 08:10 - Replacing strings and end of commentary 09:45 - Taping pegboards 11:38 - Replacing strings 33:33 - Tuning up str...
Twitch Live Stream Recording - 2023 02 05 15 07 54
มุมมอง 9ปีที่แล้ว
I'm messing around with live streaming, and I had recorded this with OBS while I was streaming to Twitch. I thought, hey, since I didn't save this to Twitch, it might be fun to share this to TH-cam instead! So, here you go. Featuring my cat, Clementine, and noodling on guitar. I might do more, who knows? Here is another clip with more guitar noodling: www.twitch.tv/videos/1729482553
Five Phases of Silent Night · Video Score
มุมมอง 474 ปีที่แล้ว
A relaxing set of variations on a familiar theme for two guitars played with slide and a bass. This arrangement came about from a practice session I created for this tune. I recorded the melody and basic bass line as reference tracks, and then I improvised a harmony line, intending to record more takes. But then I tried a little experiment with the harmony track, displacing it a beat or two (al...
Greensleeves, as arranged for lute by Francis Cutting but rearranged for a bunch of folk instruments
มุมมอง 1495 ปีที่แล้ว
My somewhat-annual tradition continues with another odd Christmas-y arrangement and video score! This time, it's a 16-century version of Greensleeves as arranged for solo lute by Francis Cutting "mashed up" with our more familiar version of the traditional tune often sung with the Christmas-time lyrics "What Child is This?" There are four "variations" here: · A straightforward arrangement of th...
Melody for Violin (or Bb Clarinet) & Guitar · Video Score

It's an original melody for beginning violin & intermediate guitar (and it was also written with Bb clarinet in mind). And the demonstration recording is actually four guitars. Enjoy!
Christmas Time Is Here - Four Settings for Stringed Instruments

A fun little arrangement of one of my favorite Christmas tunes.
Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria" · Arrangement for Guitar · Demonstration
มุมมอง 598 ปีที่แล้ว
I found a very bad arrangement of Franz Schubert's "Ave Maria" (aka, "Ellen's Third Song", D. 839, Op. 52, No. 6, 1825) for guitar in an old music book of mine - so bad, in fact, that I felt compelled to do my own arrangement of this tune. Here's a demonstration video of said arrangement. Enjoy!
Just-Intonation Experiment 8
มุมมอง 12811 ปีที่แล้ว
A screen-recording of a little just-intonation melody with bouncy rhythms. Part of a series of just-intonation experiments I conducted while an undergrad. Fun-fact: If you treat the first 3/8 measure like a pick-up, you can keep a quarter-note beat thru 'til the end.
Just-Intonation Experiment 1
มุมมอง 43911 ปีที่แล้ว
Another greeeaaat just-intonation example here for your listening pleasure! It's an experiment with modulation to the 7th-partial using my own relatively-transposable just-intonation scale thing. It's a little more abstract than my last example (th-cam.com/video/HaVxosyIlAc/w-d-xo.html). Now I'm using a crossed-circle to represent the new root. Retuned using microsynth: hpi.zentral.zone/microsy...
Relative Just-Intonation Example
มุมมอง 56511 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a somewhat low-quality example of "relative" just-intonation. Yes, the beginning is cut off, but oh well. This uses a scale of whole-number frequency ratios mapped to our familiar 12 tones. This scale is then transposed relative to the scale previously used. This relative transposition is indicated by a backward treble clef, where the clef's blob represents the note in the previous scale...
Sounds very nice
Awesome!
