Oh man, first of all thanks for watching! I sold the MT09 about a year ago. I would say without a doubt get the MT09. Don’t even think twice, the only thing the MY07 has is the sound but the TQ and power of the MT09 is top notch. Also the sound of the triple is very nice to with a full exhaust on the 09. Happy to share more thoughts and if it’s in your budget get the MT09 SP. Upgraded suspension and cruise control would be nice!

I can assure you they are super secure. Been on his bike for 3 years now and we used all included parts. We have put some crazy weight in them as well. Not sure what you’re referring to with the upside down hanger?! He bought the mounting kit and bags directly from Indian 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

I know the exact part you're talking about - and it's riveted to the bag. I don't think you'd get out of the driveway with your bags if it wasn't in place. For those unfamiliar with the mounting system, the U hanger goes into the channel on the spool (mounted on the fender) and then the plunger (outside of the bag; inside the spool assembly) / lock hardware assembly (inside the bag) provide downforce and opposing tension to keep it firmly snugged into the channel. The plunger assembly otherwise free-floats within the spool assembly. Without that U hanger, it'd all just slide out and you'd have a few scuffs to show for it. You can see the U hanger assembly going onto the spool at 2:07-2:09 in the video. We used the shot of the dry-fitting in the final cut - as it showed the hanger going onto the spools more clearly. That's why you can see the plunger assemblies all sitting on the seat. You can clearly see the plunger assemblies in place at 2:15, though. It's a pretty solid system. The bags don't appreciably move - even three years later.

@@UrbanMoto Aww, don't get me wrong..... I'm not suggesting anything, just not my cup of tea. I like looking and waiting to see what goes down. Certain bikes are so expensive that I'd never touch them & Harley's that're nice/new(that one looks new to me) I'd be afraid to screw with. A DRz400, brand new, no problem working on that but like the big BMW's, H2's, and Harley's..... guess I'm reluctant ? peace man

Back in the day I knew some rowdy bad type dudes who were doing all these "Staged Upgrades" on their Harley bikes but their bikes looked nothing like a pretty new bike. You'd never have thought their sH!Te would keep on rolling but they did all that stuff. I didn't get how much money these upgrades were in a Harley ? I'd like to see you do the work if that's what you feel like doing. Doing this ain't like changing a light or foot pegs.....lmao. If you're gonna crack the case I wanna see how that goes. peace

@@ZeroKitsunei The M1000R was a consideration of mine to BUT I could not stomach the 23k price tag plus dealer crap. Juice wasn’t worth the squeeze to me. I will likely get an MT10 down the road though because I REALLY loved my MT09. That bike was a blast :)

Yeah for the price of the m1000 I could buy both the FTR Carbon and MT-10.

I was able to find a brand new '23 Carbon for pretty cheap because it had been sitting on the floor so long. Look around for those, I have seen a couple others that were going for similar prices.

I like the wheels on his bike, 5 sets of 3 rungs in the chrome look is brilliant w/ the bike. I might even like those wheels on your bike so go change them so we can vote? Riding on a bike path = get ya beat down by the Authority's...... I hope Not but Ft Worth is known for things? peace

I used to love going to places like the fair. Concerts & sporting events but I can't stand all the people anymore. Too much conflict & people just looking to have conflict. "Karens/Darrens" at every corner nowadays but I digress. Have a good time & when I finally get a bike, who knows, we may ride some time. peace

But I already have a dirt bike 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

It's awesome it was new in 2019 and prior to that they basically had mostly "cruisers". I wanted something sporty but comfortable and this will do the trick and it's also WICKED fast :)

So you told us about the "vibration" at speeds of 70ish? I just had a thought that might make pure bike riders sick but with what I said about riding the Crotch Rocket types, what would a different set of handlebars look like & do for vibration? I'm picturing a set of motocross bars on this bike..... just thinking out loud here but thanks for the video(s). peace man

The MT series is actually the way to go. I’m really sad that I got rid of MT09 that bike was absolutely amazing. However, this Indian has cruise control and all sorts of creature comforts that I’ve never had on a motorcycle before so I’m looking forward to riding this one a bit more. The super sports are just far too painful for any type of long-distance ride. 😂

It’s hard to manage different bars with clip on that super sports have, but it can be done. I just didn’t feel the need because I also don’t like the look of it but it’s totally doable. It’s just when all the weight is on your wrists and the MT engine already is a little buzzy it was just a bad combo!

Ahh, I'm too old to contort my body into a sport bike position & I wish I could afford an MT-09.... lol, I like everything I've come to know about them but the last fast bike I owned was a KZ1000 in the early 80's..... I know but I'm that old & while I had another motorcycle in the early 90's plus a moped I rode for 3 years, it's been a solid 25 yrs since riding. I'm saving money now & researching any/all dual sport bikes but I'm still interested in a few bikes. My KZ1000 and most all bikes back in the day looked like today's Naked Bikes.... perhaps that's my draw to them but I think sitting up is a comfort thing & you're exploring all the other comforts on Indian cruisers..... I know they've got some & if I didn't feel the need for a bike that could traverse the dirt a little, the cruiser world are the most affordable bikes in my humble opinion? I'm not gonna rule them out b/c if I found one at the right price, I might just grab it & my need to ride off road isn't anything written in stone ; Didn't you say your idea of a bike is one that can be ridden in different places like an all in one type thing? I feel like that as well & the cruiser would stop that thought ! BUT, I won't rule out that for the right price I could be persuaded. I'll be here & you can sell me on cruisers, I promise to ask dumb questions b/c IDKnow the answer. Thanks for taking the time. peace

I'm just grabbing at straws, with all the info flying I still miss things & at times the good folks like you will field some questions that are abstract to say the least? All bikes used to be "naked"..... from the 50's until the late 80's most of the bikes didn't have fairings but it's not that I don't like fairings on a bike. I think the clip-ons & riding position just doesn't make sense or appeal to me like a Naked type setup..... now it's a personal preference but I'll be right here to watch whatever you decide to ride..... thanks & be safe out there.
