Making Futures School
Making Futures Bauhaus+ is a practice-based research project initiated as a collaboration between raumlabor and the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) to continuously explore future modes of architectural and urban practice. The project culminated with a summer school at Haus der Statistik in Berlin - a unique site in the heart of the city currently undergoing an experimental process of civicly led transformation.
Over the course of two weeks, over 150 participants took part in a diverse curriculum convened by practitioners in the field of spatial practices. Acting as a non-disciplinary learning environment, the School proposes, designs, builds, negotiates, maintains, performs and celebrates an educational and convivial space in and around Haus der Statistik, Berlin. At the same time, it becomes a dynamic actor within a process of urban transformation, serving as a common sphere of action between participants, neighbours and civic society.
In this video, participants of the school reflect on what they have encountered during those seventeen days of intense, critical, caring and resourceful collaborations. Through a multilayered and overlapping narrative, they share how they have brought the School into being, from building pieces of its physical environment to creating a range of non-tangible support structures. Further they describe their understanding of the school as a place for finding new ways of engaging with each other and making accessible, intersectional and plural futures.

why extravagant word is used here and its meaning if someone could explain, would be helpful !!
The point of newness feeds consumerism, which aligns with einsenman

I hope you are happy that I'm watching this series of 'Incidental Space' videos with an eye to creating an English class in an Eastern European creative university. We work with students from a range of creative spheres: architecture, interior design, industrial and product design, fashion, graphic design, music, film, computer games, illustration, contemporary art, and others. Usually I find videos with actual proper English subtitles/transcripts, but this series covers enough broad issues to tempt me to use the auto-generated subs (I have to make materials to read too, and to work with the langauge together with the content). I've done it before, although the corrections are time consuming. But this one doesn't even have auto-generated subtitles. I'm not sure why. If there's any way you can fix that, I'd appreciate it. When my work is done I'm willing to share the properly edited English subtitles for all the videos with you (I won't be using the Spanish one, of course, because it's in Spanish). Of course the alternative is to type all the text myself, and I've done that before, but... In fact I may be able to find ways to auto-generate them myself, but I'm sure others might appreciate subtitles too. I'm hoping TH-cam will get advanced enough to have very good transcripts available, or at least a lot easier ways for creators to create their own subs and transcripts, in the future.
Sorry to be so frivolous. I'm here watching this video for far more serious and practical reasons, but suddenly I found myself with a burning question: Is Jack wearing Doc Martens with yellow laces? 10-hole or 14-hole?

..grande. R.M.
Hermoso Santuario...
My comment to these svort videos Time Space Existance is the title. Because besides the intriguing opinions about architecture in general, these lectures do not mostly deal with the dimensions of time and the way to express and immerse it in architecture
Yes I agree
All books behind him are photo, coloring or picture books or some garbage "manifesto"
This is the redacted section.
Okay I am in romance with the wall. So can't I build😀
There was a discussion that style to a building will resolve the spatial problems.
Only a fast talking white guy with just applied art degree can make milk a career out of pretending to be deep thinker with endless meaningless lectures, forums, declarations, few manifestos
Smug applied art major masquerading posing as deep thinker
Whenever I feel stuck in design or my artwork, I always find myself coming back to this video. The simplicity in his words, but the weight in meaning are like no other. The world lost such a beautiful soul.
deep thinking heavy hitter SUGOI!
masterclass of eternal brilliance
heavy weight masterclass i bow before you!

Well done. This how you can breath in cities
Me encantó!
I don't think he's using the word "tautology" correctly. I think what he means is self-referential, which is not the same thing at all.
wish he stopped moving that damn mic around
He's designs are amazing
I have been checking out most of his work lately and I am truly fascinated by it.
