Why are these STUPID IDIOTS surfing on their phone while such beauty is all around them? They really don’t care I guess. I hope they would now that Lāhainā is gone now. Makes me sick. Clearly these rich people are here for bucket list checking, not understanding, the care of the land, the care of the sea, and the care of the children…it’s almost vulgar, except for the kama’aina that understand that this is all sacred ground and seas.

This video makes it look so relaxing to be there, and ot didnt look that packed with people. It would be nice to go there just to relax and enjoy the breeze. Walk around look at the beautiful animals.

Thank YOU for posting this up!!! This is excellent to recollect the past and although sad, in a way....its puts a smile on your face knowing how the GOOD TIMES Lahaina showcased...... I remember going on boat cruises for their whale watches....a LOT MORE than what Oahu has.......

I've never been to Lanai but have been to Lahaina many times. The first few minutes walking along Front St. really made me homesick, even though it wasn't my home.

If I'm not mistaken, Hawaii was called the hidden Gem of America, also the wealthiest state in America. Multiple actors always bragged about owning land in Hawaii. Many movies were shot throughout Hawaii. Now, it appears that any federal agency there to restructure or appoint grant money for fixing major parks and attractions quickly are, absent. I am so sorry Lahina, my eyes are tearing up as I write this to you. Our elected leaders are failing you at every premise. I send you love and positive healing thoughts.

Did they ever find all the missing... especially kids? I saw somewhere there are tunnels on the island but never checked it out. It's tragic and doesn't seem like a normal fire.

We have been to Maui a dozen times, staying in Lahaina. I feel bad for the loss of everyone. Many memories on film, I hope our friends Leslie, and Gary Gless, and their dog Triscuit are still alive. Thanks, Rick Schickling, Philadelphia Pa.

So heartbreaking. What a happy, sweet, beautiful place it was. We love it there. I have been watching quite a few different videos and it’s so shocking, how so much is completely devastated but here and there there are homes and places that are still standing. I was glad to see that the old Lahaina luau made it through. So many good memories there. How is the Pacific Whale Foundation? I think that’s the name… I have a T-shirt from there, that I cherish, and cherish even more now.

For those of us who have spent time on Maui and visiting Lanaina, walking up and down Front Street. Getting pics with the Banyan tree, having an ice cream cone or dinning in one of the restaurants, this is haunting. It was so full of life. The lives lost, the businesses, the employment. What happened? I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but without explanation from the authorizes, one has no choice but to subscribe to those conspiracy theories.

Lahaina has always been a beautiful place for me to visit. I have so many memories of times in Lahaina. Now it’s gone. Will it ever be as it once was? I am so afraid the big companies will try and build it up but not in a Good way!

If you don’t like a book, then don’t check out the book. Libraries should carry all types of books so individuals have a choice and that choice should not be restricted by a small group of people who are trying to impose their values on everyone else.
