be careful when buying iFi products. i recently got a zen dac v2 after seeing all the positive reviews, and it was a good deal on amazon due to the v3 coming out. for one, i experience crackling in my headphones when turning the volume knob. i contacted iFi and none of the steps they listed to fix the problem helped at all. i even sent the product back to get a replacement, and the issue is still there. i've tried everything, even using the dac with a completely different device. nothing fixes it. the other issue i had is popping/clicking whenever a new sound starts. this is due to the dac turning off intermittently when there is no sound playing, for some ungodly reason. they have a setting in their driver menu that is supposed to fix this issue (changing streaming mode to always on), but it does absolutely nothing. after doing some research, i saw that a lot of other people had this issue. the way to fix it for different people seems to be completely random. some people simply went to older firmware, some had to install the default windows drivers rather than the iFi ones, but for me neither of these solutions worked. the only way i could fix it was installing third party software called 'Sound Keeper'. TLDR: iFi has awful drivers. be aware of that before purchasing one of their products

The Zen DAC V2 was pretty good, it lacked clarity and had some quirks but it was okay for the price. The Zen DAC 3 is a hard pass though, they're keeping similar features and pushing it out of reach of the budget segment. Not to mention I've sworn a blood oath to never engage with Ifi's lazy, lying and stone-walling customer support reps ever again.

Vinyl Player? Is this a new market. It looks like a record player to me. A couple of things, records are pressed from a master and the master is cut not etched. The tone arm does not transmit the vibrations to the player. The wires inside it transmit the flux created by the magnets from the stylus in the cartridge. Inner workings you claim. You only described the outside and that at its most rudimentary and as noted above not always correct but plenty of flowery words. Yes! The sound going from a record to the speaker is a bit of magic. But you missed all the magic. If you put your ear close to the stylus in the grove you can actually hear the sound very quietly without anything else.
