Exceptional Minds, a 501(c) non-profit organization, was conceived in 2010 by the parents of young adults on the Autism Spectrum adept in digital visual arts but unlikely to ever work in traditional visual effects or animation studios due to various ASD-related challenges. This is the KNBC 4 News story about Lloyd, a 19-year-old student in the first EM Academy graduating class, and EM's first p...

A condensed overview of the 2003 Fall Vintage Classic. This was the first race for the fully restored Lotus (7169-13-FF) of 1972 Austrian FF champion, Gerhard Irsa. It was one of the winningest Formula Fords in Europe at the time. Car was the subject of a famous photo taken at the '72 Jochen Rindt Show in Munich - mounted vertically on a wall, with Jackie Stewart and Helmut Marko standing besid...

Hi, My name is Lloyd Hackl. I work as a visual effects artist at Exceptional Minds Studios in Los Angeles. Since I prefer family entertainment, my favorite studio is Disney, and my favorite non-Disney characters are the Chipmunks/Chipe...

A longer version of the feature race. The Fall (or Spring) Vintage Classic, hosted by San Francisco Region SCCA, was its flagship annual event on the West Coast. I was privileged to participate several times, the first with my fully restored Lotus 69 F-Ford. Note: This weekend was literally overshadowed by the heavy smoke of a raging brush fire on the Monterey Peninsula (courtesy of the Army's ...
Beautifully detailed cars and nice video! What music are you using? It works quite well with your video.
Thank you for the comment. TH-cam provides a selection of generic library music. I chose that cue as the best fit: nice nostalgia vibe; heroic and a bit melancholy too. My career of 45 years involved editing and music composition for motion pictures and broadcast. Racing and modeling have been lifelong hobbies.
Thanks for the info!
Pricy 300-700 usd for these cars damn they are beautiful but out of my oroce range and if you think about it they cost more the the real car at scale if you convert the price from 1/64 scale to full scale its almost triple of the real cars if they was 1/64 scale. Handmade pieces of art one day ill have one just for my collection bit racing
Well, if you think about it, $500 x 64 = $32,000 - the price of a cookie cutter used Prius, but a tad less than a handmade ‘67 Ferrari 330 P4. It takes a minimum of 25 bench hours to craft a Signature BHR 1/64 scale slot car body. What’s a fair hourly rate for that standard of craft work here in the first world?
I noticed the decals you had in the intro, where did you get them. I need some for a 1/24 richard petty plymoth 1970 big wing carrera, I also need the back wing which broke
These days, we mostly just design our own decals and custom print in limited runs as needed.
@@roberthackl6341 How about the wing?
@@roberthackl6341 Could you make a hood stp sticker and roof and 2 doors 43 that would go with it.

F1 are beautiful
What chassis’s are you using ?
I mainly use the AFX Turbo (now Bulldog) chassis for the sports cars and Mega G+ for the formula cars. Both chassis are readily available with a standardized world spec for sane speeds and super fun handling when run at 12v. I also make a mounting clip for AFX Super G+ (now Viper V1 and BSRT G3). Thanks for the good vibe! A 7-year labor of love.
You just hit it out of the park with these beauties and what everyone would love to have !
This is great stuff Bob ! nice montage and excellent choice of available music from YT. I hope you get some business and some HO new enthusiasts as a result.
Much appreciated!
Very nice work! One of the best ...
Thanks, Acki. Means a lot coming from you!
Looks good Rob, might tempt me yet!
