Kobe Bryant Left-Right/Right-Left Crossover Evolution (1997-2016)
Kobe Bryant was one of the most skilled all-around basketball players of all time. Aside from being a 12x All-NBA defender, Kobe had every move and shot in his offensive arsenal. However, one under-looked aspect of the Mamba's game was his ball-handling ability. Kobe already had a devastating crossover once he came into the league as a rookie in 1997. During his early NBA years, his left-right/right-left crossover was explosive and completely shifted a defender's momentum. Additionally, he sometimes would use a between the legs dribble to set up the quick crossover dribble. Over time Kobe's crossover would get faster to create enough separation for a shot. After his Achilles injury, while he lost some quickness, this move was still effective in catching defenders off guard. The beauty in this crossover is its simplicity, as it shows there is no need to take a thousand dribbles to create separation. I've slowed down and zoomed in on numerous plays to demonstrate each move's effectiveness. I also included plays where Kobe missed or got fouled. If you want to check out the full highlights or videos from where I found the crossovers, the channels are below.

Kobe Bryant Torching Suns’ Grant Hill
มุมมอง 11K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Kobe Bryant said many times during his career that he absolutely hated the Phoenix Suns. After two playoff defeats and many tense battles it makes sense as to why he loathed the Suns. It seems Kobe took out the anger and frustration on Suns’ defenders as he completely destroyed them after the 2007 playoffs. In particular, Grant Hill took the blunt of Kobe’s offensive onslaught. Hill was a pheno...

Im not sure if this is a thing players run to when they are getting older, but if yall didn't notice, Kyrie Irving is transitioning into the jabb stepp pull-up jumper type player ❤
OMG🤮🤮🤢
2:17, no hate. just once in a while even the great ones have a travels :D
❤ Kobe Bryant eterno ♥️
that No.8 would destroy anybody on the court !!!
I just don’t see this kind of move in the league right now since Kobe or maybe Melo. This move is just so basic but efficient.

“Hey we not doubling in open gym”
The main ways for NBA players to score is through perimeter isos, pick and roll ball handler, screen man, post, transition, or off the ball movement/spot up shooting. Kobe is the only one I think who mastered at least 5 of the 6. Wemby is the only one who has the potential to master all 6
And Jeff Teague said he wasn’t smooth 🤦🏾♂️
Jeff Teague is trash.
If the Lakers had Derek Fisher and his shooting/leadership instead of smush parker, they could've made it to the finals and won it all. Dead ass serious
This was actually the worst year of Kobe's prime, he wasn't able to work on his game all summer. Worst year for his mid range game too. Still the best contested jumpshooter ever
5:05 is the toughest move I've ever seen. Kobe was on some Penny Hardaway stuff.
Am badly needing short clips for MJ

Unpopular opinion: the clips where he has a screener, I know he's technically beating two defenders but he didn't beat a traditional double team. The screen, by nature, brings the extra defender but also an extra offensive player. Still impressive but not the same as those double team splits
1:12 and after no screens you’re talking 1 play

Kobe is the GOAT!
Only Michael sitting at this mans table
Hey Folks. I have a saying that I only use for the greatest of the greats. Sometimes, the other guy is just better than you. That was Kobe Bryant. RIP Kobe 🙏
kobes only weakness was his small hands. imagine if he had mikes hands.

The Greatest of all time Period ,flawless, look at this Mans skill level, he Mastered Basketball 🏀 like a fine tuned Machine 😊
MJ is better
Greatest tough shot maker ever!
Kobe’s game is pure artwork
Kobe took what MJ did and perfected it. The game forever changed for the worse when he retired in 2016 we dont see anything close to his game being mirrored.
Apart maybe from kyrie
Yup exactly!!
Kawhi
I could literally watch this video on a loop for hours.
Not some of his best work and that finals was atrocious
There’s one where he split the D while putting it between his legs from behind
Most beautiful basketball repertoire ever!

NBA always talks about somebody scorching another Great NBA player when almost none of them are great defenders so it’s meaningless
