I love what I do I have been working with children of all ages for 24 years I started out as a elementary school teacher then I taught middle school now I work as a early childhood administrator and I love every minute of it.

I started with a summer day camp with school aged children. Afterwards I was doing support for a preschool. Now I'm permanently with the 3-5 year olds. There's a stigma with men being in the industry though. It's changing. Give it time, be professional. Remember: you are there for the kids.

Want more males in childcare then people need to stop demonizing them! A huge problem are some of the polices designed to look out for predators that are based on nothing more than completely subjective perverted ways of thinking. Very normal behaviors misconstrued as "predatory" behaviors when they're not. It's a form of harassment and become a kind of witch hunt at least in the USA. I've been in the field nearly 20 years now and thinking of getting out of it because it's near constant. Child runs up to give you a hug and next thing you know you're being called into the office and having your job threatened, told you can't let them hug you for fear that someone might see it in the wrong way. It's sickening and it needs to stop! This behavior does absolutely nothing to help protect children from predators and only serves to dehumanize childcare and the way children are treated across the board.

Sorry have never posted on here....he was teased very bad and his grades were going down as his self esteem was crushed. Kids were cruel but I, able to cover the patch with other hair. I would like to know why this happens and why can't the dr's tell us?

My 11 yr old is in 6th grade and a month after he got his 11yr old shots we noticed a large patch of hair gone on his head as well as small patches
