Great question! The difference between desert and dessert is: Desert (with one 's') refers to a dry, barren area of land with very little rain. Example: The Sahara is a vast desert. Dessert (with two 's') is a sweet dish usually eaten after a meal. Example: I had cake for dessert. In the example from my video, I was referring to dessert, the sweet dish eaten after a meal (used in American English).

Just a quick note! I realized after watching the video that I mistakenly wrote 'desert' instead of 'dessert'. The correct word for the sweet dish after a meal (American English) is 'dessert' with two 's'. Thanks for your understanding! Apologies for the confusion.
